Just contacted them on WhatsApp and got a €3 goodwill voucher applied to my account. Better than any of the current scratch cards anyway.

Are silvercrest products generally of good quality? I see there's a coffee maker on offer from tomorrow, wondering if its worth shelling out €250 for

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 741 ✭✭✭ECookie13

Check their website for the leaflet, the coffee maker and tons of other middle aisle stuff has been delayed with no new date of arrival.

If it's this offer it's worth a punt. Ya got to wonder if Lidl proofreads anything.

They probably mean buy a coffee machine and get a tin of beans for free.

Doesn't really matter anyway, as mentioned above these never came in and I've noticed before that if the delayed stuff ever does eventually come in, any associated voucher will be long expired so there'll be no discount available.

The below is a general 'signature' and not part of any post:

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Its just the wrong image. The product code is all that matters for offers on the app, which looks to be correct.

Tbh, you'd have to wonder if Lidl intentionally refuses to announce stuff that's delayed until days later, to try and get people into the store. It's becoming way more common lately for middle aisle products to never come in.

Some pain in the hole today.

Bought a parasol on Saturday. Had €10 off so got it for €40 instead of €50 with the Lidl Plus app.

It was defective. Brought it back for an exchange.

Had to be refunded, then purchase the same one again. But no option of course to get the €10 off so had to pay the €50.

Yeah, only way around that is buy the second one at full price and then return the defective one for a refund with the receipt for the second one.

I see the red boxes from 2020 have returned as some stuff is delayed

BTW - I was in my local Lidl yesterday and these were in stock.

It looks like the free pastry has been down graded. I won a free mini chocolate brownie or croissant.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 225 ✭✭Orban6

Maybe for you. I had a much greater choice inc. a choice of doughnuts and danish pastry.

Maybe 1 in 10 of my scratchcards are actually used at this point. They're effectively gone, or just a bit like Dunnes 1c off on their app.

The pork fillets and chicken fillets offers are quite good.

I actually don't think thats legal. Its not repair / exchange / refund that you agree with the store under consumer rights. It is repair / replacement / refund. You should not have had to effectively pay extra to get a replacement.

I'd get in contact with Lidl somehow, either in store (manager) or through their social media.

I'm not sure - my hazy recollection is that the store has the right to choose whether to repair or replace or refund (within reason. E.g. if a product keeps failing after a few repairs, then it's fair enough for the purchaser to refuse another repair)

In this case, the store chose to refund, which I think is legal. Having said that, no harm reaching out, they may be accommodating.

I agree to an extent but to refund and rebuy at a higher price would fall foul of consumer law. The repair/replace/refund I THINK (I don't know the specifics) is by mutual agreement. The shop can't just say "you have to get refunded and buy it again" when a simple exchange is an option.

Still posting their loyalty app is muck, the scratch cards are muck, the offers are muck, all whilst prices are going up and up and up. All whilst they continue to have more and more empty shelves (and there is not supply issues… this is on staples like bread, milk, water, chicken nuggets… just bad management)

Only thing that keeps me going back to Lidl now are the cheap coke and the fact that its open till 10pm.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,964 ✭✭✭jeffk

It's not as cheap as it use to be

I worked out pepsi max was cheaper in dunnes, then if you use a voucher better again

Was in the tallaght store yesterday and they had loads of the products out that were delayed or not due to be displayed till today. The cordless grass strimmer, coffee machine, hoover etc....loads in stock and as per the website they are still delayed?

I'm on the look out for the 800w carpet cleaner machine and asked a staff member if they know when its due in and I was told to check the store everyday as they don't know.

Anyway, if anyone is on the look out for the above items there were loads there yesterday evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,527 ✭✭✭ongarite

Was going to post the same question.

I've been checking daily for the carpet cleaning machine to come in but hasn't so far in my local stores.

A single clove of garlic a bonkers €1.50! Even if it is a bulb, still a bonkers price

    @zell12

I think that's actually a bag of single garlic cloves (small ones). In a purple net iirc.

Transition Year interns in their marketing section?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,598 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

That's similar to the ad for "Clementine" which looks like it's one single clementine, but which is actually a net (or on one occasion a punnet) of them.

    I'd second the TY suggestion…..
