    Hi Need sum help,my e90 bmw 2006 msport was driving fine,I only have the car a few months,the turbo was backing off an boost,now it's no boost at all . And it engine sounds different,similar to a v8 engine,any idea where I could find the map sensor or also called boost sensor,was told that it Could be blocked,car guy with e90 estate an youtube saids its located near the black strut top of the engine . But I had a look,in my model it is definitely not there .

    I think it's the MAF (Mass air flow) sensor you're looking for.

    No idea on your car, but it helps to have the right spelling. Who'd have thought it.

    Yeah I know the maf sensor and ,it's not that actual one that i need to find. This is called the boost pressure sensor,also known as the map sensor. If its clogged up,it can stop the turbo from engaging.

    Thanks for the replys,but this boost sensor is not in this location,my car is a 2006 model m47,I took all the cowling off,If anybody has any idea where,cause cant drive my car like this,no boost at all,I'm back to work Monday,so would really like to find it and solve this issue .

    That is from ISTA for M47 2006 320D

    The turbo pressure sensor is mounted directly on the intake air manifold and sealed off with an O-ring. The DDE control unit supplies the sensor with ground (M_LDF) and a supply voltage of 5 V (U_LDF).

    Thanks for response,is that intake maifold at the top of the engine block,or down near the alternator

    Yeah that's fair,so guys I found the boost sensor,and cleaned it . but it never made much difference,my car has still got no boost,if anybody has any idea what I should try next ?

    Scan the car for codes and see what fault codes are coming up is your first port of call

    Go to an Indy to get the car read. Otherwise your pi55ing into the wind.

    Yeah i think that would be good plan to,I just found out i mite have a crack in the manifold,same symptoms has feeling your turbo is at fault,I can also see smoke rising in the engine bay

    drift it off a cliff and claim the insurance. Looking at that photo I think there's one too many monster cans involved
