Dyness Battery Discharge Rate (Solis Inverter)

    Hi

I have a Solis hybrid 5kw inverter with 2 x 5kw Dyness batteries. My batteries will only discharge at a maximum rate of ~3.5kw. If the panels are not generating any solar and the house load is around 5kw then the inverter will take 3.5kw from the batteries and 1.5kw from the grid.

How do I configure the inverter to take what it needs from the batteries without going to the grid unless it reaches the 5kw inverter limit?

You can’t. There is a max output from the batteries that an inverter can take at a time and another max output from the inverter to supply the house.

Those two limits vary with your equipment. There are posts here with similar setups that illustrate.

If it's a 5kw hybrid it should be able to pull 5kw from batteries.

Check your charge/discharge settings on the inverter and make sure they are both 100A

depending of the charge of the batteries BMS might be limiting that.
also, cables used on the batteries might be limiting.

First is to check BMS values to confirm 100A is active

Thanks for the replies. Turns out that Solis have overall control of this. I spoke to my installer who contacted Solis. They changed the max discharge rate at their end and the battery is now discharging at up to 5kw. Me changing the discharge settings on the app has no effect.
