    thanks for the update

Don’t like to see different brands of breakers myself

a bit untidy alright but it’s always difficult to retrofit a new board.

Definitely better than what you initially had

Have a similar upgrade planned- what would the final installation cost be for the upgraded CU unit if I was to approach an electrician for something similar?

You'll have to get quotes. Problem I found was a lot of electricians were completely disinterested in upgrading a CU and tails, even when their websites had this as a focal point. This was in Dublin, so could be different elsewhere.

I got the solar company to have their contractor do the upgrades for me before the solar went in. It was €800. Be wary though. Their work wasn't quite Artesan Electrics quality and in the end, 2 new boards later, they still hadn't provided what I asked for and was left with a 63A rated CU, despite them agreeing to a specific 100A rated unit. I checked the "finished" job and found loose connections and exposed conductors everywhere. Where the PV conduit entered my weather tight side passage, they hadn't sealed it. All of these things I had to remedy.
