Tipp will be given a reality check when they meet either Limerick Cork or Kilkenny outside of Munster. They won't beat any of those three teams.

Doh! I guess the 14-1 bit went over your head!

KKilkenny May prove difficult but the other two, Cork are going backwards and Limerick well in fairness they have surprised even themselves but they are on borrowed time.

And 1965 was when ye last won it back to back, although in fairness Mick The Rattler Byrne who was one of the great characters of the game always had great time for Cork.

The football team to play Kerry later on. Best of luck to everyone it would be a great boost for Cork football if we beat Kerry all the same.

decent response to an early Kerry goal, level 0-8 to 1-5 after 25 min

3 up at HT. Some really poor shooting costing us a bigger lead. Against the wind second half. Hopefully the fraca gets the lads to keep it going.

Cork 0-13 Kerry 1-7 HT. as ever, mixing the very good with the bad. went 5 down after the Kerry goal but thanks to good play and a few 2 pointers we are 3 up having played with the wind. Missed 3 good goal chances though which we may regret at the end, really need to convert those at this level

    Cork 0-16 Kerry 1-13 45 min.

another big win for the senior camogie team, 3-21 to 1-9 against Tipperary

Cork have won 2 kickouts but then not protecting the ball the Kerry player just knocks it out of his hands and its led to a 2 pointer and 1 point. So frustrating to watch.

Some awful calls by the ref against Cork as well

Can't see any point in John Cleary staying on after this. I'm not blaming him for this defeat but Cork have clearly regressed under his management.

Not going our way but the referee has absolutely ridden us here.

    Annihilation in the second half

Stating the obvious but we don’t have the quality in the forwards lads.

Game went as we expected. Could have been closer had we found the net a few times and we had the chances.

Cleary needs to go unfortunately. Going backwards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,014 ✭✭✭Seadin

If Cleary isn't sacked after this season then we deserve nothing going forward.

Nothing personal against John Cleary a good and decent man and a fine player for Cork who is trying his best.

This is his fourth year in charge though and we are a middle of the road division two outfit who are quite obviously regressing and stagnating under his tenure as manager.

Kevin Walsh the coach from Galway needs to go as well. He's more of a negative and defensive minded coach totally unsuited to the new rule changes.

This is as despondent as i've ever felt about Cork football at least we can look forward to Roscommon putting us out of our misery soon enough.

Of course whether the players are there or are the county board willing to invest in our underage structures is another thing entirely. For god's sake it's time to go outside the county when selecting the next manager for the senior footballers.

Beat Roscommon and we get another game.

After that, I would guess Cleary will be gone.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,014 ✭✭✭Seadin

We won't beat Roscommon either. It's good night Irene. Shut the door Cleary on the way out.

Joe Brolly has said we should give up playing football.

And to be honest he is right.

    What is point.....

We are in dire straits alright as a football county but Joe Brolly was slating us even when we had a good team! Even if we beat Roscommon i don't see us going much further. The departures from the panel at the start of the year were an ominous sign really.

We have only won three senior all Irelands in football after 1973 and only one in the last thirty five years. Aside from the 1987-1995 era under Billy Morgan and the Conor Counihan years from 2008-3013 we have generally been a second rate footballing county over the past fifty or so years.

again we could talk about tradition and how i dontf think it should be used as an everyday benchmark , bur lets be honest cork football has always had peaks and throughs , where it is at the moment its not too far away from the top

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,757 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

You taking the piss with "not too far away from top"

Not sure what you are smoking but I have some of it.

We are bang average side who probably would struggle to get to semi of the Tailteann

kew , you will never be happy until cork do the double again and that is probably never going to happen , the fact is any team on there day can win the all ireland in the top 8 , infact armagh were top 10 last year in the league , so its hardly a million miles away

    smoke away lad
