Yes and I’d say the figures on avios that expire because people don’t know that is very high unfortunately

Also very high would be the amount of avios never created because people even who fly a few times a year don’t know or don’t bother with it

I can't log in to the Aer Credit Card anymore. It says username or password is incorrect even though the same login still works on Aer Lingus. I didn't log in there for a while and just tried yesterday to request the annual flights.

Could someone check if it works for you or if it's broken in general?

Not working here either , I logged in two weeks ago no issues

Does anyone know if the Aer Card insurance covers additional costs if your flight is cancelled? I can't work it out.

Flight cancelled due to the ME conflict and airline isn't being helpful. Was just going to rebook another airline but flights are €800

Received a survey invite from BOI yesterday in relation to the Aer CC.

The questions mostly focused on the current benefits and avios. One question asked if I would prefer to earn 1 avios per €2 spend (vs the 1 avios per €4 spend currently) and lose the other current benefits e.g. free flights, lounge passes etc.

I hope the folks in BOI aren't thinking a crazy idea like that is a good one!

Min would be one for one imo

But that still wouldn't offset the loss of the other benefits

I posted this on the aviation forum but maybe some here have come across this before. One poster said you can just ignore and you'll still have the free flights, another said that they lost their flights…

I presume when applying for free flights through the Aer Credit Card Portal that if you're successful you can just ignore/cancel the request if you decide to change your mind? I think it expires after 72 hours anyway.

Reason I'm asking is that it's a bit of a pain waiting to hear back about your request and then trying to sort out accommodation at the same time.

Absolutely. I'm effectively getting 1 for €1 at the moment with Revolut Ultra and RevPoints, actually getting 1.5 for €1 with my Revolut Credit Card. If they got rid of the free flights I'd cancel the BOI card as the free flights the only substantive benefit to me - unless they did as they previously annouced (and rowed-back on) and give e.g. 50,000 avios annually and let people spend this as they wish e.g. reward flights.

    Yes you could just ignore.

While a bit archaic it's not a biggie, submit the request, if approved, book your hotel.

Got 2 flights to Paris in August for just over €108 i think it was, to buy the same flights was €440 (was sceptical about the free flights when I first got the card TBH).

Unless things have changed in the past year, if you apply, and are successful, that's the flights gone - whether or not you take up the offer. Happened a friend of mine. They missed the email, didn't pay within the 72 hours so didn't get the flights, but their 2 free flights were gone then.

It must have changed, if you don't pay for the flights it says they your free fights will be unblocked (ready to use again)

Have to say pretty impressed with the free flights - obviously would be way better if it was done in real time online.

Sent the request Thursday, received an email in the evening confirming it had been sent to the relevant team. Received an email today (Monday) confirming the flights were available and request for payment.

Just priced up the same flights on aerlingus.com - €536.47 round trip for Saver. I paid €23.47.

Very low taxes and charges. What was the route as a matter of interest?

If you've ever priced up LHR for the free flights, their taxes and charges make everywhere else look cheap!

I 'applied' for 2 free flights last year to assess price and availability -they confirmed available and price but, hotel had increased so, asked for other dates and told my flights were gone…

On that point, its a really crap system.

Trying to find some flights for September and there's a particular run of six days that appears to have no availability for any destination, regardless of whether there's only one flight that day or it's a well served route (e.g. Heathrow). Any chance some of these dates free up or do you think it's just been blocked out across the board? Appreciate it's late to be looking to book but didn't think this would be considered peak season.

There must be some event on that week or something? They've quite a few times of the year that are blocked. I'm considering cancelling this and going full on on the Revolut points, and then moving them to Avois points. At least the I can travel wheneever I want, and just get a discount rather than free flights but not being able to go on bank holidays etc.

I get if the event was on in one particular location but for it to block a Wednesday to Monday to every European destination seems a bit odd.

I have Booking.com purchases from mid May which are still showing as "pending" in the AerClub app, is this normal ?

    When is the stay

They are only added after your stay, even if you have paid up front and it's non refundable

So it's I think 30-90 days after your stay

We had a stay at the start of June and it came through about a week ago
