Water stain on ceiling

Hi all,

There is a water stain (light brown in colour) on our ceiling on the ground floor. Picture attached. This stain is immediately below the drainage hole in the shower tray on first floor.

What could be the possible issue? We replaced the silicone between the shower tray and the wall about 6-8 months ago and don't see any breaks in the silicone.

Are you SURE the silicone seal is perfect? The only other possibility is a leak in the waste system, unless there is a crack in the shower tray..

To hide the water mark, paint it with an oil based primer before using the ceiling emulsion.

We redid the silicone and the patch is drying up nicely. It's surprising that there was a collection of water behind the old silicone (when we pierced the silicone, there was a gush of water).

Hoping to use this product. Would it be enough?
