Considering outside countries aren't intervening in Gaza either looks like both share similarities from that sense.

I'm on the verge of a site ban. Please don't rage bait me, I'm easily triggered especially late at night!

I wasn't talking about Israel . It appears you don't know much about Palestine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,048 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

What two factions in Palestine are you referring to?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,048 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Outside governments are usually powerless to do anything when a civil war breaks out in a country. By their vary nature, civil wars are invariably haphazard and 'illegal' and often involve atrocities and war crimes by one or both sides.

I see the ICC has rejected Israel's request to withdraw Netanyahu's Arrest Warrant. It had come under pressure from the US to drop it's War Crimes investigations.

    Great news.

Israel loves to promote itself as a western style democracy/society with exemplary human rights and European values - no different than Norway say, or Denmark.

That has been well and truly shown up for the absolute lie it is, once and for all.

It is as bad if not worse than any of the blood thirsty, racist dictatorships of the world.

It is surreal to think this rotten state has “normal” relations with the EU, including trade deals, arms trade and is part of the likes of UEFA, Eurovision etc.

It has no place considering itself a peer of modern European states.

“Pariah state” status is barely adequate.

Are you serious ? It appears you don't know a huge amount about Palestine so maybe read a book and come back to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,048 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Are you talking about Hamas and Fatah or something? But there is no civil war in Palestine or anything even close to it.

I'm pretty sure anyone reading this thread for some time now would be very familiar with your obnoxious posting style.

The "adult" holding the emaciated child could be a doctor.

But that doesn't excuse such an ignorant, crass and loaded question. Like many here, I'm disgusted by it and utterly condemn it.

Go hang your head in shame.

    Al Jazeera

Activists protest Gaza ‘censorship’ at Israeli public broadcaster

Israeli activists gathered at the offices of the country’s national broadcaster to protest what they called the “censorship” of the war in Gaza.

Activists chanted and held signs condemning the Israeli media’s disregard of the atrocities in Gaza, asking the broadcasting station, “What is the media hiding?”

The “Standing Together” movement launched a public petition calling for an end to the “concealment” of the situation in Gaza and calling for balanced and transparent coverage of the war.

In the petition, the group said it wanted to directly challenge the dominance of the far-right discourse in Israeli media, calling for news agencies to report on the killing of 100 children in one week and the erasure of entire cities in Gaza.

But no Jews in Israel care. They are Jews at the of the day . Right ?

Many posters . It's an Israel thing . Not the IDF and their government.

Presumably Gallant's warrant is still in once too?

Both vehemently profess their innocence. So why don't they simply pop off to The Hague and prove that there is no case to answer?

We all know why of course.

Yes I've heard loads and loads of people say exactly what you said above.

They accuse anybody speaking out against the IDF genocide as antisemetic - thereby implicating all Jews in this evil, Israeli or not.

Good to see you have seen sense, and good on those Israelis for protesting

It is obvious when the world media takes a stand against Israel that the usual pro-Israeli posters here have to resort to ever more desperate gotchas, deflections, whataboutery and utterly disgusting comments about starving children.

Of course, those with any sense, knowing there is absolutely no refuting or justifying the evidence before everyone's eyes, don't post.

I have to say that I have a deep fear that what we are seeing today is just the beginning of an absolutely catastrophic loss of life in Gaza. The situation a year ago was that upwards of 200,000 Gazans were dead. Currently, 500,000 Gazans are at the highest level of risk of starvation. Another million or so are one level below that. Even if they were given food right now, many will still die.

Food alone will not help - they need medical care and Gaza cannot provide that. I don't think anyone can.

I genuinely think that the final tally of the Palestinian dead will top half a million - maybe more.

If that comes to pass, Israel will be responsible for Genociding 25% of a population. That is 500 Palestinian lives for each Israeli killed on Oct 7th.

"Disproportionate" doesn't even come close to describing the evil that Israel has perpetrated.

You should learn to read the room before posting an utterly ignorant comment on a photo of a starving child.

As everyone knows, I frequently read and quote Haaretz. They are brave journalists who simply tell the truth, knowing the retribution they will receive. The Israeli govt. put sanctions on them very early on in this conflict.

There are Israelis protesting and I fully support and applaud them. But they are a small minority unfortunately.

The BBC report pulls no punches both visual and written.

There is now a step change in condemnation of Israel for what they have done and continue to do. And there is now no fear of publishing the truth regardless of how robustly Israel will deny it and accuse those reporting it as antisemitic, Hamas sympathisers, blood libels and whatever other bile they can think of.

@Sweet.Science - Seriously, don't even think about quoting this post.

And what military purpose does this serve? Answer - none. It is yet another war crime.

Satellite footage from recent days showed that the IDF has almost entirely destroyed Khan Yunis, the second-largest city in Gaza, and its environs, an area encompassing 90 square kilometers and thousands of homes.

It appears that most of the destruction was done by bulldozers.

    Condemnation-lite in action.

Responding to an X post by U.S. Representative Randy Fine, which said

"release the hostages. Until then, starve away. (This is all a lie anyway. ...),"

the American Jewish Committee said that "the serious humanitarian situation in Gaza must not be taken lightly, especially by those at the highest levels of government," adding that "Implying that starvation is a legitimate tactic is unacceptable."

Palestinians will not allow even the most lick spittle kapo Jewish journalist from Haaratz to live in your "from the River to the sea palestine",no more than they would allow a gay man or a woman who dates to live.

This is more hope than fact. And the war is not over yet. Give it some years. At the end of the day, nation states are self-interested, and if it serves their self-interest to trade with Israel, that is what they will do. Egypt, Turkey, UAE and Jordan, all Arab states, still trade with Israel even after all this.

The houses are damaged , booby trapped, tunnels, provide shelter for attackers, dangerous to the locals.

    Safer for all .

Eh, Hamas were voted into power in 2006..
That blows apart your whole argument.

I have repeatedly stated I wished Hamas ended their war a long time agoz one of the few here who calls for that.

If you have a problem take it up with them.
