Ironic that Miller would have thought to mention that about the constitution as it shows he thinks Trump to be an "ala carte" president. The however is that Trump has not informed Congress in writing or otherwise officially that the US has been invaded by a foreign enemy, that the US is consequently at a state of war with….. and that he believes there are legal grounds for the writ of habeas corpus to be suspended.

It's a simple basic principle of selling that you produce what the customer wants & not what you think is the best. The US consumer buys European cars because they see them as better.

The US is totally arrogant in their belief that their products are better.

The opposite I'd have thought. Bring back jobs and make goods cheaper.

I know it's a shock to us in Ireland and elsewhere that a leader would actually do what he/she says they will do in a campaign.

A lot of what Trump is doing is silent majority opinion on lots of things especially immigration. It's the things most have felt unwilling to talk about out of fear due to the woke mind virus.

Now they have their champion and he is doing exactly what they want.

The word "woke" thrown into a post in a negative way, appears to allow people to justify absolutely everything Trump does. It's brilliant.

Almost no actual laws passed so nothing he has done is permanent.

The word 'woke' is a favourite word of right-wing reactionaries throughout the West. A badge to slap on everything they don't like, which is quite a bit.

There are several problems with the word. Firstly, it's amorphous - no one speaker of it has the exact same definition or sense of where the line is crossed. This is more a problem for those who are outside that political bubble. Inside of it, its lack of definition is great because it allows everyone on the right-wing to agree they don't like 'woke' while each having a different standard of just what the word means. A good unifier, in other words.

Secondly, it's really just a rebrand of 'political correctness' and 'right-on', which are probably rebrands themselves. It tries to paint 'woke' as a new thing when it's really not. However, by painting it as a novel problem, it's easier to scare people with it.

Thirdly, just like with DEI, the idea of 'woke' as a problem gives Trump a blank cheque to go and balance things out with regressive policies, ostensibly designed to address a problem that didn't exist in the first place, and mean that his 'solution' is a worse result.

The silent majority want the price of everything to go up? Weird... Strange that all indications is the US public are beginning to experience buyer's remorse.
