I got sorted. One of them was relax other one was keep poking and asking very difficult technical questions around data analysis. She also asked why my word count was more then 400. So anyone that going through this. Just give your best. Good luck

I have my interview Wednesday morning and absolutely dreading it. Currently in the private sector so it’s totally different. Well done everyone and thanks for sharing your experiences!

Just give your best only thing you can do. More you think about it, the worse you will feel. So go with positive mind. Rest will work out.

End of July, beginning of August?

That is a long wait for results.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11 MrMj

Yeah public sector always takes so long

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8 Craig95

Is it definitely that long? Surely interviews aren't going on for that long?

That's fast for civil service standards! 😂 NSSO's panel took over half a year, it was a mess with Sigmar.

I think they advised previously interviews are going up until mid/late July. Panels are always a 'set it and forget it' scenario while you wait.

This is what I got 2 weeks before.

Finally was given an interview for next week, awfully surprised by that. I had written it off. But I accepted a temp clerical officer role with revenue 2 weeks ago, will that have any effect do ye think?

I only got the email for an invite to interview today, yet it says in the email to respond no later than June 9th!. Has this happened to anyone else. I have emailed them back to accept and mentioned that I only received the invitation today. I definitely only got it today, it wasn't hidden in spam folder or anything like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 HehFoxyBoxes

That happened to me as well, I think they just didn't change the date. I only received my interview like an hour ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,803 ✭✭✭Dick phelan

Ok hopefully they get back to me ASAP. You'd think they would be able to change a few dates on an email

They got back to me and said the deadline to confirm is now the 12th of June lol

Same but unfortunately don't think I can attend it's late notice for my current employer. I asked to change it to a Monday or Tuesday but no dice

It will have zero effect. If anything it will be a positive thing as you are showing that you are prepared to start at the bottom and willing to work your way up the organisation.

They are two seperate recruitment competitions. If you get the EO after you start as a TCO, they will just move you into your new Department/section. Do you know what section they will place you in as a TCO?

    Best of luck.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19 HehFoxyBoxes

Oh, that's great if it'll have no effect, the position is only for 39 weeks anyway. Only asked because I've read you can't get promoted unless you're in your current role for 2 years but wasn't sure if it counted if you're only temporary.

Don't know what department, my contract says unestablished temporary clerical officer. I say I'll either find out the day I start or it's just for wherever needs the extra help?

    Thanks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 Willow25

This is an external EO competition, so any internal rules around promotion or mobility don't apply to this. You can work as a TCO and if successful with this competition, just accept the role. You'll give notice, finish on a Friday as a TCO and start as an EO on the Monday. ☺️

Had my interview earlier today. Felt I stumbled through it and nerves just got the better of me unfortunately but at least it’s over with.. it was all pretty much based on the competencies on the application form and they expanded on those and had a few questions like why do I think I would be a good fit and what I could bring to Revenue.. the two board members were lovely so that helped at least. Best of luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!

My friend just had an interview last week, although she applied a day before the application closed whereas I applied 3 days before it closed. We have similar background. We're based in Louth. I don't know if I'll hear anything from them lol

Just an update for any of those people still waiting to be called. I hadn't heard a thing since I submitted my application, but I got an email yesterday for interview for next week.

Hopefully anyone else still waiting will be called soon too.

hi. I had interview yesterday for 1) Meath 2) Dublin. I am currently a civil servant but not in revenue. I am honestly not sure how it went. Questions straight forward but one interviewer in particular kept probing.
