Kerry played well but Donegal never showed up.

Donegal players looked like they had lead boots, looked way off the pace.

Jim's adherence to his system lost the game today.

They were outplayed and had no Plan B

Every football game in Croker was disappointing maybe bar second half of Meath v Galway ( that was after worst 35 minutes though)

Kerry will win least 2 of next 3 also which will be great for the game too for many

New rules are huge for the most talented Gaelic Footballers.

Only one 2pt attempt, blocked down from Donegal.

Kerry a good bit ahead of the pack this year, not their fault the final was anticlimactic

Donegal had to get closer than they were able to manage.
    Surprisingly plan-less.

Well done Kerry, got a soft final in fairness but did the job.

Awful tripe. Possession over and back and 6 points or more down for most of the match. Didn't have a cut or lay a hand on Kerry. No blood and guts on display at all. Was there even 1 name tick let alone a booking in an AI Ireland final! Dinegal looked awful lethargic, didn't break at speed on the few turnovers they got. Patton kept going for Murphy who wasn't having a good day, apart from kicking frees.

As a Dub I’d like to wish Kerry congrats for a well deserved win and I’d like to thank Tyrone for sparing us a monumental semi final drubbing.

That's why I tipped Kerry. Even if both teams had nullified each other tactically I felt Kerry had the football intelligence to work things out. Donegal too wedded to a rigid system.

You can say Donegal weren't competitive around the middle, didn't score 2-pointers or lacked energy.

However those are things they been very good at all year.

I think it was simply a poor performance by them, they were way off it.

They hit several wides from right in front of the posts, for example. They don't normally do that.

More realistic scoreline, at least a 7 pt better team . Can we now put the mcguinness is a genius away for good, he got lucky with the worst tactics ever in the game to win 1 AI

Five 2-pointers from Kerry. None from Donegal if I recall.

Donegals ploy to stand off Kerry in the first half and invite long range shots hurt them quite badly.

Well done to Kerry. By far the better team and worthy Champions

    That was a donegalway performance

That is just a fact Mick Fitz kept David Clifford to two points in 2023. Nothing blinkered about it. If I was to chose Michael Murphy v David Clifford. I would always pick Murphy way more versatile.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    Best in Ireland. Up Kerry

Genius move by Donegal to break away from the pre match parade. Really paid off. Hate that nonsense.

They were great in those areas vs poor teams, it's easy dominate Louth, Monaghan etc. Donegal did as much as they could do vs quality footballers

One of the things I loved about Kerry’s performance was that they kept going at Donegal and were so cute when they needed to slow game down. Fantastic , easy to say Donegal didn’t show up, maybe Kerry were just superb?! That can happen.

Probably White or O'Connor or even Paudie for MOTM.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 403 ✭✭dvega

I would like to see White getting it, but it will probably be joe o'connor

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,697 ✭✭✭elefant

Just a much better team. Probably the 4 or 5 best players between the two teams all playing for Kerry.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,687 ✭✭✭DellyBelly

Those would be my 3 as well..think White should get it. D Clifford had a good first half but quiet in the 2nd half otherwise he'd be in the conversation

Joe O'Connor was immense, would get my nod for MOTM

I’m a neutral, just wanted a good match - unfortunately Donegal were woeful, their system they have should be binned around 15 mins in.

This hands off approach gave so much time and space to Kerry it was farcical.

I feel sorry for their supporters spending money and effort to attend that today and having to make the long trip back now.

Kerry have adapted very well to the new rules. Donegal acted as if they were unaware of the changes.

Well done to Kerry, some lovely scores and defending - not Kerry’s fault but it was 1 of the poorest All Irelands in terms of entertainment.
