In general, and this goes for every Irish team. We need to be savages, brutal bastards to win things.

    None of this nice shite.

We get carried away with these talking heads telling us we're great, we're favourites, we deserve it, we don't.

I know it’s only one selection but the continued selection of players like Healy is one of the factors that makes me question the mentality of Irish rugby…SA,NZL,FRA,ENG…would any of them pick Healy over Boyle? Not a hope…again it’s one selection but this sort of issue just shows that there is an element of fear in our player when we get to big games it feels like regardless of form we just want one of our experienced heads to remain in order to hold our hand through it regardless of form.

We say that we’ve moved on but the continued selections of POM,Murray,Healy and hailing them as gods even though they are well past their best at this stage just shows that this small team mentality is still ingrained in Irish rugby.

The decision to not start Barrett was the most mind boggling and arrogant. WTF is he there for if not for this game?

This! Byrne was off his feet and out of the game. Doesn't matter what direction the ball travelled as he wasnt entitled to play it.

I suppose I'll support NH in hhe final, they seem sound especially Alex Mitchell.

Can someone tell me why, when Mitchell's foot was in touch, it wasn't called back into the 22?

Certainly after Doris went off he was.

leinster looked disorganised and rudderless without him.

The cribbing and moaning about dodgy refereeing, etc, etc after every big loss is getting very tiresome at this stage. They're not saints themselves. The team seem incapable of winning knockout rugby when it comes to crunch.

I can't believe they turned down the 3 points with 3 minutes left. Complete madness. Have to be backing yourself at home in extra time.

How can Northampton have a 20 year old ready for pro Rugby

Leinster's 20 year olds are still in an academy been pampered and not exposed to anything

I'll never understand not taking 3 points.

    Baffling decisions

when you score 34 points in a semi final, the 10 isn’t the reason for the defeat

He lifted his boot up before he made contact with the ball.

FWIW on Jodie Barrett, the 42's Gavin Casey says he's heard that there are some restrictions on when he can be selected.

It's either he can't start when Ringrose and Henshaw are fit in the centres or Keenan is available. Or he can't start successive games.

But he thinks there are restrictions.

Foot came back off the line again before he played the ball, was clear enough on the second replay.

Unfortunately, "feet for hands" Doris made a reappearance today at the worst time. Spilled a few balls and threw an offload that was never on at a NH players shins.

Off day for every player not named TOB. And maybe McCarthy

A completely arrogant effort by Leinster at the end. Clueless cup rugby. Twice turned down kick penalties. The one 4 minutes from the end in front of the posts was a shocking decision not to take to get back level. The decision at the end to tap and go was incredibly naive. Desperate decisions. The end of Leo.

The arrogance was turning down three points twice. Absolutely the killer decison today. Leinster had the opportunity to bring it to extra time twice when their performance was brutal and thought themselves too good for it.

    Ultimately fatal.

He's infringed on a player who probably would have scored a try if not for his infringment, so do tell me more about why that couldn't have been a penalty try under the LAWS.

    Actually, don't bother.

I take it you were asleep for a lot of Munster BS 1999-2009. Unbearable. 'Irish by birth, Munster by the Grace of God'. Ye had 100 supporters at your first European game in 1995. In 5 years 50,000. Bandwagoners. Most supporting Limerick hurling now. Get off your high horse.

His ability to pass to his right hand side seems to be more important than tackling in the coaches eyes. Possibly different now that casey is back, who is able to take on long range passing to the right. I'd be more worried about the roles of furlong and henshaw from an ireland pov. Really feels like James Ryan might be leinsters most important player.

I'm at a loss here. I could forgive the lack of leadership in the previous final losses as a learning opportunity. But today is a joke. Decision making and leadership all day was at amateur level. I'm sick of it at this stage.

Because for every 23 year old you have a 35 year old .

Lots of that leinster team are not playing a world cup in 2 years.

Don't know how that wasn't looked at as a penalty try

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,061 ✭✭✭crusd

a player on the ground, stopped, short of the line “probably would have” scored. He had already been stopped when the player infringed. So yes, learn the rules

I've been left wondering for a few years now, coaches come and coaches go but Cullen remains… exactly what does he do that adds value to this team? apart from nostalgia before incoming academy players were born.

    I'm partial to your abracadabra
I'm raptured by the joy of it all

You have to hand it to Northampton. They emptied themselves to win that game away from home.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth house?

this would be so silly if it’s true. Barrett is here for these games.

Henshaw offered very little. Just ran into contact over and over.
