    Hi,

I'm a bit lost as to how to calculate the vrt/ customs etc on cars from Northern Ireland. Could anyone suggest how much it might cost to clear this car? https://www.topgearni.com/detail/used-porsche-macan-top-gear-ni-magherafelt-northern-ireland-59e3187375

    Thanks!

dont know but i would imagine with it being a diesel you wont be importing to save money more that you like spec. / they arent easily available

there is a reason diesels not really imported anymore

Back of a fag packet calculation based on:

    164 g/km CO2

    0.058 g/km NOx

And €40k OMSP (quick scan on done deal)

Gives you just under €17k to clear it.

No VAT or customs as its had 3 MOT’s in NI

OMSP is around €38,000. VRT rate is 41%

    Co2 VRT €15,600

    Nox €400

    Total import cost €16,000

Would this also apply if a UK registered car (November 2017) has had last 2 MOT's in NI and has next MOT in NI before being imported?

Yes, all that is required to be exempt from VAT and customs is private ownership for 3+ months in NI
