They should just get it over with. Isn't Rashford still technically a Villa player until June 30th so the jersey is vacant. Also doubt he's gonna be gone before we play our first game of the pre season. Doubt Cunha will wear a different number until Rashford leaves. That's if the 10 jersey is being given to Cunha.

    Cunha's interview.

Really looking forward to seeing him in action. Speaking of his love for untied growing up in Brazil, how easy it was to choose United, his desire to put us back on top.

This is the mindset we need.

We were on a trip over there a few weeks ago with the young fellas football team. We did a tour of the etihad. When the guide was giving us all his spiel about them extending the stadium one of the young fellas down the front stuck his had up and asked "why do ye want to make it emptier" 😂

It will fuel the social media, which will in turn into a spiral of noise how eager United want rid. He'll end of leaving for a box of pringles, wasabi flavour and an out of date diet lilt.

Pretty sure his focus is more on the London clubs so that's where his sources would be. He would be looking at this from the Brentford side and not typically from the united side of things

I think the Athletic are a good media outlet overall (why wouldn't they be, given they poached most of the top journalist talent) but I do dislike the way their subjective opinion pieces are captioned in the same way as their factual pieces are (concrete interest from clubs in players, bids, stumbling blocks etc.).

It's like they present their subjective opinion pieces as tablets of stone when on many occasions they are anything but.

Apparently Gyokeres has said NO to united according to Record in Portugal (Portuguese media not being the most reliable I know) and throwing his eggs in the arsenal basket. If true move on and get Oshimen ASAP no point in dithering and waiting for a Gyokeres U-turn. Just follow the Cunha template and sign players with the united mentality

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,237 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Just curious, how has Osimhen shown a united mentality?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,656 ✭✭✭Cotts72

I more so mean players that want to play for united ...despite European football etc

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,237 ✭✭✭Iseedeadpixels

Sorry I should have said any links to him saying this? Is he a united fan?

do we think rashford has been told to find himself a new club?

as in, you wont be playing this coming season and we wont be loaning you. your price is approx. £40m, and we wont be subsidising your wages. so find a new club, negotiate whatever wage you like with them, or dont play any football for the season.

i think that line needs to be taken with him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,843 ✭✭✭johnnyryan89

United are eager to get rid and Rashford is eager to leave. Everybody and their dogs already know this.

I doubt it because we'll never shift him on without having to compensate or subsidise somewhat. Unfortunately I can see Rashford's end to United going the way of Sancho with a new loan once a season.

Unfortunately we live in a world where what we, our postman and our postman's cat know is less significant to what is said across social media.

the question is, who wants rashford to leave utd more.

if its the club, then rashford will have leverage over them.

however if its the player (cos he wants to play, wants to try get into the squad for the world cup) then the club will have leverage over him and should use it.

i would suspect he wants to leave more than the club want him gone.

Tbf Rashford is fighting out with Sterling, Sancho and Grealish for any team that wants to loan a comically overpaid, completely unwanted English winger, who woulda thought that'd be its own little market category!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,845 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

I actually feel sorry for Grealish. He was huge in their treble winning season. Seems to have fallen out with pep. Think he'd do great at a place like Newcastle.

spurs are going making tel permanent (surprised TBH - 3 goals, 1 assist in 20 games) for a decent fee: Club to club agreement almost done for €35m plus €10m loan fee and €5m add-ons.

even if mbeumo was interested in spurs, i dont think they go for him as they have adequate squad depth across the attacking line, particularly johnson and kulu on the right.

Very excited to see him in action with the UTD jersey.

He carries the ball very well going forward and is an absolute threat.

You hear him speak and it's the absolute profile of player we need, for the badge and what it means.

Others will say it's for the pay rise but not something id believe. He could of gotten the same somewhere else to what UTD offered.

A player like Hojlund would thrive off him because of the way he drives in to the box.

Cuhna has me giddy. For me, the most exciting signing we've had in years.

The latest on Gyokeres according to The Times

    IMG_9986.jpeg

If he prefers Arsenal, fair enough. He might end up stuck at Sporting if Arsenal don’t sign him now.

Arteta supposedly isn't keen on him and prefers Sesko. If you're going to publicly state a preference for a club you'd want to be sure they actually want you there.

But like Rashford wanting a move to Barcelona.

Very odd behaviour from Gyokeres and his agent thus far. Will likely be an ongoing issue for whatever club the ends up at.

    Glazers Out!

Gyokeres for the money being quoted is a big no no from me, His main attributes are brute strength and running the channels, he is soon to be 27, add in all that and for 70 million it is a no from me, it is telling that none of the other big European teams are sniffing around him, I think this could be a bullet dodged, but I worry if some of the scouting people think he was the right fit for us….

En-Nesyri. Goals. Would be cheap as chips. It's odd that clubs aren't looking at him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,070 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

Just sign Mateta and Mbeumo and that's up front sorted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,845 ✭✭✭AidoEirE

I think Zirkzee could work well off Cuhna and Mbeumo. Zirkzee a false 9 with the one of the 2 going forward. Zirkzee a very tidy player and could feed the no.10's

My fifa legend, surprised he went to Fenerbache last summer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,716 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

    a small update on onana.

While he awaits a final verdict on his future, Onana has returned to Cameroon to represent the Bertrand Traoré Foundation, and it was during an event that the United goalkeeper was asked bluntly whether he will still be at Old Trafford beyond this summer.

“Will I leave?” Onana laughed. “I don’t know, we’ll see.”

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,201 ✭✭✭Jofspring

Surely Gyorkeres main attribute is finishing chances no? That's been our biggest problem and he has finished over 100 in the last two years.

I'd take the article with a pinch of salt. Only a few days ago he apparently said he wanted United. Now he supposedly said he wants arsenal. He himself put up the other day that there have been lots of lies said and he will speak himself when ready.
