ok, not sure if this is the correct procedure or not. But here goes. Today on the liveline the father of a young man who tragically lost his life (when the car he was working on fell on him and killed him) rang the show to say how his sons organs were donated and saved the lives of four people. I knew this person, a tragic and sad story , but some good came from the organ transplants. Imagine my shock when the radio moderator “squonk” wrote “what colour was the car” this was a puerile distasteful attempt to be funny , as frequently Joe Duffy would ask people what colour was their cat or dog etc. lronically the same mod has frequently warned people for using these “duffyisms” and for “ mocking the hosts accent”. BUT that all pales into insignificance with the crass , distasteful comment from Squonk. Followed up by a you tube clip of Brendan Grace singing about body parts. I took issue with this and squonk retorted that some people have different views on these things. I have now flagged these two posts and here we get to why lm posting. Who reviews the flagged posts when the mod is the perpetrator? In my opinion the posts are way out of order. It’s also hypocrisy of the highest order for a mod to behave like this and not be held accountable.

This is more suited to Helpdesk rather than Feedback, so I've moved it.

I'll need to confirm who the full set of mods for Radio is currently. But otherwise in general it's the cmods for Entertainment, @The Black Oil and @pixelburp who have oversight over the Radio mods.

Hi OP. As far as I'm aware, the posts have been deleted.

Did the mod delete the posts himself or was he asked to. Were the flagged posts reviewed if yes l assume l will get a response? What action will be taken if any on the mod, as l would point out that if any other posters post inappropriate content they are warned without a chance to delete the offending posts. Considering the same mod has been handing out warnings like snuff at a wake on the same forum? I think it’s important to be fair across the board , double standards don’t work.

It appears, yes, the mod deleted them themselves, however I'm not fully certain due to Vanilla. I am aware that the posts are still partly visible because they were quoted.

I can't say if the other Radio mod reviewed the posts because I don't know if they have been online in the last few hours.

I found the entries in the change log, Squonk did indeed delete the posts themselves at 4:53 PM.

Posters have a window to delete posts themselves, and indeed many posters edit or delete their post in that window if they rethink what they've said.

Also posters are regularly sent PMs rather than given warnings. And posts are often deleted by moderators without the poster being given any warning. (There is currently a thread running in Feedback about this exact issue.)

As always actions taken against another poster will not be discussed with anyone other than the poster.

The posts have been removed. Issue closed.
