Summer transfer window 2025

Liverpool have formally announced Frimpong as their first of a (hopefully) busy transfer window. A second bid for Wirtz circa 130 million euro went in and are heavily linked with kerkez.

Elsewhere it appears Liam Delap has chosen Chelsea over Manchester United and Zubamendi to Arsenal is all but done.

Liverpool have also accepted a bid in the region of 10 million for Trent from Madrid so he can be available for the club World Cup, with what must be the biggest cost to length of contract remaining transfer in a while if not ever.

Who would you like to see your club sign? Who needs what? And will Arsenal finally sign a striker?

Trent's deal would be the equivalent of 120m for a player with 1 year left on his contract or thereabouts

Everton have signed Carlos Alcaraz from Flamengo - was baked into the loan deal apparently.

As a United fan, we need a lot of surgery done on the first team. Cunha is in the bag but we need a consistent goal scorer, new keeper, left back and a central midfielder would be nice.

Celtic get about £5.5m for Frimpong. 30% of Leverkusen’s profit.

city summer started with 2m from sunderland for roberts been promoted, 3.5m for Jacob Wright from Norwich and anything between 20-30percent of liams delap fee.

i do also wonder if they are due anything from Frimpong?

Looks like a deal with Reineders(sp?) from Milan. Cant say i know a lot about him but fee supposed to be £58m inc add ons so assume 45-50m base.

Ait Nouri linked heavily, an actual left back imagine that a signing id be a fan of. Linked with a few right backs but none close.

Cherki and Gibbs White the main contenders for AM, wouldnt be a fan of MGW so hoping its not him.

Talk of a keeper too(Garcia or Costa) but would rather just keep ederson.

Hopefully lots tied up before CWC in a couple of weeks.

Caoimhín Kelleher looks to be off to Brentford for £18m

Hopefully he does well finally as a number 1

Only Robbie Keane and Nathan Collins have commanded a higher transfer fee among Ireland players (Declan Rice excluded)

12.5m rising to 18m thats a pittance in todays fees.

Would like to see him go to UTD but Liverpool would never sell him to Utd.

I'd love to see Kelleher rock up at Chelsea.

£12.5m now, according to most media reports. Be a quality signing for Brentford if it goes through. They loaned Raya to Arsenal for £3m and then when the permanent obligation to buy got £27m. Good business from them and hopefully they can push on now and be in the top 8 consistently.

Rayan Cherki looks to be going to Man City for around €30 million.

Pep said ‘a big squad and I will leave’ yet they are flat out buying players.

Cherki apparently has a bad attitude and work rate tissues.

16 senior goals scored in his entire career.

    Should be interesting.

And now they are close to a deal for Rayan Ait Nouri from Wolves to be their new left back. Hilarious stuff.

Pep really slashing the cash now to prevent another third place finish.

He really is the best coach in the world.

Pep went all in on playing CBs in the full back positions a few years ago, buying Akanji, Ake Gvardiol etc. paying close to €200m for them.

So then Arteta copied him and Arsenal bought White, Timber, Calafiori.

Are they both going to change tact again now and go back to buying actual full backs for the full back position?

I'd rather buy Gittens than Garnacho for that sort of money. And it is stupid money.

maybe give them a chance to sell a few before pulling pep up on his comments from last week?

Also limited incomings in the last couple of years with lots of outgoings, it’s normal they would spend again, it started in jan and is now continuing. I am pretty sure the return of trophies versus previous spend under pep has been worth it and he has rinsed the abs maximum out of alot of those players so of course he will need new players.

Interesting profile they are going after(inc jan) compared to before, Vianas finger prints all over this. Could conceivably get reijnders, ait nouri and charki for similar money as Wirtz(maybe less).

It worked pretty well didnt it? Won a treble with four centre backs and 4 prems in a row. Maybe he is evolving which u would expect any top coach to do. It will be interesting to see as not since his time at Barca has he played overlapping full backs and it looks like it could go that way for city this year. Bringing in Pep Lingders who has worked extensively in with this system might have something to do with it too. Who knows. It will be fun to watch either way.

City haven’t been fun to watch since we realised they were cheating with their inflated revenues and false accounting. All a sham unfortunately. Every City supporter knows they cheated, but hopes they will get away with it. But nobody else counts their successes, it just stopped ManU winning, then Liverpool winning, then Arsenal winning.

Mbeumo off to man utd. Strange move for him and I thought utd were broke

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 401 ✭✭FreshG

    Yeah it did work out.

Pep spent big money (around €200m) on buying new players to suit this new formation and play style that he cooked up, and maybe he had a great assistant manager tailored for that system too.

And now he is deciding to revert to the more traditional up and down full back, at high expense again (would it be €50m + €50m for Ait-Nouri & Livramento). It's smart to get in an assistant that suits that play style to be fair.

Not many managers are afforded that luxury though. Most other managers would be told to use the players that they already have at their disposal that were already acquired at high cost. Reinvent the players through your coaching. Granted, a new RB might be required so fine, get your new RB in but Gvardiol is well able to do that role. There's plenty of CBs at the club so he is not needed there.

Rico Lewis and the other kid who was playing LB. What happens them now?

No one really cares what City have won nor will they ever be remembered as a great team.....there will always be an * after their wins

Mbeumo would be an excellent signing for ManU or Newcastle. If Salah had left Liverpool he would have been high on my wishlist as a replacement

I think he’d suit right side in a 4-3-3 better, but I’m sure he has the quality to play 10 either. Big win for ManU if they get him as seems to be the case.
