That doesn't change the fact that the Arabs were ignored in the drawing up of those borders. Those borders were guaranteed to cause problems, but the British/French didn't care. The only people who bothered to listen to the Arabs at the time(ironically Americans) rejected the creation of a Jewish state precisely for those reasons. They are still 100% on that prediction over 100 years later.

Owned, controlled - it's semantics, in the context of early 20th century imperialism.

Well why bring it up then? It's a "useful" point when it suits you; but semantics when you're corrected on your misunderstandings.

The borders drawn up by Sykes-Picot are lawful.

No, again, they are not "lawful".

Journalists seemed to be doing just fine in Gaza until the IDF repeatedly killed them and subsequently banned more from entering.

This is complete and utter nonsense. And you know it's complete and utter nonsense. Yet you posted it. Why? The international press are not allowed into Gaza. There is no media access to Gaza and aid workers are afraid to speak out in case they are prevented from working in the territory. It's a very very unique situation to have a warzone where the media has been completely excluded. Furthermore the IDF have been targeting the Palestinian press since the start. They have normalised the murder of press and healthcare workers.

Sure even press/diplomats in the West Bank can only follow certain routes and talk to certain people. You really need to grow up with these infantile posts. The IDF are making a fool out of your gullibility.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

Those murders, although horrible and undeserved, are a symptom of what Israel is doing in Gaza. I wouldn't be surprised if there are more such incidents and there's peace in Gaza and Israel starts behaving.

As I said - I've no idea about the man. You're totally free to call him whatever you like by the way on the basis of zero evidence about him. Other than of course having a gun and using it to murder two innocent people.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,518 ✭✭✭✭ted1

indeed I think everyone here condones the murder of the German and American who worked for the Isreali government, but it’s very important to remember that there lives are not worth more than the Palestines that are are been killed daily.

The fact that the Isreali government tries to blame the EU on it is comical. Totally ignoring the fact they their ongoing genocide might make them a target.

When the war ends, it'll become clear that there never was a famine in Gaza. Eventually, the war will fade from the headlines because there'll be bigger stories elsewhere.

It looks very much like an assertion to me.

There certainly is famine in Gaza - 57 children have died of starvation in the last 11 weeks (possibly more as I type this).

Whilst the war itself may fade from the headlines, the Genocide will not.

You mean they'll put out an order to stop targeting journalists.

Yes the Genocide will not fade from people's memories. People still remember what the Nazis did 80 years ago. I find it extremely difficult to contemplate how anyone can back a country that is actively committing Genocide and War Crimes and that has arrest warrants out for it's leaders. Some even call Israel the region's only Democracy which is truly laughable if it wasn't so serious.

Condemning the murder or death of anyone innocent is what any moral person with a shred of humanity would do.

I have no issue with doing that for anyone - Palestinian, Israeli, Jew, Christian, Muslim. All human lives are equal and it is tragic should any die as the hands of another - murder, starvation, burning alive etc.

For those on this thread a long time, it is clear that many in the Israeli Govt speak out of both sides of their mouths. They have no issue accusing everyone else of being responsible when Israelis are killed but are silent when Palestinians are murdered and starved.

There are any number of events that spring to mind.

Did anyone hear the Israelis apologise ore express regret when 15 medics were executed and their bodies and vehicles buried in the sand?

Did anyone hear the Israeli regret for murdering hundreds of Israelis fleeing in their cars, trying to get to safety, on Oct 7th?

Did anyone hear an Israeli apology for the girl in the car, with her dead family, on the phone leading for help for hours until the Merkava Mani Battle tank shredded her? And then shredded the two medics who came to save her?

    No, me neither.

Israel abandoned the hostages and their families nearly a year ago now - all you'll get from the Govt. is another mealy mouthed excuse. Oh, and the hostages are now priority #6 in the list of their war aims.

But I will say that regardless of what Israel is doing, no-one should be targeted. No-one. Even Netanyahu - he must face trial in The Hague along with Gallant and others that the ICC are gathering evidence on. Unfortunately, Deif was assassinated so cannot be tried.

And of course, Israel itself must face justice also in front of the ICJ.

News on the hostage situation - "we might consider a temporary cease-fire in exchange for the hostages". This is very bad news for the hostages and their families. That your country's leaders simply do not care must be, well, words fail me yet again.

At a press conference on Wednesday night, Netanyahu said if the possibility arises for a hostage deal in exchange for a temporary cease-fire, "We will take it into account," adding that "there are, with certainty, 20 living hostages and up to 38 deceased hostages" in Gaza.

Did you even read the wiki page.

Just because hes an arab doesnt get you off this one. Youre post is complete propaganda and you should retract it.

Youve made out that just because he is of arab descent his word is the truth.

In reality hes an IDF member, an advocate for Israel, anti hamas and completely pro-Israel.Hes awarded a Zionist award FFS.

So my previous post was 100% correct to call you out on it.

Youve shot yourself in the foot with this one.

He volunteered for the IDF and served in the Golani Brigade. He completed the squad commanders course with honors and served as a platoon commander and sergeant.

Haddad participates in committee and conference discussions in the Knesset.

On October 7, 2023, with the beginning of the Gaza war, Haddad began an extensive information campaign on social networks and YouTube, in Hebrew, English, Arabic and other languages, in favor of Israel and against the actions of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

    [35][36]

For his work, the council Zionism in Israel awarded him as a "Heroes of the Home Front

Haddad began his advocacy activities as part of Reservists on Duty and works on behalf of Israeli advocacy across America, Europe and South Africa. Specifically, he speaks out against the BDS movement's boycott campaign against Israel and against new manifestations of antisemitism on university campuses. In May 2018 he established the "Together – Vouch for Each Other" association with the aim of working for the integration and connection of the Arab sector with Israeli society, and since then he has headed it and serves as the CEO of the association

A post asserted that it will be shown that there was no famine in Gaza. Guess again:

The Palestinian Authority's health minister, Majed Abu Ramadan, told reporters that 29 children had died from starvation-related causes in Gaza in recent days and that many thousands more were at risk.

And to put the murder of children by Israel into context, this is day 594 of the Israeli campaign.

Every single day of those 594 days, Israel has murdered 28 children. Every. Single. Day.

Each week of this Israeli campaign, 11 infants who never even reached their first birthday have been murdered by Israel. Every. Single. Week.

The Hamas-controlled Health Ministry in Gaza announced that 16,503 children have been killed in the Strip since October 7, 2023, including 916 infants who were under one year old.

That people support this, justify this, even revel in it is simply beyond comprehension to me.

Netanyahu trying to blame the deaths of those two diplomats on Starmer, Macron and Carney.

Not a dickiebird out of him when it came to his own army shooting at foreign diplomats, of course.

Before ANYONE starts, I hope the fella who murdered those diplomats is locked away for life and, when his time comes, he dies roaring. Utterly shameful act.

They have been called antisemitic by Israeli ministers for criticising the Israeli government. Do you agree that they are antisemitic or do you think Israel is wrong for levelling such accusations at them?

    His last retweet:

@UNReliefChief your declaration that 14, 000 babies are at risk of dying in Gaza in the next two days is a blood libel. @UNOCHA and all @UN organisations have obligations to be neutral and impartial. You are breaching constantly these obligations. Your reports are founded on lies and on Hamas numbers. And of course you never talk about Hamas or other terrorists and how they use hospitals, schools and shelters in Gaza as human shields.Enough is enough!. You should be accountable for the disinformation you and @UNOCHA spread.

It's now 1 year since Israeli forces killed Hind Rajab. If we still cannot get resolution on one of the most well-known victims in Gaza, what can we expect for the thousands of other kids killed?

Bono should end all this.. he’s called for an end to the war. Started with “Hamas, release the hostages.” A half assed couldn’t give a fook plea. Trying his best not to lay blame on Israel

That's just attention seeking on your part again.

    He was accepting an award and referenced peace between Ireland and the UK. His full words on Israel/Gaza conflict were as follows;

“Hamas release the hostages. Stop war. Israel be released from Benjamin Netanyahu"

“All of you protect our aid workers, they are the best of us.”

Yet you managed somehow say he was half assed and trying not to blame Israel. It wasn't a speech. It was brief words. The first sentence had 12 words. What exactly are you complaining about?

I suppose he is anti-semitic now and a Hamas supporter...painful.

You are the same lad that said this a few days ago:

"There’s a lot people content enough to see food aid blocked by Israel. It means they can bash Israel longer, while pretending from 1000s a miles away that they’re outraged and horrified!"

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

For a poster who tries so desperately to be seen as wanting peace, you’re ever so combative. Always looking to bait and argue….most prickly poster here!!! And a U2 fan!😖

Mod - @Cluedo Monopoly and @walshb, the two of you are heading for a warning and ban if you keep sniping at each other. I'd suggest the two of ignore each other as this isn't the first instance of this.
