Interesting perspective. You have decided, unilaterally, that your private sale vehicle is worth €15K and thats what you want for it.

I guess you could list it at "15K - no offers". If a buyer agrees that it is worth 15K to him then the platform has removed or reduced the risk to the buyer by providing the mechanical inspection and post sale warranty.

All things being equal, if another seller has similar car for sale privately on donedeal for the same price "€15K - no offers" without our safeguards then your car should sell first.

The hope would be that your car will be worth more than the equivalent vehicle being sold elsewhere.

If your private sale car is worth €15K but equivalent from a dealer is €18K then the expectation is that the car increases in value from €15K to, say €16K because of the warranty and inspection - but market value is really just a function of supply and demand at any given point in time. Cars being sold privately on our platform should be more sought after than those sold elsewhere without the safeguards.

Sorry, perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I am a potential customer of yours. In this scenario, I want to use your new service to sell my car, I want to net 15k for it.

How much is it listing on your platform for to cover all the extra services you're offering?

The mandatory 80 point inspection costs €60. This is paid by the car seller to the garage completing the inspection report. Another €10 for the mandatory history check - paid to the platform. There are no other direct charges to you as the seller

if 15k cars are on your site you arent really high value are you ?

Have you worked out how much of a market there is for this service ?

basically people with high end cars who arent happy with dealer trade in values

So it's costing me €60 to list the car, with €10 going to the platform. I've now listed my car and sold it at 15k. I've the money in the bank, the car is gone. Ostensibly this is a private sale so I no longer have any obligations to the buyer. Any problems, I don't hear about them. Is this correct?

Now. I'm taking my seller hat off and am now the buyer.

I've seen a car on your platform I like, it's listed at €15k, which I think is a fair price and one I'm willing to pay and I'm reassured as the car has had an 80 point inspection by a reputable garage.

First question, do I pay the money directly to the seller or does it go through your platform?

Second question, two weeks later, I'm driving and an engine warning light comes on. Who do I contact? Your platform or the garage that completed the inspection?

Third question, who covers the cost of diagnosing and rectifying the issue under the warranty?
