Great game. **** Tom Lahiff haha of all people to knock that over and win.

    Kilkenny amazing.

Shades of the old dublin in that final phase of play. A big win

That will keep the doom and gloom merchants quiet on here for awhile at least.

    Great win

Havent enjoyed a game like that in a long time.

Thought we’d blown it and not sure how it looked on tv but felt like Galway got a few handy frees. Fair play to the squad and Dessie, I really didn’t see that coming.

Hope con isn’t a bad one as it looked like hamstring,

No doom and gloom if we can play like that every weekend but need to keep it going and say few prayers that Con is okay!

Performance like the ones in Leinster this season can't happen.

A fantastic win didn't see it happening ,we won so much ball in the middle unlike previous games .Two really soft goals conceded but we dug out the result with a lot of unlikely hero's .

Great win and was some game. The tension and heat was high and even though a group game. Thought ciaran and o dell were great. Never seen Byrne play so well and especially on kick outs. Lad’s bounced back well for each goal

Just sitting here waiting for the traffic to ease getting out of a school.

Chances of Dublin hurlers beating Kilkenny? Radio today says that if you beat KK then it's between KK and WX for the final place on the last day. We've had a few near misses recently but Leinster hurling needs a final without KK. Dub V Wex would be perfect. 50k+ at it and a great atmosphere.

Just seen the footballers won. Obviously didn't look to peak for Leinster and beating Galway away I'd have them as favs for the all Ireland. Only Donegal will have a chance in knovjoo

That was a great game of ball. Didn't see the result coming being honest but shows the importance of winning your own kickouts, which is the first time this championship we've really done that

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Same as myself. Thought it was a cracker and glad I paid the 12 quid for it, begrudgingly.

Think the ref had a good game overall. Was consistent with steps for both teams and seemed balanced overall imo.

Great game and better result, I think most Dublin supporters were not 'doom and gloom' just had a perspective based on what we've seen all year that today was a tough ask. Dublin delivered and showed real character. That said it's one game and they won by a point against by their standard a reasonably poor Galway performance. Hope Con's injury isn't too bad, he would be a huge loss going forward.

great win, talk about hammering the hammer. Galway reduced to the goal keeper taping it to himself to then get a short one away in the confusion. Had seen Mayo do it but hadn’t thought it would catch on, rule will probably be changed soon enough if it catches on as not sure what point of it is except to allow for miskick.

Nearly Everything I thought would happen -didn’t-

    1. Thought Conroy would dominate midfield he didn’t - Dessie put Gavin on a man marking job on him. Conroy was non existent
    2. Cluxton showed glimpses of old finding his man, plus a great save in the match - I thought he was gone
    3. Kilkenny did not do his usual sideways, backwards stuff, he played with purpose winning crucial ball and was more direct . His best game for a long time.

Only gripe is still not have sorted that consistent two point shooting.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,872 ✭✭✭MFPM

The lack of two point shooting is definitely something to be concerned about going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,719 ✭✭✭Trampas

Especially if your free taker can’t hit them in front of the posts. Wasn’t one for either team yesterday. I thought Galway got one in first half and didn’t think umpire gave it wide but sun couldn’t be reason why I didn’t see it.

Good to see a more direct approach than going back and forward across the field. A few Galway supporters were going mad with them in second half when they kept doing across when behind.

Overall more positives to take out of game and fair play to both set of players to play a high tense game in that heat.

Any word on Con looked like the hammer if so maybe six weeks out .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,872 ✭✭✭MFPM

Kilkenny doing to Dublin what Kilkenny do to Dublin...They just seem to wilt against them. Galway have hit form too so a Leinster Final could be a big ask.

I take it back! 🙂 Dublin showing real character in the second half..

That was a crazy decision by the ref to call that back after giving Kilkenny the advantage at the other end.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,872 ✭✭✭MFPM

Poor refereeing there. Played advantage to let Kilkenny score goal, Dublin get free and ref doesn't play advantage with a potential goal on.

Great that the hurlers displayed some fight to turn it into a game, but I'd really like them to stop letting teams get on top, and leaving themselves with a mountain to climb.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 949 ✭✭✭Dogsdodogsstuff

Cavan beating Mayo away is a small red flag for us. Armagh in two weeks will be a very interesting game to see where Dublin really are at.

Still buzzing from yesterday. Who says Dublin don’t travel well outside of Croke park

Congrats on the win yesterday lads. Better side won.

Any news on Parnell Park for the hurling? I'm assuming it's not getting moved at this stage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,223 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

It was a good auld match. Hopefully, hurling will be as good. Not heard about any change of venue, ticketmaster still says Parnell. I noticed only terraces on sale.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

That's my thinking too. I'd say they had enough time to sort the pitch after the weedkiller or whatever.

I presume best bet for parking is to get in early for the Holy Child in Whitehall?
