No word from the camogie board on how they voted last time or what their going to do this time.surely they should come out and say where they stand.

I was hoping zac would of got a few runs corner back. Moylan to be fair had a good college campaign but might be better suited to a more central position. It's a area that has gave trouble so it's dissapointing someone else didn't get a run.

As expected not much experimenting. I would of liked a new face get a game in the backs.Shine and Stephen donnelly are the two most likely fowards to make it so they should presist with them. Kk got caught this time last year against cw. Offally will not be pushover some think. They ran Dublin close a few weeks ago who are the second best team in leinster. There's absolutely zero pressure on them so they will be able to express themselves.yes anything bar a kk win would be a shock but I don't think it will be as straight foward as some think.

Less than 3 thousand tickets sold up to this evening so there won't be much of a atmosphere. The gaa fixing the match the same time as clare v tipp is absolutely scandalous but not surprising. We will have the same next week for the Dublin match. Many kk supporters will want to watch Munster next Sunday but kk and Dublin is on at 3 o clock. It's a pity they couldn't spread them out and give supporters the chance to watch it.

It was a good move by the senior management to keep eoghan lyng out of the 26 against offally and concentrate fully on the u20. He should be left with the 20s now. its nearly as important the u20 win something than the seniors.leinster is wide open with offally now eliminated but galway are a very good side. It would be a boost to the senior squad in a few weeks time a few u20s coming into training with some silverware. I'm hoping macdermot,Murphy, lyng and neary will make good senior hurlers.

ye I agree with ou about the U20’s leave them at it until the end of their campaign and see if any of the players catch the eye, I’m sure they are all part of the senior set up anyway so it wouldn’t be a huge step up anyway. Focus is the big thing today.

The way the Gaa are fixing games in recent years is indeed a scandal. All senior hurling championship matches on Saturday along with the Ulster football final and the Leinster football final standing alone on sunday afternoon. Of course, the match of the weekend Tipp v Clare behind the paywall, hurling is the poor relation.

Regarding ourselves I agree taking Offaly for granted would be very foolish. While they are very young and the championship hasn't gone well for them they are outstanding hurlers and the longer they are left in the game the more dangerous they will be. Eoghan Lyng and Marty Murphy are the only under 20s I would see adding to this years senior panel , but quite a few of the others, particularly Vereker, Kelly ,Neary and Hickey are real prospects going forward. Nothing simple for them next wednesday in Portlaoise either and they deserve proper support.

Celtic challenge quarter final v Waterford on today in Dunmore. Should be worth a look and no entry fee.

Minor footballers are out this afternoon in the tier three All Ireland competition, away to Waterford at 2pm.

KK bet Waterford by ten points in the Celtic challenge.the referee was awful, totally one sided,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,155 ✭✭✭Ceist_Beag

Ah he wasn't nearly as bad as the Waterford fans beside me were making out. Talk about moaning. They were even calling a shot wide and them standing beside the corner flag of the side scored against! Better team won, don't think anyone could argue that.

Footballers were well bet by a bigger stronger Waterford side. Only the start of the journey for Kilkenny football and there were enough encouraging signs to build on. Special mention to young Eoin Walpole who played 55 minutes in the Celtic challenge match and then made it down in time to start the football match putting in another 55 minutes.

Hopefully It's the start of a long term project to get a senior squad back in the next 10 years.

Pretty dead match here in the park. Forwards moving well enough. Kenny and Molloy not in the game at all. Backs comfortable enough

Why did Harry Shine go off?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,078 ✭✭✭kksaints

11 points up at the half. There's a bit of a breeze and we had it in the 1st half. We've been fairly comfortable for most of the half. Forwards have done well with most of the ball they've gotten but some of the balls into them haven't been brilliant and as the poster above has said the midfield hasn't been in the game that much. They haven't had much in the way of a goal threat but they are capable of some useful passages of play.

He must have been injured as he went straight to the physio.

Any news from the Kilkenny match? I did not attend as i wanted to watch the Clare v Tipp game and it was an absolutely incredible spectacle played in a great atmosphere. Clare need a some big results to go there way to qualify.

Very comfortable win and the 2nd half was a non-event really bar a lovely goal from TJ and two fine goals from Offaly's number twelve. Midfield was more in the match in the 2nd half and Kenny got through a good amount of ball. Mullen was in and out of the match when he came on and was lucky with the goal but his movement leading up to it was quality.

Offaly were much poorer than I expected and while I think they'll stay up are possibly fortunate that Antrim have to travel to Tullamore to play them.

I see Oisin Kelly scored 2-1 from play, was he marking Blanchfield?

Juts wondering is that the reason Blanchfield was subbed or was he injured?

Not Sure about the 1st goal but for the 2nd goal it was Mikey Butler who was outpaced by Kelly. Blanchfield missed the last game with a knock and I'd say he was probably only fit for 50 minutes or so. He had a fairly good game in fairness and is always a decent option for a pass.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 666 ✭✭✭Neewollah

Blanchfield was gone off well before Kelly got 2nd goal. Only gave him the 45 minutes I'd say minding the injury. Kelly was pretty much anonymous bar his 2 well taken goals. Hard mam to stop when running direct

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,678 ✭✭✭me89

Blanch was already gone off well before the 2nd goal, played ok but not sure how you measure that because the training games have more intensity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,372 ✭✭✭JJs Left Hand

He didn't get the rewards today but Mossys off the ball movement inside this year has been elite.

Not much to be read into today really. No intensity and it was sloppy at times. Deegan still making some braindead passes, thought Carey was very quiet and I actually didn't think Blanch was great. Another solid performance from Billy Ryan and nice to see TJ sharp and better still, being left inside rather than coming out the field where his legs aren't up to it anymore

Disappointed to see Shine injured AGAIN

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 319 ✭✭jamesbond2022

Clare surely won’t qualify hard to see them beating Limerick in the last game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,324 ✭✭✭blackcard

A win against Dublin means a Leinster final against the winner of Dublin v Galway but we would have to improve a lot from today's performance. Positives were a good shift from Billy Ryan, Stephen Donnelly did well. John Donnelly 3 scores from limited possession.2 good goals from TJ. Gametime for Blanch and Mullen. Plenty of direct running from Luke Hogan.

Negatives. Poor first touches from Mikey Butler. Midfield not in the match much. Only 2 scores from play in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Conceded puckouts to Offaly. 2 goals conceded and could have beem another 2.

Crowd ended up laughing at some of the refereeing decisions.

As I said, big improvement needed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 319 ✭✭jamesbond2022

Not much to gain from the match apart from Mullen and blanchfield and Tj getting minutes after injuries

Harry shine b Ryan had good first halves as had Stephen Donnelly who scored assisted a goal and won frees

While the game was flat we did some nice things but god the ref was so whistle happy no play was allowed develop at all it was so frustrating to watch

Was expecting a bit more from Offaly

Hasn't been mentioned yet but I thought Tommy Walsh was extremely sharp in the corner

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 443 ✭✭Krazy gang

Clare left it all out there despite lining out with a patched up team. Wasn't overly impressed with tipp bar John mcgraths outstanding finishing. Waterford tipp huge next week

Yes, Tommy did well. Noted that of our 11 subs, Padraic Moylan is the only sub who plays in the full back line and Peter McDonald is the only sub who plays regularly in the half back line. Very little cover
