So 25 countries want the war to end in Gaza. That's an awful lot of anti semitic people.

What an amazingly ignorant post. Not a trace of empathy for dying children.

Three more added to the list this evening - 28 countries in total plus an EU Commissioner.

    • Foreign ministers of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK
    • EU Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management

Of course, Israel has rejected the statement and has called it "disconnected from reality"

I would hope that Israeli citizens will see through the obvious Hasbara - 28 countries signed up and their Govt. has rejected it. It's a no brainer. Hopefully they will pressure their alleged War Criminal in Chief along with his convicted terrorist Minister to stop the Genocide that is being perpetrated in their name. If they do nothing, they will bear this shame for eternity.

Also, the ICJ is watching - a finding of Genocide is now the only finding possible. Any other finding would be an utter travesty and justice will not be seen to be done.

A finding of Genocide will be a heavy, but correct burden for Israel to bear. I look forward to the day Netanyahu spends the rest of his toxic and miserable existence in a cell in The Hague along with Yoav Gallant - and hopefully others.

As for Israel supporters and those who justify these atrocities, this shame is on you as well.

WHO headquarters in Gaza attacked 3 times by the IDF.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/world/2025/0721/1524462-gaza-israel/

The IDF is an out of control rabble and I hope Karma has a long arm.

Those children had no chance of life and up to the day they were bombed, sniped, burned or starved, they lived the most miserable existence anyone can imagine - if that's even possible.

The 9th circle of Hell awaits anyone without empathy for them - traitors to humanity. May they live whatever lives they have in an equally miserable manner before they die roaring.

    IDF targeting children -

IDF soldiers deliberately wounding children in Gaza ‘like a game’, says British doctor

A British surgeon in Gaza has claimed medical workers are seeing “clear patterns of injury”, suggesting IDF soldiers are deliberately shooting Gazan children in different body parts depending on the day of the week.

Professor Nick Maynard told BBC Radio 4 he and his colleagues have experienced unusually high instances of gunshot victims targeted at aid distribution sites - mainly teenage boys - needing treatment for similar injuries.

“On one day they’ll all be abdominal gunshot wounds, on another they’ll all be head gunshot wounds or neck gunshot wounds, on another they’ll be arm or leg gunshot wounds,” he said.

“It’s almost as if a game is being played, that they’re deciding to shoot the head today, the neck tomorrow, the testicles the day after.”

"The Western world is paying for the bombs that are burning children to death," Perlmutter said. "They're paying for the bullets that shredded those children. We are complicit in this." He called the situation in Gaza a "genocide".

Calling this a war is the most disingenuous part of the commentary. Thread title should have been changed a long time ago.

As stated before what Hamas did was horrific never to be condoned just to get that out of the way.

This is like the Wimbledon tennis final 2 weeks ago where on one side of the net you have an IDF solider and on the other side no opponent.

The IDF solider gets bored so decides to shoot anyone in the crowd who decided to leave their seats to go out and get refreshments.

Never had a strong opinion of Israel before but after the last few months especially viewing what the Israeli Government via the IDF are inflicting on the Gazan population (Non Hamas) is just depraved.

To call what is happening in Gaza a war is a gross misrepresentation. It's a genocide by a maniacal Jewish state against predominantly defenceless Palestinians using bombs bullets and starvation. They are making the Nazi's look good. The Nazi's tried to hide their crimes. Israel is being overt. The world will not forget or forgive.

This post aged well didn't it?

Ireland along with 27 other countries now firmly rejecting Israel and calling for an end to the war.

Ireland has fought hard for this since it was apparent Israel was committing atrocities.

Cleared-eyed since the early days. Now joined by many others. I'm proud of the Irish Govt. for standing up for those who can't stand for themselves.

They've never had a problem even killing their own citizens, surrendering hostages, nuns and even sheep.

Someone posted that they are "brave". There's nothing brave sat in your F17, attack helicopter or Merkava battle tank as you unleash hell on starving civilians trying to get water and food.

    Utter cowards.

Israel deeply cares for the hostages - yeh right…

    • Israeli National Missions Minister Orit Strock called for expanding military operations to all areas of Gaza, even if it risks the lives of hostages.
    • The Hostages and Missing Families Forum condemned Strock's remarks, saying they amounted "to the sacrifice of the hostages and, along with them, the sacrifice of the values on which Israel was founded."

IDF - "most moral army in the world". No, the most cowardly army in the world and no problem committing War Crimes.

    • The Wall Street Journal reported that in mid-June, IDF soldiers shot at Palestinians holding white flags outside an officially approved route near an aid distribution center in Gaza, citing an IDF combat reservist. "We have an unwritten rule that if you are worried and they get too close and you see that it could be something that puts you and your team at risk, you don't take that risk," the report quoted the reservist as saying.

Opinion piece nails it. World Pariah.

"'The most moral army in the world' is carrying out war crimes in the name of the Israeli government, and except for a small minority in the country, Israelis have no problem with it.

In the name of the October 7 massacre and in the name of the hostages, we have gone blind. We've closed our ears and hearts, and we've become stiff-necked.

As a discussion in the television studio about the 'humanitarian' ghetto or 'voluntary' expulsion carries on – we booked a flight abroad, a restaurant reservation or a theater ticket – or just plain laid down on the couch in front of another reality show"

    Ayelet Harel

yet another powerful opinion piece - seems the tide is turning.

"Before someone suggests launching a military assault on [Piers] Morgan's studio, it is worth remembering that [settler leader] Daniella Weiss is not a marginal figure – she is influential and has been shaping reality for decades, with the power to implement her policies.

If she is a minority, she is one with an army behind her.

Regarding the children of Gaza, the great majority believe as she does that after October 7, their lives are worthless. People don't care how many of them have died (953 babies under a year old)"

The Israeli public don't come out of this well at all. The German public in WW2 were largely in the dark about the Holocaust and bought into the idea that Jewish people were merely being 'evacuated' to another country. The Israelis actually know what is happening - even their own media are surprisingly open and frank about what is happening to the Gazan population. The public are so radicalised though that they appear to be buying into the idea that all 2m people in Gaza are Hamas.

It may be harsh, it may be cruel?

It's a fecking genocide. At the very least it's crimes against humanity. And the perpetrators need to go on trail. War crimes should never be acceptable.

Whatever about the pathetic reaction of the EU - can someone explain why the Muslim countries that surround Israel don’t “rally around” and collectively demand a stop to this??? With threats of boots on the ground?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,168 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

if they got themselves organised the Muslim majority states have a potential alliance from North Africa all the way over to Indonesia, including at least 2 nuclear powers, against a very small isolated state??

But my question is why Havnt they provided more of an opposition to the Israelis?

Maybe they don't want to be bombed to pieces, considering they are sitting in peace and living their own lives. Why stir the pot. Israel has shown it will attack anyone in the region.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,099 ✭✭✭✭Strazdas

Lammy did not like being told he could end up at The Hague for complicity in Israeli war crimes. This is encouraging though - the type of public pressure the Labour government will not enjoy for one moment for helping the terrorist state.

The Islamophobia is a given. Tbh I wouldn't even question their motivations there. But they are single handedly becoming the greatest threat to Jews by providing both feeble moral and legal cover (although I'd question one posters actual understanding of legislature) for what we are all seeing on a daily basis. I mean surely they can see dead kids and think thats wrong no? How fucked up do you need to be to justify that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,156 ✭✭✭Spudmonkey

This was never going to end up well for the Israelis. Remember the two nice boys with their imaginary button that would make Gaza disappear and how they felt they spoke the majority….

Well they did…. I mean at least the Russian and Iranian public can hide behind their autocratic leaderships and say well they don't really stand for us but well the Israelis openly voted for a regime that believes in perpetual warfare, forced expansion and genocide (a trigger word for some here who'd complain about trigger words). I mean at least say the loud part quiet guys….

Touting Israel as a democracy is such a spectacular own goal it doesn't even deserve highlighting. I mean just give them enough rope….

Sadly true. Israel is the vegan capital of the world as Kosher law says animals shouldn't suffer unnecessarily during slaughter, which I wholeheartedly agree with BTW… Unless those animals are Palestinian Amalek kids however where they seem to find and enjoy endless ways of slaughtering and terrorizing them. The hypocrisy knows no-bounds!

Although they seem to have stolen multiple dishes from multiple countries so even their cuisine is not entirely their own. A recurring theme with them it seems.

I know people who think the life of a chicken is worth more than the life a Palestinian / Muslim child. They justify the killing of any and all 13-year-old boys and older in Gaza because that's when they join Hamas, while being insufferable vegetarians who constantly call the rest of us monsters for eating animals.

Don't speak to them anymore whatsoever. Was friends with them for over ten years unaware of fúcking depraved and disgusting they were. They'd give any of the ones in here a run for their money. And they cosplay as progressive Democrats, when all their views are incredibly right-wing, including hating trans people. Took a lot of beers for that one to slip out.

    Eye-opening year.

I didn't really need to read that. They shot 3 of their own who were calling for help after escaping and speaking in their own language.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,217 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

They did rally round, when Iran attacked Israel they all helped shoot down the missiles, when the Great march for Gaza was in Egypt, it was the Egyptian working class that was fighting them.

They all know the reality of leaving them in and having them as neighbours.

I'm starting to think the reason so many eastern European countries are behind Israel is they're terrified if the settler project fails then the genocidal animals will look to move back home.
