Got a comfortable silver in the Merc at Monza, 1:50.6. Could possibly push for gold, could make up 1 second according to my lap data, mainly at the hairpins and final bend. Lovely car to drive.

Got silver on Red Bull too, comfortable 1:31.5. Again, could definitely get gold if I kept at it, but i find the longer I try the worse I get. Happy enough to be in the top 4% though, for someone who rarely plays these days. Another lovely car to drive, the Evo Final.

Have bronze at Le Mans, 7 seconds off silver and it takes so long to correct a mistake that it puts me off trying!

I did at 45min stint at Le Mans last night and finally got the gold. My opportunity time was half a second faster than gold for ages but its very hard to get a full lap together.

They are **** with us now. 8 and a half minute laps. Gold might be easy to get since we'll be going so slow.

Well we won't be going around the Nordschleife 'Swiftly' then.

I'm actually really excited about it! There's just something better about driving a car I could potentially own in real life. Horsing a Group car around the track is good craic, don't get me wrong, but my favourite laps in this game are the many laps I've done in "normal" cars around the Ring. Just did a few in the standard Evo IX last night, savage car and great fun.

Saying that, I gave up on silver on the Le Mans challenge, got to within a second of silver but lost interest due to the length.

Surely these modern crossovers are nothing more than advertising at this stage? They're all very samey and I know people like to drive their own car in the game but there's probably feck all demand for a Peugeot 2008 crossover. I drove a 181 model for 6 months and it was one of the worst cars I've ever driven. At least give us something quirky like a Brabus, Alpine BMW, Up GTI etc.

Ok, so did about 8 laps last night on the Ring in the Swift. First lap I managed a 8:43 so a bit off silver. A few laps later I did manage a 8:35 but I just went outside on the second last bend to ruin it. I think I finished last night with a healthy 8:39 but there's definitely room for improvement. I'll give it a few more attempts before it's up, you can really horse the Swift around some of the bends! Staying in 4th coming out of most bends seems to help somewhat.

Didn't bother with the weekly challenges in the end. Meh races in meh cars for a paltry 800k. Not to mention I had to drop 550k on the stupid Ferrari so I'm actually down money because i couldn't have been bothered with the last 2 races. And my daily challenge was an invite to buy a Veyron I already own… Thanks Polyphony!

Its so frustrating that the roulette prizes don't look into what you are missing. For my last remaining café menu Ferrari, I've seen the invite twice in a year and was one away on both occasions. The thing is, as this is an invite, its not like its encouraging me to buy credits. I'm blocked here for no ones benefit.

Yeah - the spend 550k on a Ferrari to complete this challenge was a bt annoying. I did, obvs, because I can't resist a cheklist.

The invitations to buy cars should be scrapped imo.

Is anyone actually asking for those wahnkerwagons? Like seriously, in the entire world of automobiles, I seriously doubt anyone actually wants these balls of shyte. Money is a great thing to be able to make game devs realistically create these... like, unless they add flipping over mechanics, they're still not real... at least we get a rally Intergrale.

I am thrilled the Delta HF Integrale is added. A very successful Group A rally car.

I was hoping the Citroen would have been the BX 4TC (a Group B flop).

I definitely won't be buying the Peugeot.

I've just read a bookface post where theres a new tune for the Volvo V70 for one of the 500k races. May give it a go, the 2m i got for gold in the Red Bull Gr3 race is burning a hole. Just have to do it 20 times before the Merc leaves the fancy showroom.

Doing 2, 3 races in a row at Fuji this week has me sweating to be honest. although i never had that issue racing on the tv,

Using PSVR makes them long enough for me i think.

Also if you are starting mid pack and get wrecked by someone which is very common, if the races were longer then driving around in last place trying to catch up for 50-60 mins would be tough, would see a lot more quitting during races.

Now longer races in a league are brilliant where you are racing week in week out with the same group and can actually have penalties and reviewing of incidents on a forum like GTPlanet or something.

That's how i mainly raced in GT5 for a year or 2 we, had a weekly race in a league with 2 groups, Slower/new racers group and faster group, top places and lower places ranked of each group got promoted demoted after each season, Set PP and full setup in GT500's, practice freely during the week, with qualifying at a set time for an hour an then race for an hour, mixing up with rolling starts and grid starts, was the business ,competitive and clean, with disputes discussed in the forum and penalties handed out.

Any tips for the 5th weekly race? I've only managed to get 6th with the Supra GT500. Tried a few others to worse effect, and they must have nerfed the RCZ, used to be my go to for 600pp races. The Porsche VGT seemed good but the battery only lasted 2 laps...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,281 ✭✭✭✭Jordan 199

You must have got a 'shock' when the battery in your Porsche lasted only two laps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,885 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

    It was very draining tbh

I'm currently at ~16M credits and have 2 Gold time trials queued up. The Merc could disappear before I get there tho.
