Hi.I have something up for sale on Done Deal and Adverts .I had a query from a mobile number asked me to whatsapp them. They seemed happy with the price and asked me to accept payment to my Revolut through an An Post link .They said when I would provide the details through the An Post link they sent the money would be in my account in five mins and an An Post currier would pick up the product the next day. I googled An Post parcel service and while they would pick it up the payment would have to be made directly to me and the shipping paid separately so I didnt go through with it . Several messages followed and they insisted the payment to me would come through that link and not separately from them.I asked them to phone me and no answer to that .I tried to phone them and no answer either .Twice since then same type of offer came through from different mobile numbers .Three in total. Obviously the same person because the wording was very identical .The Pic on Whatsapp is of a girl in Galway and the buyer said Bray and Sligo and forget the other location .The reason I am writing this post is to warm people .I nearly fell for it and I watch myself online .Thanks for reading .

Definite scam I know plenty who have been scammed in that way, I was selling an item last week got a message to what's app a buyer, but needless to say I didn't and conversation was suspended within 2 minutes, reported it to Done Deal as a possible scammer, but I don't know how serious Done Deal take reports like that.

The fact that they would not accept or make a call indicates to me its a male even though the names are female names . Also heading on WhatsApp says Business account and the pictures are of young Mothers with kids .

I seen one person scammed on Adverts that was selling that was caught for €300.

I gather whatever details they sent through an Adverts type link that the scammer sent allowed the scammer to withdraw the €300.

Am honestly unsure of the ins and outs of it but a good few seem to be getting caught the same way on there lately.

Absolutely a scam. The link asks for your card to "pay you", but then asks for your CVV number. You put it in and then you get CHARGED.

    Ignore all links
