WWDC next week, really looking forward to this.

Reports say a full redesign of the OS across all platforms.

VisionOS26, supposed to have a big emphasis on gaming?

    Lets see what Monday holds.

As an  fanboy, I'm also looking forward to tonight announcement but I feel another let down coming. Apple really seem to have lost their edge in my opinion and I could be proved wrong. Everything is buggy and a new skin on the OS is not going to make this any better. The ongoing spat with the European regulators, which reduces functionality, is certainly not helping either 😐️

I wonder are we going to get some of the Apple Intelligence features that never actually made it?

VisionOS should be big too, fingers crossed.

I think too a lot of the focus will be on gaming, it’s a market Apple have been trying to break into for a long time. I don’t think there will be much said about Vision OS, apart from its style now being carried over to Apple’s other product lines. I dunno where they might go with Apple Intelligence, they might want to avoid it altogether for fear it will undoubtedly draw attention to their previous over-promising and under-delivering. They might just leave any Apple Intelligence features till the announcement of the new iPhone later in the year (I could see Apple naming it the iPhone 26 to correspond with the rest of the branding makeover).

    You think?

I think Vision has been a massive flop for them and Apple are back to the drawing board on that, I'd be surprised if there's anything substantial spoken about. It's a confused and incredibly expensive mess.

They need to give something to the early adopters who paid top dollar to get the original run of units, their excitement will them give them support to produce a cheaper "SE" unit for the regular consumers.

I bet this f1 movie is going to be an immersive movie for VisionOS.

It really is amazing how all these people can use a load of words yet saying nothing.

Logitech Muse and PSVR2 controllers can be used with VisionOS26.

Okay, iPadOS26 looks like a complete game changer.

They’ve been talking about making it more like MacOS for a long time. I really like the implementation. It looks like it’ll be a big help for those using iPad for work.

It's as close to having macOS on iPad as people are going to get, I think.

Difficult to concentrate on the presentation with the dramatics and emphasis in speech all over the place; it's too rehearsed, would make me wish for the days when it was live, and not just pre-recorded before broadcast.

I don’t like the way they do it now. We got about twenty people to cover a few things on each update.

creates the illusion lots of things were released! I’m downloading the iOS beta now. 15GB, it’s a chonky one.

i'm probably gonna wait for Public Beta 2 before installing on my phone. Use the phone as my car key and don't want to be stranded anywhere if it bugs out.

Yeah good thinking. If you rely on it that much, better off waiting. So far beta 1 is ok, few visual glitches on springboard nothing major wrong that I’ve noticed so far. Keyboard a little less responsive too.

Can pretty much guarantee that the transparency glass effect will be significantly reduced during the beta when Apple realise that nobody can actually read text on their phone.

The new design is seriously fugly, current one is miles better.

I like what the have done with the apps. That you only see what you need. Camera app is a great example.

On the fence with the with the liquid glass. Fonts seem smaller. With the keyboard, characters are to small and to much space between them.

It feels like quite a same update apart from the gloss

Anyone gonna take the plunge with the Public Beta now that it's out?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,803 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Installed it yesterday,on iPhone and Ipad. all seems fine and stable to me.

Haven't deep dived into new features yet. Although first thing I notice is new "windows" function on iPad and that's really good and well implemented.

Have it on my 16PM and Watch at the moment, little bit buggy in places, but quite stable none the less.

Gonna stick it on the ipad over the weekend, and then might take the plunge and put the developer beta on the vision pro!

It's draining a little bit faster than usual, have to stick it on to charge for about a half hour in the evenings when i didn't have to before

Installed it on the iPad yesterday and it's really after changing the experience, savage! :)

No none, whatsoever, it all seems very stable to me.

Vision OS26 has really changed the vision pro, it's absolutely fantastic!

This years iOS updates really are going to be the best yet.

Let's hope they iron out the kinks over the next few weeks in the betas.

Starting to get excited for this years phones now
