also which buses are 155 and 157 because I heard one of the drivers mentioning last week that there was an engine swap going into 157. I check every number that I’ve seen in the redcow and couldn’t find it if you know.

Doubt 157 will get a new engine at this stage! 155 is finished, you should see how decapitated it is up at their yard

BE is trying to win the contract for the 310 route but whoever wins the contract will start in April

That would be an easy win for BÉ if they manage it to get it off DC's hands.

Have you any idea when this contract will be announced between now & April?

I think early this year it's supposed to happen but it's definitely up for tender - or will be!

If you look at this though- DC have lost the 816 route and now about to loose the 310, by the way things are going on in Limerick, it looks like they know they're loosing it anyways!

Both sprinters are back now - sure they don't need the sprinters anymore anyway!

is there any planes to replace them or no

Does it really matter? This lot could have a full fleet of shiny brand new 2025 vehicles and the service would still be abysmal, driving standards shocking, and maintenance apparently non-existent until they collapse on the motorway/side of the road.

Best thing that could happen would be that their routes/licenses are pulled and given to a proper operation.... But for some reason, despite all of the above and constant complaints about them, they're still going.

This being Ireland, I can only assume that it's a mixture of regulatory laziness, incompetence and connections. They're actually running dangerously defective vehicles and standards yet they seem to be untouched by the supposed rules around the provision of such services.

has DC lost the contract for the 310 now or are they still using it as we’re in may and it was supposed to end in April?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 113 ✭✭AX612

Saw that Scania Irizar this morning fleet number 410. It's now wrapped green, previously with Extreme Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 160 ✭✭Jameslee23

are all the single decker off the 310 now

Hi guys, I am flying out of Dublin airport at 7am next week for family holiday.

I was considering getting the 4:15 "big green bus" from red cow luas to the airport.

Having read some comments about reliability I'm wondering if this is a bit too risky - I don't want to left in red cow with wife, kids, suitcases and no bus!

Depending on where you're coming from to Red Cow, I'd rather get a Dublin Express bus from Heuston Station if possible.

I was going to drive to red cow and leave car there. maybe I'll just drive to airport so and pay the exorbitant car parking rates
