No one will give us a chance in the semis either! Fingers crossed for Tyrone. Few Pina coladas required after that!

I actually cannot believe that. Watched the first half and recorded the second. Was sure after the cagey first half Galway would steamroll us. Definitely thought we were goosed when Galway went a goal up but absolutely wonderful by Morris to win the ball back after their short kick out and then genius by Costello to lay it off for Morris to finish.

Another game I was in bits towards the end. 16 years since our last semi final. Last two, we never showed up so hoping it’s third time lucky.

Donegal it is, probably the best team left, but I have hope.

    Come on the ROYAL!!

We’ll be massive underdogs yet again. But I think the last game we were actually favourites for could have been the Leinster quarter final against Offaly (think it was 50-50 in the Leinster final and against Roscommon) yet we’re still standing.

Today’s was a massive victory, not just to make it to the semi final, but also for this team to actually get a big win in Croke Park which a lot of players wouldn’t have experienced before.

Does anyone know if Rafferty initially went off as a blood sub? His withdrawal coincided with Galway’s turnaround so it really hammered home how important he is.

fantastic win , i was very impressed with adam o'neill i had never paid much attention to him before , super game in midfield , jordan morris is relishing the new game , age is on this teams side so whatever happens this year the furute will be as bright or brighter than today

brendan cawley was mentioned late in the game with the game in the balance today on lmfm , i have no doubt he was smiling down today on croke park

    Great result,some amazing performances.

Taught Rafferty was immense, Galway scored 2-2 when he had to go off (was a blood sub).

Morris was unreal 2nd half. Taught Menton caulfield kinsella had great games too. Connor gray and hickey made a great impact when brought on too.

Think the nerves got to Hogan in 2nd half ,some shocking kickouts one that led to a goal.Taught someone else should of took that 2nd 45 .

Noone will give us a chance against Donegal but these lads just keep pushing on and getting better so ya can't write them off.

Kerry, Donegal, Tyrone, Meath is probably the pecking order. Tyrone would have been the best Match up but there's no guarantee anybody will play aswell the next day.

There could be a huge performance in Tyrone who have been winning without playing out of their skins. Kerry or Donegal might not reach those heights 2 weeks in a row but whatever happens I just hope we get a performance and give ourselves a chance unlike 07/09.

    Donegal top of the betting

    Donegal 11/8

    Kerry 13/8

    Tyrone 7/2

    Meath 10/1

Must say it's great to see all the Meath flags and bunting up around the county. What a year they're having and no reason they can't kick on again next year

I took this from the main football thread and it's why I would have preferred Tyrone.

Shooting efficiency in four Quarter finals this weekend

    Kerry 75% Armagh 52%

    Meath 56% Galway 53%

    Tyrone 56% Dublin 45%

    Donegal 77% Monaghan 45%

I'm still hoarse and really glad I'm off work. What a performance especially in the second half. I was in the upper Canal End and the impact Comer made coming in I was convinced we were sunk. Morris is a magician, he'd a couple of bogey wides first half and it didn't affect him at all. I thought Conor Gray was magnificent and for the 12 months or so he has had I am beyond delighted for him. The squad were training down in the Pats last summer playing a 15 v 15 in house match and he was jogging the line and looked like a shadow of himself, so to come back and make that impact is unreal.

omg lads, what a win! I really wanted us to win that to show we're not just getting lucky wins all year. And I think it did. I was worried during half time, thinking Galway were going to step up another gear and might just go beyond us. The 2nd half was torture! When we got the goal I thought jesus we could kick on here, then they got the goal I thought we're gone now. The Morris (who was outstanding) puts us back in to it again. I wondered what happed with Rafferty too, glad it was a blood sub as I wondering why the hell he was taken off otherwise, some damage caused without him there. So heartening to see that when they were under pressure with 15 to go, they upped the game and I could see they were not panicked at all (I was!!) Its been a fantastic year for us and to see our name in the final 4 is just cracking…Nothing to lose, no pressure for the next game at all, lets see if we can frighten Jimmy and the boys!

Rafferty has to be in the mix for an All Star. Not that all stars matter

When Comer came on he got into an alercation with a meath player, as some said earlier Galway got 2.2 while he was off the pitch when he came back on, he went to Comer and shook his hand, then didn't give him a kick for the rest of the match. CLASS 👌

Regardless of what happens, we really should be getting more than 1 All Star this year. Think Rafferty, Caulfield and Keoghan at least will be there or thereabouts. Caulfield as well, in my view, could be YPOTY at this rate. Had Conlon not been injured, he probably would have been in with a shout.

My wife told me she checked the result prior to me watching the recorded second half so took great pleasure in watching me go through that mental torture knowing what was coming at full time.

Whatever happens between now and the end of our season (however that may come about), we need to build on this. We made the semi final in 2007 and then who can forget those god awful Wexford and Limerick games in 2008. Even though we won Leinster in 2010 after making the semis in 2009, it didn't feel like we really pushed on and fell back again the following years. Now, we've got talented youngsters coming through and we have proven ourselves numerous times against the best teams in the country so we need to aim for division 1 and to stay there.

Brian Menton is nailed on for an all star given the teams he's faced and dominated and always pops up with a few scores.

2 pointers dried up on Sunday for us n we still got the job done. A few lads that usually contribute more to the scoreboard had a quiet day so hopefully croke park jitters are out of their system now. Conlon would have made hay in that first half especially.

Saw Robbie Brennan and ruairi kinsella at a press conference and Robbie bigging up ruairi for an all star, plenty of time for that later imo.

Special thanks (for once! ) for the county board getting Robbie Brennan in, if they had of stuck with o Rourke we'd probably be in the tailteann cup. N god knows how many lads would have quit, gone travelling etc

Yeah i really like Brennans post match interviews but would rather he didnt entertain any all star talk at this stage. Loved the point he made about allowing the players to make mistakes and keep trying, creative mistakes or something like that he said. Very evident with Morris.
