DA application and PSC

My adult son received a first-time PSC in January. In March he applied for DA. No decision yet.

Today he received a new PSC with free travel added.

Is it possible this is related to the DA application?

Very likely - if he's been awarded free travel then it sounds like he's been successful with the DA application

DA has been awarded, Delighted for you & your son.

We see this alot, Free Travel added to a PSC before a Decision on DA is confirmed with applicants. You should get confirmation DA awarded within the next week or two.

No problem Dan, it's a difficult process & takes quite some time, Communications on DA applications can be quite poor. It will be a great help for your Son. The payment will be backdated to the date of application recieved.

Just opened the approval letter.

He is now trying to process everything, including the fact that he will be paying rent and his own phone bill :)

…at least a bit of rent.

He would be yeah. The bills etc for electricity allowance don’t have to be in his name but you need to nominate to have it paid into the bank/post office in that case.
