Hi Everyone, I was hoping I could get some thoughts on my changes to this upper/lower split I pulled from a suggested youtube video.

Original split is on top with my modified version below. I've also highlighted in both where I've made changes which are mainly just for exercise preference/access to equipment. I also removed calf exercises as I don't really train them and spread some chest volume out across the week.

    TIA

My thoughts: 1) that's a lot of sets per workout 2) i have no idea how hard each set is supposed to be

Without knowing what RPE or approach to intensity is being taken, it's hard to be definitive, but it would probably take me about 90 minutes for each of these workouts, based on the volume.

Depending on your age and situation that might be fine.

It's quite high volume and I would assume that some of the sets listed are actually warm-up or feeder sets, but lumped into the overall sets per muscle numbers.

As long as you're progressing, have at it.

It’s hard to comment without knowing the reasons.

    1. Why so many sets?
    2. Why bench press on lower days? Why everyday/so many variations?
    3. Why two OHP variations? Ditto rows.
    4. Why curls and lateral raises everyday

It seems like a lot of variety. Nothing wrong with variety, but it’s it just for the sake of it, it’s probably not worth.
