Physio expenses and medical expense claim

Have a fair amount of physio expenses for the last number of years that I was going to put in a claim for tax relief for.

But if I'm reading the revenue website correctly, I seem to need a referral letter from a GP in order to claim. I never went to doctor, just straight to physio, does this mean that I can't claim?

Talk to your GP. Should be easy enough for him to give you a note recommending physio treatment for back. Just then keep it as back up if claim is selected for spot checking.

I claimed for physio tax relief loads of times. Never referred from a GP.

On the subject of medical receipts in general, can anyone recommend a photo editor on Android or windows where I can reduce the mb size and upload them onto the Revenue site. I've a number of receipts and they keep getting kicked back due to their size.

    Thanks.

I just use the snip tool. The image size is grand then

I have a receipts upload issue as well. I have a lot of receipts and see that you're limited to 3 receipts to a max of 2 mb. I've just scanned the first six months of 2024 for medical visits alone and the file is 7mb. What's the snip tool that Aisling referred to? In addition to visits I have a lot of receipts for prescriptions, they're not all from the same pharmacy unfortunately.
