Steel Shed: Recommendations

Hi All. We are looking into getting a steel shed for the back of garden. We are a terraced house so no side entrance unfortunately. Concrete base already in place, we have space of 10ft length x 16ft width (Doors would be on the 16ft side).

Have looked around and with our layout its proving difficult to find much. We did visit Sheds Direct on Naas Road and saw https://www.shedsdirectireland.com/product/the-mammoth-shed-12ft/ so we do have this as an option but was looking to see if anyone else had any other recommendations?

Not sure if they offer specificilly what you are after but it would be worth contacting them directly even if not on their site.

SteelTech was a no, they require a side entrance. Shanette Sheds will add to my list to look into, thanks

Watch out for the wall plate thickness. It's the steel thickness that you need to know about and not the overall thickness including the two coatings. Cheaper sheds will have thinner steel walls (specifically to keep the weight down for courier delivery).

How did you get the concrete for base in ? Does every component of the shed have to literally go in the front door and out the back ………..or am I missing something ?

Yep that correct. No side entrance as we are a terrace house.

You could get a steel fabricator (basically a lad who's handy with a welder) to make a steel frame off site. All you'd need is 4 uprights on each side and 1 in the centre of each gable + 'A' frames to fix on top of uprights for roof + runners/purlins to fix side & roof sheeting on - all metal to be galvanised once fabricated.

All sections would need to have the necessary lugs, plates & cleats welded on and drilled - to be delivered as a flat pack and assembled with bolts on site. Side and roof sheeting can be supplied cut to size, ditto roof lights & side lights.
