Buildings as billboards

Slowest fit-out I've ever seen.

The floor is done, but there's still a disconnected toilet sitting by the back wall. No sign of it looking like an office yet. Shure they're probably all WFH anyways. No one needs an office any more.

A week before the grand opening (12 June per the article) - and there's still no furniture in it.

As at 2pm today, the toilet was gone, but there's still a traffic cone inside, and very little else.

I'm sure they have a new Galway city branch, and that branch has a great advertising space. But not a new office.

Whether its better than what we'd there - depends on your perspective. At least the greens had some furniture and used the building occasionally for meeting. Whereas Fair Deal have done a pretty paint job.

If you went inside BT, you'd have found stuff for sale. It's still being used for a traditional city-centre purpose.

This building, not overly far away, used to be used for appliance retail. It's now purportedly going to be used as a real estate office. To me it looks like it will be more of a billboard than an office. Which is a significant change of use for a building in the area. It's yet another example of the retail footprint shrinking.

fwiw, the PPR figure probably includes the rent from the apartment(s) upstairs, as well as the shop.
