Its saying on the Gaa ticket site tickets on sale soon for the Armagh match What is soon ffs? haha. Can they not just give a time and date. Would of just got the three together but the away games never suit me lately which is annoying!

Great display in Salthill. Kilkenny was immense and whole squad seemed a million miles better than Leinster displays. Wonder if it was a case of not being quite right with timing of fitness levels as looked to be off the place v Meath and struggled at times to v Wicklow. Anyway, whatever the reason delighted for Dessie and team who showed some real character to pull of the victory. Armagh next up in Croker should give us better indication of just where we are at the minute and a win would really have us back in the hunt. Up the Dubs!

Ref being extremely generous to Galway here

Galway the better team so far, Dublin not really at it, didn't use the breeze in the first half.

Galway should have been down to 13 long before halftime. 2 of the clearest reds you'll ever see. Now, we should have had a man sent to the line just before halftime as well but if the ref does his job this is a completely different game.

Yeah I think that's a fair point but Dublin are just not at it today, some poor wides in the first half and three other goal chances they didn't take. Gap is 11 now, Galway haven't even been great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 14,378 ✭✭✭✭JRant

There's no question that we've been sloppy and hit some awful wides but the ref didn't even have difficult decisions to make on the reds. Considering we've had more than our fair share of them this year you just want to see the rules applied fairly.

I did, it was a coming together at the start and then when the ball was well away he struck him with the hurl.

Only see what you want to see..

    Sensible refereeing

Nice to see Dublin forwards getting goals. That is a positive I suppose. Seemed to get loads of joy when ran with the sliothar. Don’t know why didn’t do it earlier. Donal Burke was a big loss not to have available. Might have been more of a contest if he played.

Just not at it sums it up alright.

One of the things i've liked about O'Ceallachain's set up is that he has us varying our game well but not a hint of it in the first half. Everything was lumped long on top of Galway defenders who, in most cases, physically had the upper hand in their match ups. Made no sense. He really needs to enforce variation of the gameplan on the team. Good teams will lap it up if we play the same way each week. With respect to today though… tactics don't really come into it when you're losing the physical battle and you're being outworked by the opposition. I felt Galway just went through the motions too which made it even worse.

Ref was entirely predictable in applying the rules (not just the potential sendings off).

Very strange to think Dublin struggled with Galway's physicality as I would have thought it would be the other way around. Not too many really physical players on that Galway team, from no. 5 up anyway.

Yeah hopefully N O'C can put a bit of shape on them. What is noticeable for me is how the hurling team has a more Northside flavour than the usual of previous years. I suppose this can only be a good thing in the long run, with a better geographic spread.

Why would you think that? Hetheron aside, you think Currie, Power, O'Sullivan, Murphy and Brian Hayes would have a physical advantage against the likes of the Burke's and Mannion? Bar Hayes (who is relatively lightweight) are any of the Dublin lads 6 feet or above? With respect that's just the usual trope thrown at Dublin in that they're a physical team when in actual fact they're second best to teams that aren't particularly physical (like Galway). If only we did 'manufacture' our hurlers!

Con not available for Sunday, disappointing but while it would be great to beat Armagh it's not a must win game. Hopefully he's back for Derry or a QF/prelim q/f.

Looking forward to this game think it will show if we are serious contenders or not .I know it's not do or die but a win puts us in the frame while a loss will leave us just hopefuls. We have to hope we get a full squad to pick from soon as the matches come so close now we don't have time to wait too long .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,500 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Back of my mind always chance of an Armagh red card. Maybe a simple case of goading the right players. And the correct sort of aggressive approach.

Surely Dublin can’t be as bad as that first half in league up in Armagh again? But Armagh definitely won’t stand off players, like Galway did in Salthill the last day. And Kilkenny is not going to get as much freedom as he did then. Need to see high energy from Dublin from the start.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Hopefully Dublin can build on the Galway game but I’m not overly optimistic, particularly with Con injured.

Wind pretty strong, won’t be seeing many 2 pointers at the hill end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,275 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Looking easily outnumbered in the stands here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 679 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

yeh saw plenty of Northie drivers on M1 earlier. Although a lot of dubs like to come in late so will have better idea at throw in.

wind seems to be swirling and changed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,275 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

Theres a breeze blowing into the hill. Least rain has stopped. Armagh have brought a serious crowd with them. Better win cause I'm surrounded by them here 😂

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 679 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

Armagh practicing 2 pointers, I’d say this could be a big problem for us today.

I get the impression They are gonna be loud

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,500 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Only two changes for Dessie worth buying the program for a change. Had to check to see were Palestine playing in the T cup before hand because the amount of lads with the flag.

Dublin well on top but have left 5 points behind. Armagh get 2 point to illustrate Dublin's wastefulness

Yeah, Dublin seem incapable of them. Armagh on top now, Cluxton under huge pressure.

that does not feel like a 4 point game.

3 wides more from Dublin probably explains it along with 2 pointers.

Wind is weird, one minute it’s hardcore towards canal , next it’s swirling a bit. Hope it doesn’t change and Dublin lose that advantage.
