Limerick couldnt beat Cork on their own back yard when it mattered and Cork missing a few players to come back in. I fancy Kilkenny to knock Limerick out to be honest. I think Cork will open up Limerick more in Croke Park with their speed and pace. Limerick set up suits Cork. We know we can match ye. Three weeks ago was a dummy game which meant nothing. I be more wary of Kilkenny.

We can all pick selective moments. Both missed chances to win. I think younger Cork players coming on such as Tommy O Connell and Healy will have taken loads from a game like this. Dalton will be a big addition too. Certainly think Cork should consider 2 inside to free up more space but pros and cons to that too.

Did you analyse all the Cork chances while you were at it? We had more shots and chances than Limerick. If we converted a fraction of them we be out of sight. Also Ref gave Limerick all the 50/50 calls. Some Cork players had to be wrestled to the ground and still got nothing. Walsh is a **** referee it has to be said.

Is there any ref that is not totally against Cork .Johnny Murphey last year even. TWalsh and James Owens the last day was it Liam Gorden the previous time who is left?

I agree with you. I think they have their best day and they are better than anyone else out there and it's not even close. They have handed out some awful batterings to everyone in the championship in the last few years, and any defeat they have suffered is by the slimmest of margins.

If the motivation is still as strong as it was when they were racking up titles they will win it again. The Cork sing-song video may help them.

As a Kilkenny man i think and hope that the level that limerick played at on Saturday is a truer reflection of where they are at..cork for whatever reason were very poor the first day and made limerick look outstanding.

They are still an excellent team but i just think they are not as far ahead of the pack as they were..maybe this will age very poorly and they will hammer us in the semi..time will tell

Anything can happen from here on in! KK could beat Limerick, imagine the motivation of the Tipp team if they were to meet Cork in a semi final! Galway could decide to just go out and play hurling instead of swamping themselves in tactics! Dublin could bust a gut against Limerick. It’s wide open and in an amateur game, the right motivation is everything.

Ya anything can happen but it's unlikely to. Dublin can be motivated all they want but beating Limerick would be one of the biggest shocks ever.

Limerick have lost 2 All Ireland series games since 2018 and I think 6 games in Munster with a few of those when we were already through. A "mid table" team like Dublin beating them would be an insane shock.

Think he let a lot go for both. Cork denied 2 certain frees b4 half time while cian Lynch got some tough treatment as well. Both sides as you say missed opportunities. Limerick had some poor ones from English, casey and Nash. Hoggie had a couple of wides he'd normally score.

I think croke park suits cork with their speed and direct running but limerick have a great record there too. Still I wouldn't be talking about a cork limerick final yet. Plenty more twists and turns.

Tipp vs Galway can't be in the Gaelic Grounds with Limerick playing the same day

You have to laugh at this line of thinking. A dummy game a few weeks ago! It was a game that qualified Limerick for the All Ireland series and meant Cork had to go into a make or break game vs Waterford. A game they made very hard work of . What a load of utter nonsense saying it was a dummy game. You'll be telling me next that the day Limerick beat Cork in the round robin in 2023 was a dummy game.

I expect Limerick to beat Dublin and then come through a huge battle against Kilkenny. If they play Cork in the final, Limerick will win. They are simply a far better hurling team all round. Cork defensively are still soft as sh*te.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a Limerick Tipp All Ireland final though, that Cork team can be got at and Tipp will fancy putting up a big score against them. It's just a case of whether Tipp are good enough defensively. I'm dismissing Galway based on that anaemic display yesterday.

That poster is a clown and I wouldn't bother with anything he says. Was already caught out spreading lies and not for the first time.

That 11/1 on Tipp to win AI looks very tempting. You might even get 12s on exchanges if lucky. Without question the value bet.

Definitely looked like he was trying to pass it. He was hesitant in that moment and you knew by his reaction afterwards he made the wrong split second decision. With so little time on the ball in the modern game, things like that will happen. We have just come not to expect it from Limerick who have been the benchmark of composure in those situations the last 5/6 years.

You are the biggest circus in here. And explain where I was caught spreading lies? Enlighten me.

You are totally undermining Corks effort at the weekend in Limericks home ground. They were supposed to annihilate Cork out the park again but it didn't happen and all of a sudden you have alot of the anti Cork brigade out here saying they will destroy Cork if they meet again. Let's see. Cork won't fear Limerick and Limerick will still find it hard to beat Cork. Cork had more shots than Limerick last day out, missed more than Limerick and Limerick first led the game in the 69th min of normal time. You had everything in your favour and you didn't get over the line. What makes you so unsure that Limerick will beat Cork next time out?

He went for it alright, I was sitting right behind him. It was a total mis hit and dropped short.

Galway support is always terrible. In recent times, Tipp too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,705 ✭✭✭Robson99

There won't be 3k from Galway at it. And possibly 10k from tipp. It could be played in Birr

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,796 ✭✭✭✭billyhead

Limerick played below their capabilities at the weekend. The likes of key men such as Lynch, Hayes and Hegarty weren't at their best. When Limerick are performing at their best, I can't see how Cork would beat them. Also the match on Saturday was a draw.

Any idea why they, Hayes in particular, weren't at their best? Could Cork have had a role in it perhaps?

When Limerick lose, they are not at their best - nonsense.

Corks half forward line in particular ripped into Limerick, scoring at a very good rate - from play - ran their markers all over the place. This prevented Limerick getting a foothold and starting attacks with ease - this was down to Cork, make no mistake about it. Whatever about Limericks wides, some of Corks were very poor, Hoggie in particular, Cork should have won in game in 70 minutes but for their own mistakes.

Cork stopped Limericks 5 in a row,

Cork stopped Limericks 7 in a row in Munster.

The last 5 times Cork and Limerick played, LImerick won once.

When Cork turn up, they have the beating of Limerick - last years semi final proved that - and I think Limerick know it.

All to play for still - and not just Cork and Limerick, Tip and KK will fancy a shot at it aswell. Plenty of hurling left.

Cork might even stop their own 20 in a row of years without an all ireland.

Or maybe they'll capitulate by 16 points in a final again.....hard to know with this team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 342 ✭✭raindodger

all the teams will be licking there lips to have a crack off cork or limerick ,motivation should not be an issue for them the way they have been disrespected

Well they've already done something they haven't done since 1972, Munster/league double so adding Liam would be a nice trio.
