There is now a standard of speech that Trump and consequently his supporters now use on a regular basis. The rest of us might see it as the illiterate spite filled ramblings of a sulky teenager (sorry teens) with the vocabulary of a 7 year old (sorry 7 year olds). It has gone a very long way toward the dumbing down of communication and discourse.

And the kicker is that Rutte's grovelling looks like a pathetic exercise in futility, anyway. When he was asked if he would commit to NATO's article 5, Trump said, "Depends on your definition…"

In other words, in case you needed confirmation, the U.S. would not help its NATO allies in any serious way if they were attacked. If Russia attacked a Baltic country next year, Trump would probably make some half-hearted attempts to mediate before blaming said Baltic country for provoking Russia in some way (i.e. by existing) and further condemn their intransigence in not immediately agreeing to all of Russia's punitive demands.

Really, Europe's biggest security guarantee right now hasn't much to do with U.S. friendship and much to do with Russia being so bogged down in Ukraine that opening a fresh front with a European country is just out of the question. But the problem is that Putin can ramp up his bullying rhetoric against Europe with a heavy subtext of 'I have far more nukes than you do…'.

And just for the record, Trump already accused both Israel and Iran of breaking the ceasefire…

I'm not posting in bad faith. I'm giving Trump credit he fully deserves. When he doesn't deserve it I say it.

I can't understand the visceral uncontrollable rage he sparks in some who are unable to give him credit for anything.

    Very odd behaviour.

As for AOC he's right to identify today the fact she isn't highly educated or that bright. It's just stating fact.

    Exhibit 1

In many ways Trump is doing Democrats a favour for which they should be grateful imo. If she gets close to nominee for President they face another self inflicted disaster.

Doubt very much he is writing this stuff, he cannot concentrate that long, he has enough trouble trying to verbalise a single sentence.

The nation which gifted him the Boeing can assist him in bringing Netanyahu to heel as they were Donnie's reported partner in the peace deal. They've been made look equally stupid by Netanyahu. Trump has an attack dog in his V/P, time to let him loose on the Israeli Ambassador to the U.S and let Rubio loose on the Israeli Ambassador to the U.N in New York, remind them co-operation is a two-way street.

The U.S closed its embassy in Jerusalem the other day because of the Iranian attacks, was supposed to re-open today [I think]. The U.S can send a signal to Netanyahu by keeping it closed for a few extra days [an extension to 2 weeks would be a clear Trump signal].

AOC attended Boston University, where she double-majored in international relations and economics, graduating with honors.

Spoken like a true Trump fanatic. The only fact here is that she graduated from Boston University getting a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics.

Trump on the other hand, claimed he graduated with first class honours from Wharton…but records show he was not on the deans list and did not graduate with honours. A former professor described him as, and this is a quote, “the dumbest goddamn student I ever had”, referenced here -

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Q: When is a ceasefire not a ceasefire? A: When the two countries observing the reported ceasefire are slinging missiles at each others cities and towns and civil populations.

AOC is basically everything he isn't. Where he was handed everything and spaffed most of it away, she had to work to earn what she has. No wonder he hates her.

Man the right get so unbelievably "triggered" by her.

It essentially boils down to "how dare she be smart, hot and good at her job". They are so threatened by everything she is because she is a product of the upward mobility they secretly hate. She is Angela Rayner with the added "horror" of being not white.

Did anyone from Iran announced that there was a ceasefire ?

Because if they didn't there wasn't a ceasefire so they couldn't have broken it.

And anyone who says they did is undiplomatic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,430 ✭✭✭✭VinLieger

The irony being that upward mobility is what the claim to be all about, the "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality. She embodies that ideal absolutely, but you are right they secretly actually hate to see it in action and especially so when its been achieved by a rather attractive ethnic woman who doesnt seem to be afraid of them.

My favourite is still way back when they tried to discredit her with a cute video she and her friends made in college.

    No he doesn't.

He can simply cut off the supply of arms. That would leave Germany and Italy under massive EU pressure to do likewise.

Or deploy the kill switches on previously supplied US equipment.

Or stop using US assets to assist or protect Israel.

Or freeze the US assets of Israeli politicians.

    Or put tariffs on oranges.

    Anything other than chickening out.

A cease-fire that is unlikely to last. You're a classic case of somebody who praises everything Trump does. The reality is Trump has dragged the US into a conflict in the middle east.

Jasmine Crockett must not be very bright either with her MBA and law doctorate. You're just embarrassing yourself.

So, she's not well educated? What about yerself? You realize that where she graduated from, summa cum laude, is Boston University, which is ranked #86 worldwide, while Ireland's best Uni, TCD, is #205.

Oh, Trump has a degree from UofP where he paid others to take his exams.

Get up the yard, you like Trump are just triggered by a successful, intelligent woman. Get used to her, she's likely to be elected to the Senate from NY when/if she chooses to run, being coy waiting on Schumer to hang it up I think.

Why are people,.. actual thinking people.. bothered to interact with such stupidity? Why should they respond when the damage is being inflicted on them and not you?

Trump being played like a fiddle by Israel and yet people are hailing this as a "major foreign policy success". Jesus wept.

I'd wager that over 12 years of Trumpism the cohort of MAGA that held any remnant of independent thought has been eroded to insignificance. It's no longer a movement with a certain set of common beliefs and orthodoxies that Trump heads, it's now the cult of Trump: whatever he does, whatever he says. If he changes his mind on any subject, contradicts something he proclaimed a year or a month ago, the the majority will just pivot to follow him, using the most bizarre mental gymnastics as required. "The Leader knows best, who are we to question him".The dissidents will grumble and keep their mouth shut. Only a tiny minority will rebel. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

To me that's not speechless because of a lack of intelligence, it's control over being frustrated by someone being purposely obtuse in order to defend the indefensible. Better than your dear lord, the Orange Toddler, who would just throw a tantrum.

As others have commented she did not only graduate from Boston summa cum laude, it was a double major. Economics and International Relations, ironically, 2 things that the Orange Toddler has demonstrated complete ignorance of many times over.

She also competed in, and came second in her section, in the International Science Fair when she was 18. That is no mean feat. Each year about 7m participate for a chance to become one of the 1800 odd finalists. That's a pretty significant achievement.

But it's pointless comparing her intelligence to The Orange Toddler's anyway, most human's are way out of his league. He'd be closer to my 3 day old smelly sock, he might win that competition.

So it seems that possibly Trumps "spectacular military success" and that "Iran's nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated" might only have set them back months, not even years

    https://edition.cnn.com/2025/06/24/politics/intel-assessment-us-strikes-iran-nuclear-sites

I'm shocked he got it so wrong, again

She has spoken on countless occasions with integrity and insight and isn't afraid to call out the elite and this administration. Anyone can compile a video of some mistakes. Dosent make your accusation true. Granted she wouldn't get elected as president but she's a proper politician.

The reasons she'll never get elected President have absolutely nothing to do with her Intelligence or her political abilities.

The US has been supplying Israel with weapons to kill innocents and children in Gaza. Trump and the US have plenty of blood on their hands.

    Trump is a deranged despot.

Leaked intelligence report suggests that the strikes at the weekend did not destroy Iran's ability to develop their Nuclear program.

Caroline Leavitt simultaneously said that the report was false, and confirmed that it was a true leak suggesting it is accurate.

The caps button on Trumps phone is in for a rough night.

And I would place a good bet, that the Iranians moved them when they could read his tweets out in the open, like the genius that he is!
