    So this particular victim.

Do you condemn this particular nasty vile racist violent assault carried out on an innocent man?

Seeing as you were angry I didn't show compassion to an unknown victim of unknown crime. I expect an explicit statement from you regarding this known victim.

The irony is that posters in this very thread seemed to be completely annoyed by the man from India who had been made a peace commissioner. I'd classify it as integration but posters seemed pretty annoyed by it...

Nothing to see here, there is “NO" evidence of a link between negative attitudes towards immigration and pressure on local services in communities, according to a ERSI

Wow they are really living in their own world

Devoid of reality, it's stuff like this that just gets people angrier and angrier, they use to be the silent majority but they're voicing their concerns more and more

Reminds me of how a certain white supremacist who used to use this site would go on about how he could tolerate refugees coming to the UK if they came legally said he didn't care when myself and others pointed out that no safe, legal routes existed.

Integration isn't something they care about. That Indian fella is clearly fully integrated but that didn't stop the racism and the hate.

I am sure a lot has changed in 2 years.

"The study is based on a representative survey of adults in Ireland looking at views on immigration, conducted in April 2023, matched with Census 2022"

It is horrific and shocking that a violent assault like that can happen. Hopefully the man will be ok and the individuals responsible will be prosecuted by AGS.

Yes, inclusion should be the goal. Inclusions means affording everyone equality of opportunity. Simple enough really.

This “integration” thing is a red herring. What you mean is assimilation.

Well if no legal routes exist then you just don't go to that country, not a hard concept to understand for most people.

Everybody in the world can't live in europe or America whether you like it or not.

The so called far right should be more angry at legal migratants 😀

You expect an explicit statement from me?

Firstly myself or nobody here owes you a response to anything.

Secondly if you tagged me correctly this morning with what exactly you were talking about then I might have read the article fully before work.

If you asked nicely here I might have had a read of it during lunch and responded to your post.

What I wont do is waste my time playing childish games with you.

How childish is it to demand something of a stranger on a forum.

The immigrants aren't the problem, successive governments, EU policy and the inability for the left to have a coherent debate over the last number of years, without shouting 'ist or 'phobe, are the reasons for the mess we are.

What has PBP got to do with you siding with racist scumbags instead of innocent victims ?

You are just looking for any angle here to deflect from the horror of that and other attacks .

Laughable you try to say I hate Irish people . That's just an ad hominem attack to try to discredit a poster . Proves you have no argument .

But I don't see many of the posters posting here supporting Women's or Gay issues .

It's not really the topic here but as you bring it up , it's classic to see people posting in favour of the likes of McGregor or about fertility rates in Ireland and worrying about " the women and children with so many 'unvetted ' single males coming in ," but little empathy for victims of Irish males when those are discussed , or indeed no worries about people being afraid of aggressive thugs who say they are for "Ireland for the Irish " but are burning our social housing hostels and attacking innocent people . But it's ok because they aren't attacking Irish people ??

Of course I'm not talking about you ..either :/s

Ireland has the fasted growing population 2024-2025 of any European country that isn’t a micro state.

Totally unsustainable and absolutely reckless in the context of the national housing and health crises.

I look forward to the inhabitants of LaLa land ignoring or hand waving away the impact this has on housing demand and public services or denying it entirely. It’s all just coincidental.

What does your post have to do with my exchange with that poster?

    Am I missing something obvious?

Ireland has somewhere around 30,000 AirBnBs for rent, more than 18,000 of which are full properties and not single rooms. That's AirBnB and doesn't account for other services.

But that's not the problem is it, no, not at all. It's the immigants.

I see GB News have a new documentary presented by what I can only describe as a real life Alan Partridge.

"In old Britain culture meant Shakespeare and Elgar," How far back does he want to go?

Maybe you guys should be looking at where the actual problems and solutions are (hint, it's always money) rather than punching down and blaming people, who the vast majority of, didn't make a massive and dangerous journey just to make your life harder.

What's the story with Malta and Liechtenstein then ?

I don't think anybody here is hand waving our housing crisis away to be fair .

This thread is about immigration .

Are you saying it's all immigration that has us where we are ? Talk about Laa La Land .

You know that it is only a fraction of what the issues are but to hear people talk here it's 90% immigration and the rest our policies on housing and ever increasing soaring property speculation over the last 25 to 30 years .

The majority is the latter mentioned there , immigration is a small factor , but yes, I do agree it is one factor .

But I will only post them if you post yours , properly .

Are you saying it's all immigration that has us where we are?

It's not migration alone but yes, it plays a significant part. Housing crisis, healthcare overcrowding, even driving tests waiting lists, all these are at least in part the result of a huge population growth which include migration as a significant component.

And yes we can and should blame the government for not doing anything about it, and not the migrants. But appointing blame doesn't change the root cause.

It's GB News so I watched a few seconds from the timestamp you linked and called it there.

To most people here, Shakespeare is what gets rammed down their throats during childhood and is something to be avoided from then on. I doubt most people know who Elgar is but I assume whatever gammon is narrating this thinks it's posh or somehow impressive to cite a name like that.

I wouldn't watch something like this for the same reason I don't listen to Joe Rogan or eat dog sh*t off the ground.

    What an over reaction.

    🤣🤣🤣

And you are only doing this because you wont condemn a racist attack.

Lets look at the actual situation!

I a poster on a forum have posted a reply to you on a thread very much on topic for that thread.

You will only see that I have posted a reply to your post that you have posted on this topic when you log in.

You are under no pressure to reply.

It's not like I have cornered you in Tesco buying eggs and toilet paper and demanded a reply.

    Ridiculously hilarious!

I'm with you 100%, my point is that people who just gobble up this guff then go on to blame immigrants about the erosion of their culture, despite never engaging in Shakespeare or as you say, even knowing who Elgar is. I had to study Chaucer and Keats for A-levels, I never want to have to decipher Chaucer ever again.

    I got that, no worries.

You get the same trope from lazy morons going on about how immigrants are taking all the jobs and welfare but who themselves suffer badly from sticky mattresses.

GB News exists for the same reason as grift.ie, to buttress and enhance the establishment. Flooding the zone with racist nonsense helps distract people from ballooning inequality, climate change and the soaring cost of living.

I wouldn't bother. You won't get anything but deflection. The only good thing about these crimes is that it does shine a good light on what these far right really are. Some of the public who were getting hoodwinked by them got a real eye-opener that this is what they are all about. There is no better way to ensure that you don't get votes than to go around attacking innocents. Then to get enjoyment out of it afterward as we've seen far and wide on social media is the icing on the cake. The next step will be to accuse people of staging the attack or being actors. You know the drill. In work it's been talked about in the office and the genuine disgust people have about it can't really be put into words. Those people will never ever vote for anyone remotely connected to the far right in this land and that is literally the only good thing that's come out of this, as disgusting and sickening as the event and conduct by the far right has been afterward.
