Yes. In that case it would be €99 for phone + €200 booster, meaning €100 payable and possibly ~€20 for the sim+topup

The online calculator. I know, that they dont take all phones from that online tool. Its samsung s20 ultra 5g

    You might be lucky

Yes, they checked it worked. I'd already paid for the new phone when he said the charging port wasn't working well. I played dumb - I barely got it charged enough to bring it into the shop! Delighted with my new phone.

Does anyone know if a Samsung J3 2017 is accepted as a trade in?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,683 ✭✭✭Del007

I picked one up today. They tried to convince me that my sim card wouldn't work in it.

I told them that I had only just paid a months credit and will come back in 4 weeks to change over lol

I think with the Vodafone app you can get the 4 free tickets per month on a Tues for 6 months after you get €20 credit for anyone who was made get the credit and had a plan activated. A way to try get the spons back

Best bet is get the IMEI number off phone so they can check their system first . They don't the physical phone for this

Just wanted to let folks here know that I tried to trade in below phones in Vodafone Omni Santry with no luck. They do go through the list on the system.

I was told wider range of samsung phones from last 5 years are okay for trade-in and Iphone 11 and above with 2020+ SE models.

    Samsung Galaxy J6+

    IPhone 5s

    Nokia 6310

    Motorola G5s

    Huawei P8 Lite

    Redmi A2

    Huawei Y6

Used an old (2019) Samsung galaxy a51 today and it was accepted

Traded in an old iPhone I had lying around, got 241 off in total. Happy with that, thanks for the deal 🙂

I traded in a Pixel 4A for the Pixel 9A in Vodafone Grafton Street.

I got 215 EUR for the Pixel 4A. More than I expected.

Vodafone insisted that I purchase a top up. I should have disputed this.

I have an issue where my 48.ie sim will not work in the Pixel 9A. From researching online, the issue seems to be that the Pixel 9A requires a class C sim card. And I guess my 48.ie sim is not class C. I have ordered a replacement sim card and hoping that fixes the issue.

    400 - 215 + 20 = 205 EUR. Bargain.

Traded in a 3a this morning at the Oliver Plunkett St, Cork shop.

Told them it was a gift for my wife who is on the Vodafone network and the sales assistant was happy with that - no mention of having to purchase credit or a new sim card.

    400 - 200 - 16 = €184

I'm with 48 and had no issues. If you activate the Vodafone sim as an esim you can free text the free competitions numbers as with 48 you can't. I rang Vodafone on the Vodafone sim to activate it as an esim.

Pixel 9a Case – Google Store

Premium option from Google for €35 with free delivery, but you can get silicone on Amazon for €10. Depends on what style you are after. I like the silicone ones.

Same issue with me, on 48 and not recognising the sim. I've ordered a replacement Sim too. I contacted a previous poster who said the replacement Sim sorted out the issue for them so we should be ok.

I had to get a new sim from gomo for my dad's phone, it worked no problem

Got this otter box one from Amazon, it's been good...already took a few knocks

My wife went for the phone today and was told it would be locked to VF for a period of time the length of which the agent couldn't or wouldn't confirm. She managed the trade in on her old galaxy a12 with the guy saying "I'm giving you 201 Euro for your old phone". I had a laugh at that.

As we have bb and home phone with vf she agreed to a red plan which will cost an average of 15 Euro for 12 months.

Tried a Xiaomi 10t pro and got turned down in Henry at. Suggested I do it online which shows it being accepted but they couldn't help in store

    Hi.

Anyone knows if galaxy s25 will locked to Vodafone?

Thanks for this, just booked a couple of tickets for Mission Impossible next week. Deffo takes the sting out of the forced €20 Top-Up!

Anyone know if you can bring in a phone with an unresponsive/damaged screen (i.e. not working). Daughters Samsung A15 screen has given up the ghost - its been cracked for some time and has now become unresponsive.

It depends on the shop. Some just looked for IMEI but I think most shops do a test to check if the phone works. A few have got it with a working yet cracked screen. I had a completely dead pixel 6a they wouldn't take.
