Anyone heard of Worldtronix (www.pro-tronics.de)? I’ve just ordered a Canon EOS 300D from them at €1,049, (+€26 shipping) although they say they won’t have stock for 1-2 weeks (most other places with decent prices had a similar stock situation).

They wanted payment by bank transfer, but I’ve come across this before when dealing with German companies, and never had a problem. (The Germans seem a bit credit-card phobic; they often aren’t accepted in physical stores/hotels/restaurants in Germany either from my experience.)

Another German company, New York Camera, who do accept credit card payment, are selling the 300D at €940.00

I, and quite a few others who use this forum, have bought from them in past (and would do so again).

Thanks for the recommendation; I had seen them but they are more expensive. €940 is the body only; the camera kit with lens is €1,088. Not a massive difference from €1,049, admittedly. Anyhow – I’ve already ordered from Worldtronix, (they also had another camera I wanted for a present at a very good price) just wondering after the fact if anyone has dealt with them before? They have been very responsive and helpful so far in email.

EDIT - I see NY Camera want an extra 3% if you want to use a credit card (on this particular camera), so that puts them in much the same position that way. I don't mind bank transfers, they only cost 75c to another Eurozone country, and no-one (cheap) seems to have the camera in stock until early December anyway.
