You are indeed correct. The levels of anti-semitism in 1920 were such that any Jewish state in their homeland where they came from was going to be difficult.

Sadly, sometimes it seems that so little has changed.

I am not clear on what your position is?

Do you share the Palestinian rejection of a two-State solution in 1947? Remember the history. The Palestinians only came around to a two-State solution after several wars against Israel that they lost. Have you also come around to that?

I have been clear that I accept a two-State solution, but that any agreement has to reflect the reality of wars that have been won and lost since.

Syrian Human Rights Organization reports that more than 250 Druze have been massacred since the latest attacks. There are reports that the government backed terrorists have kidnapped and raped girls under the age of 10 in front of their parents.

It’s October 7th all over again. Supply of food, water, basic necessities for the Druze have been cut off. Syrian forces were ostensibly sent to protect the Druze minority and they are filming their activity. However, as soon as the TV cameras are turned off, the very same troops then start committing atrocities against the Druze civilians.

The Druze are asking the IDF to continue intervening to stop the massacres.

There is an actual genocide starting in the Syria. No one cares because it has nothing to do with Jews and the people doing it are like Hamas.

I have basically zero interest in the history of this because it is not relevant whatsoever to what Israel is doing now. I find it incomprehensible that anyone looks at a genocide and starts making points about something that happened 76 years ago.

That's like justifying the Holocaust because of something that happened in 1867.

You are the prime example of "How did anyone let this happen?" every time a genocide happens. You are the answer to one of the most damning historical questions ever asked.

Looks like no sanctions on Israel for it's continued genocide from Brussels, Israel sound pleased it's lobbying worked.

At least 20 Palestinians have been killed in a crush at a food distribution site in southern Gaza run by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. It happened after GHF guards used teargas or pepper spray on hungry crowds arriving at the centre, Palestinian health authorities and witnesses said.

Another catastrophe that in normal times in normal countries might define a generation. Imagine the sheer desperation and hunger these people must be experiencing when they continue going to these places to get shot at with guns, shot at with tanks, be tear gassed, and die in crushes.

It's actually impossible to imagine it. We have no idea what that could possibly be like, day after day for years, with the "solution" to your situation to be housed with 2 million others in a "humanitarian" concentration camp for the rest of your life that you not allowed to leave. 18 years living in a barricaded Gaza just to be killed, starved, and moved into an even tinier enclave. And half the population to be under 18.

Adolf Eichmann couldn't plan this better. A complete removal of an entire population by moving two million of them into the ruins of a city you just destroyed, and they be kept there forever, with the inexplicable full support of the international community. If the Nazis hadn't started a war, it's what they would have done to the Jews in Germany.

Meanwhile Starmer refuses again to answer a simple question a short time ago from a member of his own party. Brutal stuff !

I suspect Kaja Kallas is not the problem. The word is she very much wants to impose sanctions on Israel but is being totally blocked by pro-Zionist countries such as Germany, Austria, Hungary and Czechia.

A warning to Jihadi Jolani, attacking civilians is off limits.

In war, you hit military targets and try minimise civilian damage.

That doctrine of the IDF is now being applied, via force, in neighbouring States .

Russia is the aggressor, the invading party, Gaza/Hamas are also the Invader, so if there is sanctions it should be against them but by the bizarre standards of the conflict Israel has instead of sanctioning Gaza provided millions of meals in the last month alone to Gazans.

This exactly. If for whatever reason, 20 people were killed in this country in one incident and through no fault of their own it would as you correctly say, define a generation. Then you come on boards and you get people who say they don't justify it but will spend post after post talking about 1947 as if that should have any relevance to whats going on today.

God knows we have had dark days like that in the past, and i shudder to think of the equivalency of who these people would blame, because for them, its always the victims own fault.

These posts cannot be for real. Hamas invaded Israel, for a matter of hours almost 2 years ago. After that, everything in your post is blatantly false and inflammatory. Gaza is now rubble. How exactly are they doing the invading? How many innocent Israelis have been killed this week? This month? This year? Now ask how many Palestinians have been killed while literally queuing for scraps of food.

You are talking absolute rubbish and clearly out of ideas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 601 ✭✭✭Lawlesz

In relation to your last two lines; do military targets include civilians and kids queuing for food? The medics and journalists that have been killed? You are outright lying here, it is hard to know if you are willfully ignorant or just rage baiting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,218 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

They started it, they lost, they booby trapped and had tunnels in and under most of Gaza, so the houses were taken out of the equation instead of sending in soldiers in to neverending ambushes.

Most importantly Hamas could have ended the war at any chance, yet even today refuses a ceasefire.

Until Gazans want peace, there will be no peace, that's their choice and they force the IDF to continue the fight back.

And for the record, another post that was ignored. You people will obfuscate and dance around semantics, trawl back through history to come up with warped theories to justify this barbarity. But when you are asked a categorical question with a simple yes or no, it is ignored. It has been seen time and time again here.

The Nazis should be commended for providing hundreds of millions of meals to Jewish people, I suppose.

And so if your neighbour committed an act of terrorsim, you would be OK with your kids being bombed into oblivion, starved etc? Those kids were also part of Hamas? Who broke the most recent ceasefire? Seriously, give up. You have no idea what you are talking about. Innocent kids being killed and being the big hard man that you are, your answer is tough.

As for the IDF fighting back, fighting back against what? Hamas hardly exist any more. Gaza is in ruins.

You mean Israel has, through it's sponsor the USA, bribed and bullied the autocratic leaders of a few countries into accepting the colonists. The average citizen of these countries despises Israel. You do realise Israel was supplying Iran with weapons in the war against Iraq and had relations with them right up until the 90's.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 520 ✭✭✭freebritney

As a matter of interest how does one surrender to the IDF? Would stripping to your waist, waving a white flag and calling out in Yiddish work?

Israel doing its usual to destabilise Syria.

This is all part of an Israeli long term objective to expand their borders

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

Sudan has a genocide happening now too but it’s barely in the news. Concentration camps in China for years now but sanctions are inconvenient so won’t happen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,648 ✭✭✭brickster69

Netanyahu was back in court for his corruption charges today but it was adjourned because of the Syria strikes. He does not want this case to be heard does he, just bomb someone and kick the can down the road.

How can Jews be colonists in their own homeland?

Wait until the next cause pops up and the usual crowd will change their banners and move onto that.
