Graeme Bailey (no idea on reliability) reporting that Mbeumo has told Brentford that he wants the deal resolved before Monday.

Al-Ahli have apparently offered Marseille £60m for Mason Greenwood. United I believe get 40% of any profit they make which would mean £14m coming our way.

Hope that's true as reported. I don't like to see players throwing a strop and striking to get a move but no harm in him just letting Brentford know that contrary to what their CEO said the other week, he isn't going to be happy to return.

His goals would have been welcome but we need another prima Donna who argues with the club in public like a hole in the head. Let someone else deal with his tantrums.

    Glazers Out!

The gap between us and Arsenal, City, Liverpool is getting ridiculous, 3 of them are having great windows even Chelsea are getting in quality players

and we're the ones with new owners, we should be going bat **** crazy this transfer window.

the gap is now vast and i dont think our owners have the ambition to narrow it.

Gyokeres only wanted Europe he was never going to join us so don't see why people are getting upset.

And will his goals from the Portuguese league transfer well to the English. I haven't seen him play or the standard of defending in Portugal. Yes he's scored in Europe but so did Hojlund and people are labeling him one of our worst signings.

Club should ask Juventus for Vlahović on loan for the final year of his contract. There's tons of sites with different wages but a few reports have him at €12M for the season. Maybe they meant sterling and that's £250K a week.

That's nothing really to take on for one year given we've got a low turnover to wages ratio and it's basically moving Sancho on and replacing his wages with a player who'll hopefully contribute to the team. Same with Rashford if we can move him on.

Honestly believe just have someone like Vlahović in the door now in case we're scrambling come the end of August.

Whose the other options that are around? Sesko and Ekitike who I doubt would have interest in us and will cost close to a 100M.

Osimhen who I don't know what kind of wages he'd want and some people have made the point that there's a whiff of Paul Pogba off him. Talented player but nobody bar Turkish or Saudi clubs have shown interest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,399 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

I think Osimhen is staying in Turkey for 16m a year.

i dont see anyone upset that gyokeres is going to arsenal.

there was a legit chance we got him if arsenal went for sesko instead.

its also completely fine to be pissed off with the owners. we need to close the gap on those in front, instead that gap is getting bigger.

and dont talk about PSR/FFP (not you, just people in general). if they had the ambition they could massively increase our revenue to let us go spend **** tons of money to try close that ever increasing gap.

It's not that I'm annoyed that Gyokeres is going to Arsenal, it's more just the frustration/jealousy of seeing teams that were our rivals (City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool etc.) able to get their business wrapped up so quickly and easily, whereas we can't do that until we offload a bunch of players that nobody really wants.

Think it’s more the case he’s another target we’ve been linked with who’s now not coming. We badly need a striker to replace Hojlund, a good one with guaranteed goals.

Who else is there, we’re not linked with anyone and time is ticking. Pre season begins tomorrow after our worst season in 30+ years. The squad is in disarray and we can’t shift anyone currently not needed for next season.

I keep hearing that it’s early in the window and no need to panic but it looks like we will be panicking soon when all targets are heading elsewhere - hence why we’re getting linked with the likes of Calvert bloody Lewin. There’s no way I believe that simply because he’s atrocious.

INEOS won't pump too much money into the club until the Glazers are gone and you absolutely know the Glazers won't put a penny to help.

Seeing comments on reddit saying Amorim being set up to fail....

Do these people really think INEOS are plotting a bad transfer window as an excuse to sack him rather than using the finishing 15th as a reason which lets be honest could easily be used.

its a good fee as well for arsenal. i think we may move for watkins now. there's him and vlahovic. dont think any of the other big names are realistic.

CNN Portugal have reported that Gyokeres won't stay at Sporting CP with an agreement worth €75m (£65m) close to being finalised between the two clubs.

The report states that the Gunners will pay €65m (£56.1m) upfront with a further potential €15m (£12.9m) paid in future bonuses. Negotiations are thought to continue on Sunday with the details of how much Arsenal will pay Sporting in future.

It's ridiculous alright. You'd think after finishing 15th in the league, the club would be more proactive than ever in the transfer window and ensure Amorim has all his signings ready to go for preseason. But no. Preseason starts next week and all Amorim has got is one signing and all the deadwood/wasters are still here

Berrada has been talking about planning for the summer transfer window for months but clearly they're failing to execute whatever plan they had.

Apart from Mbuemo, nothing else seems to be happening. What's with United's inability to do multiple transfers simultaneously. It's like they're focusing all the manpower on closing the Mbuemo deal and then once that happens (god knows when), then they'll see what change is left over in the budget before pursuing anybody else.

The club are setting Amorim up to fail. As things stand, I can't see him getting past Christmas based off the current squad and the transfers we've done.

Setting him up to fail lol, i think if there was any truth to that then they wouldn't be looking any further than finishing position last season to justify the axe coming down

How many times do people need to skip over the fact that THE CLUB NEED TO MOVE ON DEAD WEIGHT TO BRING IN NEW PLAYERS. If Mbeumo is signed then Antony, Rashford, Sancho, Malacia, and whomever need to be sold to raise money.

clearly they're failing to execute whatever plan they had.

It's called your dead weight players being hard to shift for whatever reasons. Either they're being greedy, have some notions they'll be a Barca player, or Antony also only wanting one club.

What's with United's inability to do multiple transfers simultaneously.

Just because it's not being printed in the rags or the tap in merchant Fabrizio isn't tweeted about it every couple of hours doesn't mean that stuff isn't being done behind the scenes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,096 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

But we should at least be getting Mbeumo signed now so he can integrate asap rather than delaying it so much. How long does it take the club to make a bid to suit both parties?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,399 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

It's possible Brentford are being difficult or want more money up front rather than installmentals.

Are the club unable to negotiate more than one transfer at a time or what?

Did they not have a list of players done up in March to approach as soon as the season was done with a view to signing.

I know PSR is an issue to work around, but surely our transfer dealings should have been nearly completed by now had we things in order.

I get the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and City have for the most part the reputation to have things down quickly, but everything just seems to be dragging along as usual. I thought the securing of Cunha showed we might have learned a lesson about getting things done, but this dragging along feels frustratingly familiar to the last few years.

Why are arsenal being hailed as a transfer model to beat United with in here? Is it because the media doesn't report every last minute detail? They have singed two players so far if I'm correct. One is a 5m keeper and another transfer that's gone in near 3 months??

I'd reckon mbuemo deal be wrapped up this week I'd be surprised if not. Maybe it's not a factor but he said couple weeks ago on the f1 grid he was on holiday and wouldn't be doing anything until he got back. Who knows.

Getafe get a whack of any profit we make ( I think 40% as well).

We are signing Cuhna and in all likely mbuemo after that we need sales you can't make other clubs buy your players so what deals are there to be done? I'm sure plenty of ground work has been done behind the scenes on other areas but we are stuck until we sell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,909 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

Well it could be a money issue. Wasn't the talk we had the money to sign Cunha and Delap with no sales needed. Mbeumo is costing twice as much and that could be the issue. Trying to work out a structure which favours us.

Players are only reporting for pre season tomorrow so he hasn't missed any integration so far. Think Mbeumo will hit the ground running and won't need much bedding in. When does the team fly to the US?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 928 ✭✭✭jayo44

Nearly sure it was any future profits. Remember reading it last summer but coukd be wrong.

We had about 140m to spend without impacting PSR going by reports in the Athletic etc... I suppose you want to get as much out of the 140 as possible.

Mbuemo really should be done in the next day or two or move on. Gyorkeres I think the interest from the club dropped a good few weeks ago at this stage. Ekitike I think they had serious interest in but the asking price is too high. Delap they also really wanted but he wanted champions league so nothing more they could do there.

If there is a sudden flurry of outs I'd expect the same so happen the other way.

Not sure how much interest the club or Amorim have in loan moves. They want players to come in a fight for the team and be apart of the future. Not stop gaps for a few months to a year.
