III Armored Corps, mainly 1st Cav Division and 4th ID, are making the majority of it. Standard, common or garden soldiers, doing their job.

On the plus side, they're out of Fort Cavasos, so they're getting an extra couple of reps at railheading, a skill which never gets enough practice.

Maybe not themselves, but their militia will be very well armed.

In most wars and conflicts, the people actually doing the fighting are men between 16 and 30. The people who have no concept of their own mortality and would be very vulnerable to peer pressure and to make a name for themselves in a mass movement. Trump and MAGA have been radicalising young men with a majority of influencers leaning to the right and a clear alt right pipeline that pulls viewers towards this type of content in the algorithms

A lot of these gun stockpilers biggest fantasy is to be the head of a militia of young fighters, they can hand out the guns, tell them where to go and who to shoot and act the big men

I'm just not seeing it. MAGA are the biggest crowd of cowardly traitors going.

What I think is much more likely will be civil disobedience and states refusing to pay up to Washington, namely blue ones. It'll be interesting to see how red states cope without their handouts.

Well what did people think Musk's schoolboy tech wizards were doing in the weeks leading up to the election?

Next step. The MAGA secret police. If its not there already.

Have all your years of service being for this? I'm not being intentionally personal by asking that question.

It's something I would like to ask of any active military person right now

And I don't expect you to answer it. I just hope you have asked yourself

You are making a lot of assumptions there.

Can you clarify if you think Elon has skills that enabled him to become the richest man in the world or not?

The original question was regarding whether or not Elon had the ability to mount a political challenge to MAGA and I stand by my original post on this which is what kicked off this little sub-thread.

He's an exceptionally rich man , having started life as a very rich man.

He became exceptionally rich not by being some kind of genius inventor/visionary as he would like to be thought of but by being a cold calculating corporate raider - He spotted opportunities with existing companies and bought in to them and then squeezed out the founders and any other obvious "leaders" so that the companies would be Elon companies.

So yes , he has skills , of course he does - But those skills are going to be F*ck all use to him in trying to build a political movement in the way that Trump has because he is a complete charisma vacuum and of late, a drug addled mess.

His money will allow him to buy influence of course, but remove the money and no one would give a toss what Elon might have to say.

If the old saying is "How to win friends and influence people" for Elon it will only ever be "How to BUY Friends and Influence people"

I dont think anyone cheering MAGA has any business mentioning anything to do with "upholding the law", or "honesty".

What is the truth and what is the law depends on Trumpy's current mood.

Indeed, some Trumpers were chanting "dictator from day 1".

MAGA as a cult doesn't care about the method.

It has never been about "Law and Order" it has only ever been about getting their way.

Laws are to be used to constrain others , not them.

    I wasnt actually, mon ami.

It was clearly in reference to the Democrats and them labelling riots, arson, looting, murder, and 2 billion dollars of damage as peaceful protests.

The "Peaceful Protests" nonsense is being mentioned again.

Orwell was right "The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and your ears. It was their final, most essential command".

Why do people continually try to misrepresent what I say ??

    I never said he wouldnt.

I was clearly referring to the Democrats and left view observers trying to label riots, looting, arson, and murder as "peaceful protests".

It also applies to the Democrats and others reiterating Biden was as sharp as a tack when he was anything but.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 17,332 ✭✭✭✭MisterAnarchy

    You misread what I implied.

Its quite clear what I said.

The "Peaceful Protests" nonsense is being mentioned again.

    Thats it exactly.

Riots are peaceful protests if its left minded protestors involved.

Why do your posts continually misrepresent Democrats and give a free pass to Trump's lies?

All the time, trying to obscure the bigger picture of what's actually going on here, Trump's fascist abuse of power.
His actions here have nothing to do with law and order, for all the reasons given about Trump's own conduct contrary to law, order, respect for the courts and democracy - on which you are silent.

Which is a textbook example of "the party" telling the people to reject the evidence. Indeed, further, assaulting the very principle of evidence and truth. The open lies of Trump, Vance, and his cabinet are irrefutable proof of that.

    Thanks for that reply.

My point was specifically about implying Musk had no skills which is ludicrous.

Even if wealthy, identifying and buying businesses, growing by hiring the right people, selling at the right time, is a skill.

I had no interest in the MAGA or alternative political party part of the discussion.

    Im not misrepresenting Democrats.

They clearly lied about Bidens condition and tried to conceal it from the public for years.

They continually labelled riots, arson, looting, and violence as "Peaceful Protests".

They even encouraged people to donate money to bail out these rioters so they could reoffend and kill.

The Democrats are the ones doing the misrepresentation not me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,987 ✭✭✭yagan

So do you think Republicans are lying when they say Trump isn't bat shít crazy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,758 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Nope. Just more misrepresentation of Democrats and an attempt to divert focus away from what Trump is doing right now and the character of the President.

Trump is president now. Not Biden. A convicted felon, a proven liar who tried to steal an election with threats and violence.

And once again zero attempt at holding Trump to account for his lies. The same Trump who said sending in the National Guard without Governor approval would be an abuse of power.

Positive proof this is just a pretext for a partisan attack on Democrats, nothing more. Nothing to do with any real concern for law, order or respect for the courts.

There is fake news about bail which has been discredited multiple times already on the thread. Donations were made to a general fund which pays bail and has been in operation before the BLM protests.

    https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check-did-kamala-harris-back-bail-fund-murderers-rapists-1754314

There were many peaceful protesters caught up in the arrests who were subsequently found innocent or when it came to court the charges were dropped. If you oppose their bail, you advocate for them to be punished with detention merely because they could not afford bail.

It is clear that is who Democrats were referring to and eg Kamala Harris condemned any violence.

So which person involved in the protests on bail for murder (kill again) specifically had Democrats trying to raise bail for them? It is your claim and it sounds like a MAGA fabrication.

Also bail is a fundamental part of the law and order system and guilty until proven innocent. So again your posts advocate not for law and order.

The Pentagon said the deployment of National Guard members and Marines to protests over immigration raids in LA will cost $134 million.

In this instance, it's Trump that California and LA authorities have to deal with and, where necessary, to confront legally. That's no small matter. His mouth has put him where he is, bringing about the present hiccup in federal/state cooperation. Odds on the locals at both federal and state agency level are probably still keeping the local wheels turning, only at a quieter level, knowing there are non-locals temporarily present in the offices.

You know that when an MP walks into an office, there's a sudden hush and a runner heading off to the CO with the bad news.

In passing, I see occasional short videos of US Cav Armour and ancillary mechanical vehicles on lengthy train movements. Embarking & disembarking the vehicles off the carriages is probably an art-form in itself.

We are reading your posts as they are, and it is very clear 1984 is not on your read list.

As for you trying to say it was the Dems, well, there is a quote for that for you as well “We do not merely destroy our enemies; we change them.”

Again, this started when ICE raided a Home Depot and took people. This is not what Trump said he would do so don't try and play that card.

Trump supporters such as yourself, already have their minds made up. You throw in an Orwell quote and it is a comical own goal. Keep us entertained, but don't take us for fools.
