Whenever it gets above 20 degrees I just vegitate with a fan and all requests are responded with 'its too hot to do anything'. I'm basically a reptile🦎.

Forced family gatherings a pain in the arse, even without the heatwave we have at the moment!

    You made the right call😎.

Watching the magpies use my birdbath. There's a queue of them waiting for a go.

Thanks to the weather, everybody is in great form, everything looks clean and shiny, there are millions of butterflies absolutely everywhere and I met a dog that can walk on water!

Also my local Choice store has aircon. I have never spent so much time browsing plastic garden gnomes and other tat I have no intention of buying 😁

Just watching Live Aid 40 what great voices they had! No autotune! And I am not just talking about Freddie Mercury. Sting and Phil Collins singing on their own with minimal support.
There was a singer called Sade who was fantastic. How often do you hear her mentioned these days?

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Sade? Anyone over a certain age knows very well what calibre of singer she is.

Glad to hear you discovered her.

I heard Sade mentioned on some American programme a few months ago and remember thinking that I didn't think she would have been big in America back in the day. But maybe she was, and Live Aid probably would have helped her profile at the time.

My TH is related to a CD I ordered from Bandcamp on Friday night by a band from Kildare called thanks mom (stylised like that in lower case, or maybe they just have grammatical issues) 😉. The CD was €10 or more (so I added a small bit extra, just to support the young band) plus €6 postage. I was out for a while yesterday, but when I got home the CD was waiting for me, having been hand-delivered into my letterbox by somebody in the band or a helper. It came with their own special 'thanks mom' wax seal on the envelope/jiffy bag too. 😎

It was a bit cheeky charging €6 postage for a few KM worth of petrol but I don't mind. 😉😄 I wish them well!

Here's a link for anyone who's interested (and I'm not in any way affiliated with them!). Wake Me! | thanks mom

I looked her up then and it says she rarely gives interviews. Sort of like Enya I suppose. Which probably explains why I never heard of her.
Not really suited to big stadiums though, I think. Slow tempo. But still, great voice.

Also another thing that made me happy watching not a Mobile phone in sight!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

She was absolutely massive (fame wise) in the '80s and '90s. As was Kate Bush (I assume you know of her 😁). And Tracy Chapman.

BTW, the pronunciation of her name can be found here under Yoruba language:

I was trivially happy that there was also a pronunciation in Crimean Tatar. Not something you'd see (or hear) very often around here. 😄

    Sade Adu is the singer.

YEA! It's stopped being a million degrees, and the lawnmowers/strummers are quiet!

I know ppl love the sun, but as someone with sun-sensitive skin and short-tempered housemates, I'm happier with whatever today is(-the biblical showers, of course)

Wasting time in mercifully cool supermarkets last night, I found at least four types of cereal which is oat-based!!! so hard to find wheat-free cereal outside of the special diet sections and they are €€€€€'s.

My TA is that yesterday's Heardle 1 Hit Wonder was Kate Bush. And Running Up That Hill at that! I was practically ready to grab my pitchfork and torch.

ETA: Just realised I'm in the wrong thread!

Full disclosure: I don't like Kate Bush. But she was very famous, she still is.

ETA: It is, but you should be TH that we don't hold it against you.

I get an intercity coach every day. I’m sure we have all been there, you ask someone for a seat and the person moves their bag and gives you a sigh and filthy look like you were kicking their dog and beating their children 😏

Our bus driver today doesn’t stand for that nonsense. He saw some people standing and pointed out seats on the bus and told people to move their bags. He did it in a firm but also nice way, no shouting

My hero for today , legend

The rain and clouds are back😁. The sun has finally fecked off! Hate it😡.

Now for the temps to cool back down to 5 Degrees!

Finally had a chat with a MH professional, was looking for assurance about some physical symptoms that didn't fit my ongoing issues.

They were surprisingly understanding and happy to discuss some difficult subjects, happy to go with my more holistic approach, the best bit for me was that once the details were sorted out they were happy to take some of the decisions from me and say that an ideal test could easily be postponed till finances allow.

A petty th about this is that now I can tell the "get a fan, you're attention seeking, see a dr" types they can FRO as a trained dr tells me neither of these labels apply to this sit.

Have had my heart set on it for a while now but was in a job where visible tattoos were an absolute no-no up until recently. This is very easily covered but even the healing period would have been a problem, so I had to wait. Delighted, though!

I get home, door closed, don’t even have a chance to take my rain jacket off, doorbell… and it’s the courier…. Perfect timing, nothing I’m particularly waiting on but it’s one less thing I have to do, don’t need to be chasing up deliveries…

This one only took me 25 years to realise. There is a band from America called Calexico. Western Cowboy sort of style. In 2000 they released an album with a song on it I always called it “The ballad of cable nogue”. But there is a film on now called “The Ballad Of Cable Hogue”

Well I finally put two and two together. The film isn’t bad either.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

It's raining and it makes me so happy.
