    got a email Friday ,

Would anyone have some light on this after doing the medical.

It stated that my candidacy remains live,

but the locations called forward are dependent on the business requirements for some locations . This can cause delays in the terms of processing applicants, in the case of your application.

We hope to call the next cohort of applicants in near future.

It means they will call candidates in depot locations where they are needed the most, first. So Dublin basically.

if there’s candidates in front of me how long does the panel last

Has anyone any news on the driver recruitment online RAAT, SCAAT etc.. I haven't heard anything.

I did those tests during a previous driver recruitment campaign in 2019, passed, and IIRC heard back quite quickly. The questions this time were I think, identical to the 2019 questions but I reckon I did worse as wasn't in the right frame of mind doing them this time. I will be raging if I have failed them this time.

A few years I'd guess. What depot did you apply for? I know some people applied last year for regional depots, and haven't even been called for the tests at Inchicore yet.

People often apply for Dublin, then put in for a transfer as soon as they can, for a more local depot.

still haven’t heard back from the online tests but just curious are the in person tests just the RAAT, SCAAT and LD-SJT again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 DustyShowbiz

No they are different in the test centre. For example the SCAAT test is shapes instead of letters, also its on paper instead of online.

Also haven't heard back yet on the online tests. Positive that we're all in the same boat I think.

Just seen General ops roles advertised on their page. It states several requirements but you don't really need them so don't let it put you off from applying. It's mainly watching contractors working and keeping them safe. . All training will be provided. The shifts is usually half 8 to 5 days or nights which can be from around 11 to 5 depend on the job. It could be 12 hour shifts during shutdown weekends. The pay is decent enough with a few expenses thrown in. If you like being outside then go for it, you can still go for the driving if thats your thing.

Well folks any word on courses yet for anyone waiting to hear? Ive done all tests, interviews, medical etc....emailed them a few weeks ago and they said the ive done everything i need to and its location dependent, and theyll be in contact in due course. Heard recently a new course began and theres 3 recruits in my area started who were interviewed over a year ago 🫣

Best of luck to anyone heading to Inchicore 💪😃

hi where did you apply for

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 44 nidhuinn

it seems to be quite normal to be waiting 1-2 years if you’re outside Dublin. You can gather that Dublin is the priority based on the latest recruitment drive only cover that area.
It’s just sit and wait. There’s only a certain number of drivers per training class and only a certain number of training classes they can run at the same time. Just need to have patience.
No news is good news. The thanks but no thanks tend to go out quickly by the looks of it

Go the acceptance to the in person test day myself.

I too have been emailed the phase 1 invitation.

I got an email too but not sure if I'm going to accept it as have been reading up on the distance vision requirements for train drivers. They seem similar to those for private pilots, in which case, I will fail the medical.

What’s your prescription? Once you wear your glasses it shouldn’t really be an issue.

So if you haven't heard back today on the Dublin driver recruitment are you out of the running or id there multiple batches?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14 podge380

Yeah i spoke to a driver and he said there is a long wait time, and hes not wrong by the looks of it 😅 but yes, 100% no news is good news it seems. Hopefully not too long more tho 🙏 saw a pic of a training class started recently and there was only 8 on it from what i remember

I'd hope so but if people have gotten in person test dates it's likely not a great sign to have not heard by now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,816 ✭✭✭Midnight_EG

They stagger test dates, no news is good news

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 471 ✭✭Rootsblower

if your hoping for a regional class to start soon you could be waiting a while. IE concentrating on Greater Dublin Area at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,449 ✭✭✭Citizen Six

If you applied late in the current campaign, then you'll be at the back of the queue when it comes to tests at Inchicore.

Some regional candidates from the previous campaign are still on hold for the Inchicore tests.

Was unsuccessful myself but in the feedback section I scored above average in all 3 tests the only mark against me was speed in miniscatt but they also added that my accuracy was above average.
