Any merit in thinking Ghislaine Maxwell leaked the letter to WSJ as a warning shot to Trump?

He was very careful not to criticize her and also said twice and very publicly, that he wished her well

Maybe you should do what the other lad eternally offended by "pile ons" claimed to do and just block everyone.

This is a discussion site. It may appear as an echo chamber because all the trump fans, and there were plenty of ye a year ago, have ran for the hills as this clown in the White House does exactly what we expected of him. Off with you an join your mates, we'll see you in two years when you come back to claim it's not an issue for Trump to try to finagle a 3rd term.

They havent ran for the hills.

Most were banned, due to a combination of biased moderation and the way you and others gamed the system, others left because the thread is a toxic echo chamber, and posting is a complete waste of time, you cant reason with fanatics.

Why would they run for the hills, Trump is President after all, they won, you lost.

Maybe they think Trump is doing a great job for all you know.

I saw someone claim online that the WSJ story about Trump and the birthday card could be an elaborate scheme to help give Trump the opportunity to claim Democrat manipulation of the story. The hypotheses was that as they proceed with the case dealing with Trump suing the WSJ, it will be "discovered" that the birthday card story is fake and that that will be used by Trump to undermine the whole claim about him being on any Epstein list. The claim is that is a favour by Murdoch to Trump and that the WSJ will issue some sort of an apology and maybe pay a fine which will be inconsequential when measured against Trump support for wealthy corporations and individuals.

All a bit make-believe you might think, but so much about Trump could be classified in the same way, and yet it's horrifically true unfortunately. I wouldn't put this past any of the people involved. One of the comments on this story was that this will be entirely possible for Trump, sure didn't he stage an assassination attempt last summer. Who knows what exactly the truth is about that, or this, or any of the rest of it, the only thing I do know is that there's a metaphorical stench that radiates off of him and everything he does.

I am a non-American no longer living in that country. I didn't lose anything, nor did they or you win.

One thing we can agree on, you can't reason with fanatics. You've helped prove that point time and again.

Plenty have simply disappeared, Trump is president but he's an incredibly **** president in the scheme of things. You're not particularly capable of defending any of his decisions. You are uncomfortable going near his controversial decisions cause they're impossible to defend unless you want to be viewed as a defender of fascists. I was reading the Wikipedia of Ingmar Bergman recently and the similarity to Trump fans sort of stands out. The weirder part is that Trump fans seem likely to celebrate as people start to die in his concentration camps

Also let's remember all those fans are backing a rapist... Which doesn't say anything positive about them.

Trump's conduct is so vile and reprehensible it cannot be defended in open debate. Instead we get every tactic in the bag of tricks... deflection, whataboutery, both sides, accusing critical posters of being paid shills, conspiracy theory dog whistling.

We have articles being posted trying to defend and exonerate Trump that states things like eg he is a clear danger to the American republic and the wider world. That's the best they can come up with.

What I want to know is why he lodged the papers in Florida. On the face of it, it's probably because his private home is there, as distinct from his president's home in Washington, instead of lodging them in New York where the WSJ is published from. I do know that Judge Eileen Cannon is a Florida born and raised judge appointed by Trump and she sits in court there.

Even far-right types are turning on Trump now. I couldn't embed the above video because it's in short format but it's of Nick Fuentes burning all his bridges with the Trump admin.

The people still supporting Trump are laying the groundwork to downplay any crimes he may have committed.

Murdoch could well have been sitting on it for years. He knows Trumps time is coming to an end but his agenda hasn't been fulfilled so move him on in favour of Vance. Try to push through the rest of project 2025. Its exactly what Murdoch and his ilk want. Even his own kids have spoken out about how poisonous the guy is.

How is Trumps time coming to an end ?

He has 3.5 years left to serve.

Murdoch is 94 he probably doesnt have much time left himself to be honest.

Epstein might not have a file, but I'd be fairly confident Murdoch has one of all the stories he didn't publish because the leverage was worth more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,143 ✭✭✭threeball

The pressure is building, if the content of the files don't finish him, the stress and pressure of trying to suppress them will. Hes getting more shook by the day.

Murdoch doesn't care that he's 94, he'll be trying to shove his world view down people's throats long after he's pushing up daisies.

Bunch of rich kunts that the world would be better off without.

Maybe there is a smoking gun in the files, I dont know, maybe Trump is trying to protect someone in his circle, a main backer perhaps.

Why would he have made such a fuss over releasing the files if he knew there was a smoking gun about him in them.

The files include flight logs, contact lists, court records and other materials documenting his activities and associations with high-profile individuals.

I mean we know he was a friend of Epstein and flew on his private plane regularly, thats common knowledge.

I see Nancy Pelosi says Trump should release the Epstein files, but of course she is repeatedly silent on why Biden failed to release additional documents on Epstein during his term of office.

If there was a smoking gun in the files on Trump you would imagine Biden would have released this last year in the election campaign.

    Its all a bit strange.

Tulsa Gabbard rolling out the latest deflection tactic with the Conservatives favorite bogey-man, Barack Obama.

She wants him prosecuted for acts relating to the 2016 election.

These clowns are pathetic. Wonder does she remember that last year, at the insistence of her current boss, the Supreme Court granted Presidents immunity. Not that there's any basis in her claim either way, its the latest attempt to distract from Epstein.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,283 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Pretty simple really, Biden didn't interfere with the Justice department so releasing information around criminal investigations would simply be odd. Releasing any documentation has the potential to interfere with criminal investigations until they're completed. In effect, Biden was a professional in terms of he approached the role. Trump approached it by promising things that he now appears to be entirely backtracking on

Basically Biden has absolutely nothing to do with Trump's issues, no matter how much you try to redirect. Pretty easy headine is "Noted Political Sex Offending helps cover up crimes".

He's very old, famously incontinent, can barely construct a sentence, is incapable of telling the truth or feeling empathy and is now doing everything possible to convince people that he's a child molester.

So is Maxwell more useful to Trump confined to prison and essentially silenced or free and ready to speak?

Ironically if there is “nothing to see here” in terms of Epstein, she’s probably one of the few people capable of revealing the truth - a pardon from a 20 year sentence would probably get her talking

It's not going to happen. They will settle long before.

I'm even starting to entertain that the birthday message might be deliberate weak reporting to hand Trump a "win" via settlement and deflate the Epstein thing.

Both men rely heavily on each other.

I don't know if you had time to look, given your busy schedule, but there was a vote recently to release the files and the Democrats voted for it, with the Republicans against. Why do you think that was?

If theres nothing of note in these files and they're corrupted by democrats as Trump claims then theres an argument she doesn't have a case to answer, could be released and could be eligible for compensation. Thats the possible consequence of Trumps fcukery.

Given that Trump can't run in the 2028 presidential election (regardless of any impression otherwise that he has allowed to exist!), the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) story makes no difference to his status as President. So why does he feel the need to keep his base on side, which is the reason for his libel action against the WSJ?
