Just curious, what's the price on them and the active ingredient? It is cetirizine or loratadine?
Seems like could be a bargain. I remember the days of having to pay 5 pounds for 7 :(

My TA is pollen forecasts that didn't break down whether it was grass or tree pollen, just giving a H or M.
I found this site which provides a breakdown:

When going for a pee is way more enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding than your career. Not sure if this should be in the annoyance or happiness thread.

Thanks, but it's definitely a cold rather than hay fever. I have a cough, a sore throat, the works. I should probably do a Covid test, actually. It wasn't an issue up to now as I was working from home on Monday and Tuesday and off work for the rest of the week, but I'm supposed to be going out later.

They aren't so much antihistamines. It more "ease your hayfever" stuff. For meds your best bet is going up North.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,077 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

I'll keep an eye out. Chemist Direct special offers arent far off prices in North but the meds leave me feeling stuffed up after a while so alternatives welcome.

people who let their heart rule their head…. But in this case of an hour ago it’s probably a case of ego as much as heart ruling their head and therefore creating quite a dangerous situation for others…….

I'd be surprised if anyone listens to voicemails anymore. Mostly because they are usually a second or two of captured silence as the caller is hanging up. You'd almost have been better following up with a text message.

Not just a distraction, they completely obscure the stage

TA - I'm sort of in room 113 in the hotel I'm in. Just come back from breakfast and idly counted the room numbers 100-112 as I past them, then realised there wasn't a 113 before my room 114. I'm not even superstitious or so I tell people :-)

Losing track of the mouse pointer on the screen and the harder I look the less I see 😁

Try using two screens. You can guarantee the mouse pointer is on whatever screen you aren't looking at :-(

MIL had a flight cancelled by BA last time she was returning to Belfast from London so she declared she will NEVER use them again. So she's decided this year that she'll only fly with Aer Lingus. Which only flies to Heathrow from Dublin. But she's too scared to go to Dublin airport on her own for some reason.

The outcome of this is my husband and I have to take a day off work to drive her down from Belfast, stay overnight in the airport hotel with her and then escort her to the departures gate. I think she knows we're pissed about this but refuses to change her flight. She claims she'll be fine to get back to Belfast on the bus but I'm just waiting for the call to pick her up when she gets back.

We're waiting for Aer Lingus to piss her off next and then she'll never fly anywhere ever again.

I need to show my bank statements for a specific timescale to my original bank. Luckily, I have all but the most current one, and it's not due to be posted for a few weeks. The receiving bank says it has to be a posted statement and not one printed out in the branch. Ta

Tried to get through to the original bank help line this am and there was no option for statements or human interaction, tbf their online staff are good, so I went over to their social media and asked for direction. They sent me a call back link! ta and worse is that in the morning, when I have to be out of the house to follow up on other info for the same deadline, I managed to tie myself to the house by asking for the call-back between 9-2.

Tell her that there's a perfectly good train service that goes from Belfast to Connolly, and a taxi rank and busses to/from the airport right outside. There'll be lots of people with her on the train so she won't be alone. 😁

You are really in #114, you're fine. Room #100 shouldn't exist, because there won't be a room #0 on the bottom floor.

Don't tell the guy in #112, even though I'm expecting its probably too late for him already. Are those sirens I hear?

Dunno if they still do it,but ATM's used to have an option to receive a statement.

they should be able to order an "out of course" statement i.e. all transactions since the last one.

when I was with UB, I got quarterly statements (31 March, 30 June, 30 September, 31 December) but I could ring up and ask for one anytime during that cycle. I remember ringing up in mid-August one year and the statement had all transactions from 1 July to 15 August. The one that was issued on 30 September had all transactions from 16 August to 30 September.

Having said that, if your minibar does this, I'd probably ask for a different room.

Apparently she had a full on meltdown at the weekend when even considering getting the train on her own with her bags. And this is why I'm fully expecting to have to go pick her up when she gets back. 🙄

I'm surprised one of you didn't have to fly with her 😧

TA that I am very tired and headachey today, no idea why. I'm blaming the weather 🌧️

I'm not headachy, but I feel tired and drained of energy, and I'm definitely blaming the weather!

Let him do it. She's his mother and driving her around isn't a two-person job.

Forgot my TA: burned the roof of my mouth really badly last night. Not ideal when I'm going for pizza later 😞

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,115 ✭✭✭CrowdedHouse

I have 3 items in an Amazon cart. I was trying to time the order so that I'd be around when it's due to be delivered. Order today/tomorrow probably but one of the items is showing temporarily out of stock (the most important one at a good price) grrrr…

TA I had a very early lunch and this has now felt the longest afternoon ever - and it's not even 4pm!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,173 ✭✭✭Bogey Lowenstein
That must be Nigel with the brie...

It is usually pizza that burns my mouth. I did it so bad once just before a holiday that the roof was raw all week and everything I ate was hurty. Maybe have some pasta if they do it.

Saw a Dublin Bus yesterday from the rear. Where it normally had the bus number in the small electric panel “Merry Xmas” was written!

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Accident in town earlier involving a pedestrian, whole main street shutdown and I never seen an emergency response like it. And the toxicity of social media reared its ugly head again.

If it wasn't people complaining on FB about the gridlock, it was others speculating about there being a fatality, but the worst was apparently people taking photos of a distraught vehicle driver sitting at the scene with their head in their hands. Idiots the lot of them.
