If 20 out of 100 Irish people are determined to vote for Israel and the other 80 spread their vote among 12 songs, Israel will do well.

However, it's just a minority vote channel exclusively behind one country. It means nothing.

If Palestine had a song I'd say 60 out of 100 Irish would vote for it.

'Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio? A nation turns It's lonely eyes to you.'

Surprised at public vote for France, Switzerland, UK and Latvia. Israel hmmm…no comment.

They were reliant on the US propping them up, but Trump is doing his best to make the US irrelevant.

Gaza is on a calorie controlled diet. Israel has been limiting the total number of calories entering (allowance for waste or spoilage ?) https://www.irishtimes.com/news/israel-sets-calorie-limit-for-gaza-residents-1.553966 The number of truck entering is well below this. And then count the days when there were no trucks because of Zionists attacking them or other reasons.

    https://www.timesofisrael.com/new-study-finds-food-supply-to-gaza-more-than-sufficient-for-populations-needs/

Sphere guidelines are for 2,100 kcal per person per day, though the age-adjusted population dietary needs of Gaza are 1,898 kcal due to the preponderance of children in the population.

It seem nobody is aware of the concept of "Pulling the Piss" ! Some people voted for Israel to cause commotion and the backlash about boycotts and the like.

Simiarly people voted for the Austrian song as it was a guy with a hi pitched operatic voice. Its not exactly a radio friendly song, nor can you throw shapes to it down da club.

Remember down thru the years all the novelty songs and crazy theatrics? The Eurovision is a laugh, not a deep political talkshow!

I will say being able to vote 20 times per person is an absolute disgrace and a blatant money grab and clearly open to manipulation!

Much easier and more straight forward to look at the results of Semi Final 2!

Israel really did walk it but you don't win anything for winning semi finals! 😉

Ah ya, it's simple enough maths to show how a single block vote for 1 of 30 odd contestants would show how little votes it is to be number 1. But I'm not that person. I'm fully baked

Did anyone on this actually ever vote? Even if you like some countries song would you be bothered to vote for it. Poland were always going to get a good audience vote as the Polish are all over Europe like Lithuania etc. The Irish are mainly in the UK and US. The only people really voting are people living abroad, for political reasons and for freak shows and LGBT acts. I don't know anyone whoever voted in it. Emmy was the best Irish entry in years, you can see from the youtube comments. It's descended into a farce.

Agree but it did us all some service so well done to Austria!

2025 Austria JJ Winner 436 Points

    2024 Croatia Baby Lasagna 2nd 547 Points

    2023 Finland Käärijä 2nd 526 Points

Baby Lasagna and Käärijä really were so unlucky to not win with massive point totals and would of waltzed to victory this year.

I know it is what ifs but 2 really brilliant catchy songs while the winners songs were utterly forgettable from 2023 and 2024.

Austria was a crap song, the Israeli one deserved to win it by a mile. The playing field was not level though. The Israeli singer was distracted by whistles from the audience (not heard on TV), protestors throwing paint etc.

She won the public vote but it should have been even bigger, but for the fact both the Belgian and Spanish broadcasters aired pro-Palestinian messages ahead of and during the Eurovision broadcasts. Spain’s RTVE flashed a screen that read in English and Spanish: “When human rights are at stake, silence is not an option. Peace and Justice for Palestine.”

A message from Belgium’s Flemish VRT broadcaster said it was interrupting the broadcast to protest Israel’s violation of human rights” as well as its destruction of “freedom of the press.”

The juries of those countries are obviously biased against Israel too.

I had a really good evening watching the Eurovision until next year , hopefully Ireland sends a better song this year, take care

JJ is gay and got a lot of that vote, last year was a pansexual,Loreen before that on the back of her good tune before and Ukraine with a total crap song because of the war before that. It's a clown show

    Should of,would of,could of!!! 🤣🤣🤣

If she deserved to win then she would of but she didn't as the better singer and song won on the night.

The public and the jury have spoken! 🏆

Plus didn't the Spanish and Belgian public give Israel 12 points so dunno how their messaging cost her public votes as she got maximum points off both countries public vote??? 🤣🤣🤣

Just watched the voting …. thank goodness Israel did not win …… they should not be in it to begin with ….. Was delighted Austria stole their thunder …… until Netanyahu is replaced by a moderate Israel should not be in it ….. simple as ….. Netanyahu does not deserve any more legitimacy ….. he has too much already …..

Russia, Belarus, Serbia, Bosnia, Yugoslavia ….. they are the names of countries past and present banned from it for war crimes ….. Netanyahu's Israel does worse than any of them yet still remains in it ….. and they say it's not political when one objects to them being in it ….. if it is not political then the other five countries should have been allowed in it too …..

They’re still in it because they’ll bleat about anti semitism if they’re thrown out. Israel are like a spoiled child throwing their toys out of the pram at the smallest censure or comment on their actions. It won’t happen but the rest of the world needs to call time on this bollix. Absolutely stand up to anti semetic or any other segregationist or oppressive policy or speech but using a label as a misdirection tool should be called out. A country committing genocide and using your event as a whitewash to prop up its image definitely doesn’t deserve to be included.

    I think you meant racist.

Anyway, the voting is open for far too long, pure money maker, but they shouldn't open the public vote till all songs are done and literally keep them open for 20 mins or whatever.

Eurovision is gone since late 80s yes but the winner was really good as was last years.

The EU public vote for Israel is probably a combination of empathy for the artist and the popularity of right wing racism these times.

Very funny reading the meltdowns and temper tantrums of lads who’ve spent the last 12 months living in an echo chamber.

    It’s

    1. all a big conspiracy and Mossad have manipulated the public voting systems in Europe
    2. a load of right wingers banding together to own the libs
    3. Israel should never be in the contest in the first place.

    Such cognitive dissonance on display.

Far better to accept the reality that not everyone hates Israel as much as you and your online buddies.

wow israel got almost twice austria's votes in the semi final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,336 ✭✭✭CruelSummer

I’m not watching it next year, the whole contest has been ruined by Israel and they shouldn’t be platformed on the international stage like this. There’s something very dodgy going on with the public vote, why were Norwegians told thank you for voting for Israel on Tuesday…didn’t happen with any other country. Switzerland getting 0 points along even with Spain? Really considering their diaspora? Not a chance. I don’t think Ireland should enter next year, Israel are manipulating and cheating,

Check the sponsor - Moroccan Oil, Israeli. Why are they the sponsors still? Is this why Israel are shown blatant favouritism? Why do we have to put up with fake cheers for them? No one else gets that. It’s time to boycott.
