Oooft I absolutely bombed the assessments yesterday, I'll not be getting good word I feel, best of luck to those that proceed on though

You're the guy who dropped out of the test, are you?

Anyway, I found the test harder than the one I took for Station Operative.

That test with the faulty open/close buttons really blew my mind.

Does anyone know if I can do a work experience module with Irish Rail (Iarnród Éireann)? It's for a PLC Course. It's a Pre Engineering Apprenticeship Course.

Oh god no, I'd not drop out did the full thing, just know I wasn't on my A game and made silly mistakes

No clue, contact the company themselves mate, be the most straightforward answer you'd get

My hand is wrecked from all of the pages of symbols. Did my test today.
Best of luck to all who are completing the next phase.

I think all Phase 2s assessment are finished now, best of luck to everyone. Even if I don't pass it was certainly an "interesting" experience. I've already had a Leaving Cert style dream about the Phase 1 assessment, hopefully won't be having those for the next 20 years!

Anyone else have math and puzzle questions at the end of their personality questionnaire? Thought it was strange, I didn't see any indication that this would be needed.

Does anyone know if Irish Rail will let students doing a Pre Apprenticeship Level 5 QQI PLC course do work experience within an engineering depot or workshop? It's for a module I'll have to complete.

Ah I didn't get that, unfortunate, but congratulations to you all and best of luck on the next stages 😀

The few questions at end of questionnaire 🤦‍♂️ were a pure mind fcuk that i wasn't expecting I'm throughly sick of exams and questions now... Did many pass?

Those maths questions make you really think.

    But 155 personality questions, jasus.

    Congrats on getting through.

Does anyone know if I can do a module of work experience within Iarnród Éireann? It's for my PLC and according to their child safeguarding they do indeed offer work experience in terms of transition year students. If anyone has any information that would be greatly appreciated as always. Or if you're an employee who works for them, that would be great too. See ya.

Does anyone remember the questions they asked us to fill out which will be talked about in the interview?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,816 ✭✭✭Midnight_EG

    Competencies for Discussion:

    Communication (measured throughout the interview)

    Calm in an Emergency

    Follows Rules and Procedures

    Conscientiousness

    Customer Focus

    Achievement Orientation

Understanding of the Role & Irish Rail

    Thanks for the response!
I can remember there was a question like "a time you handled an emotional situation". There was 6 questions in total, I just can't remember the specific questions, was wondering if anyone would know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,265 ✭✭✭benny79

You will remember them in interview as she reads them out. Interview is roughly about 2 hrs but she has to type your answers. She is there to help you so dont panic. Never had a interview like it to be honest funny & weird at the same time. She never asked anything about the role just the questions you filled out and wants good detail.

Yeah I thought it went OK, however, I received a response yesterday saying I wasn't successful so that's unfortunate.
