Hamas are the aggressor, they have the hostages, they are largely defeated but refuse to end the war.

Israel is forced to keep going.

Ah would you stop it - theres loads of food available in Gaza if you listen to Danzy.

Nothing to see here move on!!!

Yeah Israel is forced to starve innocent civilians to death, forced to bomb tent camps, forced to level cities, forced to carry out genocide.

Yeah I can see your argument here.

. The current Israeli government pulled out of the previous ceasefire deal. Of course due to your hypocrisy and bias you continue to ignore that despite it being pointed out to you repeatedly. This is why it's important to challenge you everytime you decide to be one eyed and afford agency to one side only. If you weren't such a nauseating hypocrite you would criticise both sides for a deal not being reached .

No one is stopping Hamas from unilateral action and just end the war

The Hamas counter demands have been insane, they act like their invasion was successful instead of been beaten back.

They can end it or they can shut up but they have to accept that nearly everyone is tired of their rubbish.

For anyone who needs refreshing. The Arabs wanted the UN to follow their own charter on the right to self-determination for Mandatory Palestine, but the UN would not do so and the Arabs refused to engage with the UN as a result.

You mean the Palestinians wanted hegemony over all of Palestine and modern Israel… yeah that was never going to work. A stupid grave error they made. Perfectly sums up my point that they constantly make bad decisions.

The question should not be why the Arabs chose to ignore the UN, but why the UN ignored their own charter in refusing the people of Palestine the right of self-determination?

Ethnic tensions between Jews and Arabs were ongoing for decades before this. Surely you know this? They were correct to partition Palestine. It won't be the first and last time land was partitioned due to sectarian or religious tensions.

Even to this day, western powers could solve this crisis,

Really? Could they solve the ethnic tensions that have been present in the region for thousands of years? I fear you think far too much of the power of the West to solve these issues. Its so easy to blame 'da West' for every ill of the world. Its just lazy.

It has been explained to you already.

These countries are even more blatantly self-interested than 'The West'.

Palestinians are not popular in the region.

No one really wants to **** with the best armed forces in the region (US aside).

I think more people here I tired of Israel's rubbish.

Like those 28 countries that recently came out against them.

But its good that even their most ardent defenders cant even muster good arguments to defend their actions anymore.

In all fairness @markodaly if Israel didnt exist in the Middle East or had never been created by carving up other countries land then these wars and genocides would not be happening today.

It would have been better for the world had Israel been put in Alaska like was put forward in 1939.

Not at all. Word on the street is that even the Israeli cabinet is ready to put the war to bed. The IDF Generals are making it known that they are done, and the majority of the Israeli people want it to end as well.

This WILL end, it will be sudden. But it would end sooner if Hamas gave up the hostages.

What about the 630,000 Jews that lived in the region circa 1948?

Should we have shipped them off to Alaska as well?

These wars are caused by people who refuse to recognise that Israel has a right to exist and won't be going anywhere. The likes of Hamas are slow learners. They constantly attack Israel, then complain of the repercussions.

Also, it's very naive to think the ME would be at peace if there were no Israel. Just look at the history of the region over the past few decades to see that violence and sectarianism are rife and part of day-to-day life for many. Millions have died in the region involving conflicts that have nothing to do with the West or Israel.

Just this week, you have had 1,000 people killed in Syria over Sectarian tensions.

    Rule of Law?

What 'Rule of Law' will get Israel back its hostages? Should we send in the Gardai? Maybe a strongly worded letter might suffice….

The Ethiopian Famine was certainly given extensive coverage in the West. It was this that led directly to Live Aid, especially Michael Buerk's reports on the BBC.

Calling for a permanent end to the war is not an insane demand. Senior IDF figures have questioned what military objective can be achieved that hasn't already been achieved. The hamas leadership has been wiped out and the remnants of Hamas are not a cohesive fighting force.

We have seen previously that the Israeli government rejected a deal that would have seen all the hostages released because Nethanyu and his far right buddies didn't want the war to end. Why do you keep ignoring that Danzy? As I said both sides have agency but you due to your bias want to avoid blaming Nethanyu and his far right friends because you can't brook any criticism of Israel.

Hamas were demanding that Israel holds no buffer zone, that Hamas are not removed from power, immediate withdrawal of IDF forces.

    It was completely unacceptable.

Hamas can just say tonight that they are releasing all hostages, disbanding and dumping all arms and just leave it at that.

    Hamas invaded, they lost.

So it is time for them to accept it, if the Gazans don't then that's on them, **** em.

Things that happen get more coverage usually than made up things.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,867 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

There you are again conflating all Gazans as Hamas . Well at least you have dropped the pretense by uttering your callous disregard for civilians with your expletive. How is wanting an occupying army to retreat back to its borders an unacceptable demand? Hamas previously said they were prepared to hand over power. However if they are insisting on holding to power that is unacceptable but if your source is Israeli radar for that I remain skeptical.

By the way since you you don't like people invading others and trying to occupy their lands. You should be calling for Israeli settlers attack on Palestinians to stop and for Israel to withdraw from the West Bank.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,217 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

They either accept that they lost or shut up.

That's it, nothing stopping Gazans from rising up against Hamas.

It's their decision. They need to stop their commitment to war and killing.

The son of a Hamas founder, calling out the lickspittles in the West who have helped keep the war going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,867 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

Israel also needs to stop starving people and slaughtering people queuing for food and just end their campaign of ethnic cleansing. How are people supposed to rise up when their basic needs are not being met. It's because of Nethanyu Hamas were able to stay in power in the first place. He could have cut off the funding to Hamas but chose not to because as he boasted to colleagues it was the perfect way to undermine the PA and forestall a two state solution

By the way why did you ignore the other part of my post. Is it because it shows up your hypocrisy- that you don't mind invasions of homes and land when it's Israelis behind it.

    This has to end now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,867 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

The same guy who gloated on Piers Morgan about getting rid of critics of Israel one way or the other. I shouldn't be surprised you would quote a thug like him. He also like you denies Israeli violations of international law and war crimes in the West Bank. So it's a bit rich of him to accuse others of turning a blind eye to war crimes. It's actually lickspiittles like you that help keep the war going with your abject failure to call out Israeli war crimes and general failure to hold the Israeli government to account for rejecting peace deals due to your bias.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,991 ✭✭✭✭Grayson

Israel have stated their war goals and releasing the hostages isn't even top of the list.

Destroying Hamas is top. So even if the hostages were released, they would still not have completed their war goals.

The only hope would be if the hostages were released then Bibi might bow to public pressure. But that's unlikely whilst the far right were in government. The far right would withdraw, the government would collapse and Bibi would face the criminal charges.

It strikes me that events in recent days indicate that those in the know clearly are aware that the death rates in Gaza are going to shock the world.

The BBC are running yet another live news page today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,115 ✭✭✭Miniegg

How, exactly, are Israel forced to keep going?

What threat are Hamas to Israel now? You have said yourself they are defeated

How have all other hostages been released - was it through violence or diplomacy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,991 ✭✭✭✭Grayson

That's ridiculously antisemetic. It's like you believe the Israelis have no control over their actions.

Quoting a known Islamaphobe and hate-monger, takes one to know one right? 😉

Yousef said "Islam is not a religion of peace." Yousef tweeted "If I have to choose between 1.6 billion Muslims and a cow, I will choose the cow."[33] He has stated: "I have zero respect for any individual who identifies as a Muslim."

Everyone should watch that. Warning: It's horrific. I have to say that because we're used to warnings that say the video contains disturbing images but this is is truly disturbing.
