The ever trusty Newscorp and its subsidiary Sky news Australia, now coming as a link dump to the thread cause the mods gave up.

    🤣

More conspiracy talking points from the company that in a USA court stated its news wasn't news but entertainment.

Sky News Australia is just beneath contempt. It's telling that they felt the need to dump the link twice as well.

It's gas how SNA's pro-grifters go on about "our values" when they've spent the past few decades conducting a media war against said values.

I’m not blaming you, I’m just amused that you think that fixating on an incredibly minor error in quotation somehow invalidates what the news story is (or, more amusing, that you’re fooling anybody into believing that it proves the story is untrue or a conspiracy)

What would you like to see from the Gardaí in policing this kind of thing?
You were saying how ineffective they were and how that was the real story - cmon I’ll actually take you at face value, what measures do you think would make the Gardaí more effective in this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,409 ✭✭✭RobbieTheRobber

Your need to make it about NGOs is the conspiracy Stephen.

431 individuals over 71 days turned back into northern Ireland to have another go another day or maybe even that day is not productive use of the Garda involved Stephen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,696 ✭✭✭Stephen_Maturin

    What’s the conspiracy?
Did the NGO criticise the Garda methods or not?

That’s over 200 people a month, not bad.
Not sure about you but I’m pretty glad they stopped a suspected rapist entering the country illegally? Seems a very productive use of Garda time in fact.

How do you think they should be going about things then?

Is this even an issue you want to see policed? Your posts suggest it’s a bit of a non issue that they shouldn’t be bothering with.

Derail the thread about immigration to Ireland that has videos of Australian fox news talking about the UK?

    Good one!

    It's typical

It’s a shame because I actually would like to have a discussion and hear the thoughts from the other side - but I’ve asked twice now about what he would like to see from the Gardaí to police this and nothing. Stopping a rape suspect seems like a good use of police time but apparently not where Robert is concerned.

Ask him anything outside engagement with his sneering and pedantry and suddenly he forgets about you

A women was raped and your concern is the way a poster quoted something.

It never fails to amaze me how the left are so lacking in compassion for innocent victims, well white and Irish innocent victims.

    My problem is posters lying.

Making up a quote because it suits your agenda is a form of lying.

Should we not try to discuss this issue honestly at that minimum?

Your problem is that you severely lack in compassion.

A person was raped and you got upset about what a poster said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,409 ✭✭✭RobbieTheRobber

This particular line of attack is ridiculous.

The article was not presented because of the unspecified sexual assault.

Not one single poster has posted anything compassionate about the unspecified victim or victims but you are attacking me over a severe lack of compassion.

    Ridiculous.

Attacking the poster and hypocritical nonsense.

    Where is your compassion?

Haha put down the shovel lad, it’s honestly painful at this stage

Did the NGO criticise the Garda methods of apprehension of the suspect on the basis of racial profiling or not?

Guarantee you will not give a straight answer to the above question. Because the genuine, true answer (as you know), is yes. Which is all I ever said is what happened.

Hilarious, you've dug in so much over a point of pedantry that has no material impact on the assertion that was made.

Let’s see if you answer the question, or even contribute in some way to progressing the current discussion of that story. Bet it’ll be more of the same though, more deflectionary BS

    Untitled Image

Why are the powers that be hiring an Indian national with NO connections to Letterkenny be peace commissioner and carry out 'legal functions' ? The Peace Commissioner used to be for local men, and known respected men, community men.

Leaving aside the racist angle you tried to portray on this off topic post do you not think females can become a Peace Commissioner?

The Minister of State with Responsibility for Migration has said that Ireland was not a soft target for those seeking international protection.

Speaking on RTÉ's Drivetime, Colm Brophy said that a fairer system was needed in Ireland.

"It wasn't so much the island was seen as a soft target, but I think what we needed to have was a firm, fair and effective system," he said.

    https://www.rte.ie/news/2025/0714/1523428-international-protection-applications/

I would say we have pasted the point of soft target

Not tell us the full number rejected and have left or rejected and still staying, all paid by us

No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change this World

We have always been a soft target and even more so since O Gorman sent out his tweets back in 2021.

That guy should never be let off the hook on this, he is too afraid to answer awkward questions now though because he has comments turned off on certain topics on his X account.

You made up a quote to suit your agenda. Ridiculous stuff that you can't accept it and move on.

Stephen please go and read the article because you haven't a clue.

Your made up a quote based on the authors opinion not based on the quote from the NGO representative.

To make it easier I have copied the relevant parts from the article

Below highlighted in bold is the authors opinion.

Below highlighted in italics is the quote from the NGO.

    Really basic English comprehension stuff.

I mean the article even highlights the actual quote in quotation marks.

UTV understands that includes the group known as The Firm.

Immigration numbers in Northern Ireland are rising, but remain low leading some to questions whether border checks are racial profiling or an essential tool in the fight against illegal immigration.

Human Rights groups do not believe this is the right way to deal with the issue.

Daniel Holder from the Committee on the Administration of Justice said: "What police services need to be focusing on, of course, is crime and offending on the basis of reasonable suspicion and intelligence, not on what can be, sometimes just essentially routine immigration controls on a, on a land border that is effectively open. "

Here we go again blaming the former minister for children for immigration policy.

You forgot to add the message of support to vote for Fianna Fáil and fine Gael.

    This post reeks of racism.

Why don't you ask them if this upsets you so much?

This was posted because of racism.

No reason was given why this man should not be a peace commissioner except a picture of his obviously non indigenous Irish appearance.

You don't know what Peace Commissioners can and can't do, do you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,279 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

Reads like a man who has done more a public service than most posters on this thread. You seem to have no rationale for targeting him outside of racism. It is saying plenty of the folks who thanked your post though.

This is the extent of his powers "The honorary role will allow Mr Dharmarajan to carry out a range of legal functions, including witnessing signatures, statutory declarations, and the signing of other official documentation.". Why is it an issue for him to be able to do this? Eg the average garda or doctor can do it too.

Of course, if he wanted to know he could ask the authorities but then he'd only get facts that would debunk his racist narrative.

I doubt he read the article or that he even knows what a Peace Commissioner is.

    Absolutely pathetic.

I read the article. Mr. Dharmarajan is incredibly active in the local community:

Mr. Dharmarajan has also held a number of community roles in Donegal, including being a founding Joint Secretary of the Indian Community Centre Letterkenny (ICCL) and the founding President of the Donegal Indian Malayalee Association (DIMA), where he now serves on the advisory committee.

He has also served on the Ministerial Council on Integration for the Connacht/Ulster region, a government-nominated body that advised on immigrant affairs and integration policy, where his contributions included regular consultations with the Minister and advocacy on behalf of immigrant communities.

Through DIMA, Mr. Dharmarajan has collaborated with EU-funded initiatives such as Port na Fáilte to promote cultural diversity. He has helped organise Indian festivals like Onam and Diwali at prominent local venues including the Regional Cultural Centre and An Grianán Theatre, and has actively participated in charitable fundraising events.

    https://www.donegaldaily.com/2025/07/12/letterkenny-software-engineer-ajit-dharmarajan-named-as-donegals-newest-peace-commissioner/

No wonder the right hates him. He cares about others and tries to help the community instead of posting racist and sexist dreck on the internet.

Alarm bells went off when the poster shat out an image rather than linking the article.

Nice to see the true face of the right though.

Why would I, I don't support either of them.

But I hate the left a lot more and never want to see them getting a say on immigration again.

As for O Gorman he should never be let forget he destroyed this country with his stupid tweets inviting the third world over here for a free house.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,113 ✭✭✭Patrick2010

So he had just responsibility for children? Bit disingenuous ?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roderic_O%27Gorman

In February 2021 O'Gorman oversaw the publishing of a white paper outlining the government's plan to abolish direct provision and replace it with a new system to be fully implemented by the end of 2024. Under the new system, those claiming asylum in Ireland will initially be housed in one of six state-owned Reception and Integration Centres with own-door or own-room accommodation. After 4 months, applicants will be housed in the community. Writing in the paper, O'Gorman stated "Each county will be asked to accommodate applicants for International Protection so that the International Protection accommodation process becomes a standard feature of Irish cities and towns and to ensure that applicants do not become ghettoised in any one area"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,695 ✭✭✭tom23

And with that white paper and their not for turning ideological beliefs - the Green Party who ‘everyone’ voted for made a lot of rich people in this country very very rich. Told communities they had no veto. Never ending entertainment on here how the left defend at all costs ogormans performance.

O'Gorman was just the politician who jumped on, and pushed the plan, simliar to Harris and Martin, meer tools of the EU, UN and Wef to push their ever increasing one world vision. Constantly pushing for minorities and diversity, while eroding the individuality of western countries. In there strive for multiculturalism, they are in fact creating a monoculture, where every country and city will look and be the same. And as always is the case, our lot, wanting to be the best boys in class, jump straight in, embracing it with out stretched arms and a firm grip on policy. Unable to admit the error in their ways, or even say, maybe we need to put the brakes on, and evaluate where this all is heading.
