And that is what I like about Slot - he has a real edge to him.

Takes a lot of the emotion out of it, but still gets the result.

Embarrassing some comments from Liverpool fans around the internet these games are of less significance then pre season games also the manager and training staff already seen enough of fringe players in training and any games played to know what they have nobody should be judged in post title winning games where the untouchable players themselves are not physically going to be playing at same level . Just enjoy the countdown to trophy presentation and parade .

I would say they will wait until the end of the season to announce the City decision.

    Any predictions lads ?

I am going to say …….. a minus 30 points start next season.

Whoever did the lip reading between himself and John Henry last week was spot on.

Goodbye & thanks Trent. We look ahead now with the players who want to be at the club

Best of luck to him. He's won it all here, not many that can say that. Who's to say he couldn't come back in a few years for a late career swansong.

I wouldn’t hold any animosity towards him leaving.
When contracted he did everything he was supposed to do, won every trophy available.
The same as some posts in this thread, we gave out about him when he played poorly; praised him when he pulled out a bit of magic!
    It’s a sickener, but that’s life.
    Good luck to him.

Will be missed. I hope he comes back someday

while one or two more players will be heading towards the final year of their contracts next season, it will be a relief to us and to Slot not to have to have the incessant noise of those 3 contract situations being played out publicly and to concentrate on the actual football instead, which we are the best at right now.

In the immortal words of Craig Bellamy…. I wish him well.

I’m deffo in the leave him out for next 3 games camp. He got his farewell last Sunday in the most amazing circumstances ever. The club moves on.

Question now is will Real Madrid want to have him early for the Club World Cup?

We could get something out of them to allow an early release

Not a getting a fee smarts. Especially concerning Madrid.

Not Trent's obligation or fault. Owes the club nothing.

The Club obviously done what they could too keep him but he didn't want to stay we move on try get replacements,I used the word replacements because yesterday's performance shows we need a few signings in the summer,on another note things could turn sour very quickly at real Madrid if it's not going to plan but so be it we move on

That goal he scored in the CL qualifiers in 2017 is the first time I really knew about him.

I was 32 then, it really ages you watching someone's full senior career come and go in that time.

I wish him well and yet I hope he regrets it.

On a more practical note, we need another RB.

Whether it's someone to start first choice or to do be backup to Bradders is unclear.

We cannot allow ourselves to be in a situation where Gomez (injured enough himself) or Quansah have to deputise for huge chunks of he season imo.

Let's see if they really want him like their bid in January apparently showed.

I personally wouldn’t fault the club one bit. I’d guess him and his camp absolutely played the club for the last 2 years when contract talks would have started (Think I remember reading a reputable journalist allude to this as well). I’d say he probably strung them along assuring he’d sign but knew he’d be signing for Madrid all along.

Hope to god they don’t play him again this season. I’ll be there for the next 2 homes and wouldn’t boo him or dog him out. That should be saved for if/when he turns up with Madrid.
He was and is still some player. Never bought into the ‘he can’t defend’ nonsense, his attacking outlay outweighs that. I hope the move is a disaster for him and I don’t wish him well. Sickened he’s leaving.

I think Liverpool will look to cash out in a year’s time, rather than Mo wanting to go.

I genuinely think this is the best for TAA. Mentally I think he is suffering, why I don’t know. It may be off the field issues.

    Good luck to him.

Sure they won't even have the new manager by then. Crazy to be signing first XI players when a manager is about to be sacked but that's Florentino

I dont like seeing anyone leave but the way he done it leaves a sour taste.

The only thing i will miss from him is Salah is a better player with him in the side but defensively we are infinitely better without him.

Its 100% guaranteed he will regret this decision but it seems hes in love with Bellingham more than his boyhood club.

We all knew he was leaving. Big summer ahead, need two fullbacks, a CB and a striker imo. Definitely a few more to leave as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 996 ✭✭✭The Moist Buddha

good luck to him, he'll add a few more champions league medals to his CV now along with La Ligas, just a pity we didn't get any cash for him .

I think there's two issues with Trent.. one is that he ran his contact down. He is fully entitled to do that, but it comes at a cost in terms of how he is perceived by the fan base, whether anyone thinks it should or not. The second one is that I honestly don't think he ever properly "connected" with the fans or had a big likeability/charisma factor. That makes it easier to feel justified in being bitter about the manner of his exit.
