Seiko servicing (apart from the seiko service centre)

I dropped my Alpinist into the Seiko service centre in Ballymount for a service in early Feb. at that point they stated that the watch repair should take in the 3-4 weeks bracket. Didn't hear from them so gave them a ring and they've told me that it'll be another 12 weeks before its ready so 3-4 weeks has turned into just shy of 6 months. frustrating

I collected it unrepaired today so i'm wondering who else in Ireland will service a slow running Seiko.

It's a Seiko 6r35 movement new alpinist?

I'd be tempted to ask @H_Lime to fit an Seiko nh15 movement instead of servicing the 6r35 tbh.

The nh15 movement is an equivalent movement used on the original alpinist, and is made by Seiko but doesn't carry their brand name, costs about 50 euro.

Main difference is 20 hours power reserve (70 Vs 50).

John at Vintage watch repair in Kilkenny should be able to service it.

Ideally id want to keep the 6R35 movement in it as its a relatively new watch. @micks_address I've used John @ vintage watch in the past so ill check in with him whether he'll accept it.
